Well, my music was the '40s thru the 50s and we were able to dance to all of our music. Slow, jitterbug, lindy, and so on. 70s music? You just had to listen to it. There is nothing like dancing a slow dance with your girlfriend, turned wife. And just embrace each other and feel the love you have for each other. Now, those are memories, my wife of 56+ years went home. She passed on July 20th, 2020 .We danced to In The Still of The Night on her 75th birthday. Never knowing that that would be Our Last Dance. My dad is 79 today, and he is still in good shape other than the occasional hearing loss, he is still fit for his age. Listening to this song, reminded me of the time when I was kid and how happy he was to bring me to his work, meeting all of his friends at the stable, feeding horses and all. As I ponder, I realised that most of his closest friends, including his older brother who used to work there are all gone, and I do understand that it tend to get lonely when one by one of your friends and family start to crossover. Dad retired now, but bless him, always the same old guy, smiling and kind as always. Thank you for this song, it does means a lot to me and my family. God bless everyone.

I'm 70 & still love this song.
I was in love with a girl when we were 14 in 1967. She liked me but we were so shy and never connected after that year. I went in the service in 1971 and moved across the country when I got out with a toddler son to raise myself. 40 years later I was visiting my brother where we grew up and I ran into that girl. She had lost her husband. We have been together 14 years now and it has been the best time of our lives. We have never before felt the love we do for each other.

Oh! This brings back so many wonderful memories. This song played at every school dance and us girls would just pray that that "special" boy would ask us to dance. Then if he did you would get on the dance floor, sway to the music and for a few minutes you were in heaven.

When young learning English I did not understand the lyrics of the song and in recent years I got to see it in writing and enjoyed it more. Remember going to Acapulco with my beautiful wife and my cousin Jorge with his wife driving my 1965 Mustang Hard Top and listening to Procol Harum. My dad is 79 today, and he is still in good shape other than the occasional hearing loss, he is still fit for his age. Listening to this song, reminded me of the time when I was kid and how happy he was to bring me to his work, meeting all of his friends at the stable, feeding horses and all. As I ponder, I realised that most of his closest friends, including his older brother who used to work there are all gone, and I do understand that it tend to get lonely when one by one of your friends and family start to crossover. Dad retired now, but bless him, always the same old guy, smiling and kind as always. Thank you for this song, it does means a lot to me and my family. God bless everyone.

This song was a prayer for me, a musical lullaby that helped me hold onto myself as I struggled to remain true to myself. 2019 - it came on the radio this morning and I was immediately back to 1967, thinking about who I was, who I became and who I am now.
