Haven't seen so many of these episodes for years. I was even impressed, when i realized, that in "Hookys" Mr. Krabs really cared about SpongeBob altough it had nothing to do with money. Wouldn't expect something like this since season 5. I should definitely rewatch the classics. ^^
Heck even by season 3 it would be unlikely that Mr. Krabs would care about SpongeBob more than money.

Though I disagreed with ones you chose in pregame, I have to agree with most of the choices you made in this one. Especially with your choice on Sleepytime over Employee of the month. Overall, good video, good choices. 👍🏼

Season 1 Spongebob will always be a fun classic like 2 and 3 no matter how bad or good the episode is I’ll always watch Spongebob to see what Adventures he’s going on today.^^
As a child, I never enjoyed this cartoon but after watching the first SpongeBob movie I decided to watch it so some of the older episodes I knew less of. I like seeing people review episodes I haven't seen than go back to watch them myself.

I remember the Rocket one having scratch and sniff cards but I never actually got any.

Alpha Jay, you're an odd fellow, but I must say, you steam a good video.
Glad you continued the bracket. Now that you pointed it out , I just really noticed that Spongebob's Valentine's Day episode was a friendship angle not a romance angle that you really don't see much. Reef Blower is really the underrated one glad you went with it nothing against the Chaperone.
SB-129 IS MY FAVORITE EPISODE! Should have won that round.
Fun Fact: Jellyfishing and Plankton! were actually paired together.

The beginning to jellyfishing was hilarious.One of the first scenes of a cartoon to make me laugh out loud.Plankton is also a classic but I think jellyfishing is better,the pacing is perfect and it's pure comedy gold
Rock Bottom is one of my absolute favorite episodes in general! :)
These episodes are fun! Honestly, I'm half of the time pausing because I find myself laughing at bits I remember from each episode as you go over it.
What did you think of the ending of Sleepy Time? It was really jarring to see everyone break into Spongebob's house at the end of the episode, and it really doesn't go anywhere after Patrick says if anyone has a quarter. The ending doesn't really solve the conflict of Spongebob breaking into people's dreams, except giving Spongebob insomnia. Can someone explain that ending please?
I'd guess it was done primarily as a gag, a way to tie it all together. Granted, how they knew Spongebob was somehow infiltrating their dreams rather than them just coincidentally dreaming about him is anyone's guess. Perhaps they have some kind of comedic gag detector.
I agreed with almost all of your picks (I think only 2 differed).
Many of these I didn't know were in season one. They're so well-developed that I thought they were from season 2.
Also, I think I've only seen "I Was a Teeenage Gary", like, once. It never played. And all I can remember from it was the "meow" song at the end...
Valentines Day has a weird memory with me. I was always scared of this episode. I always thought this was a dream I had until a few years back
Nitpick: You tend to say your "n't" in "isn't" too fast

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe for the hot sauce gag in Karate Choppers, they actually just caught Kenny in the bathroom and we’re like, “Aright, we’re gonna paint your face red.”
And Kenny’s face remained tinted red for the rest of the day even after he tried washing it off.

The chaperone episode is my personal favorite episode. Me and my grandma loved it so much, I’d yell for her to come sit down and watch when chaperone would air, she always laughed at poor spongebob and he reminded us a lot of how my cousin (her grandson, I’m her granddaughter obviously) acts in social situations. Chaperone always reminds me of the good times and laughs my grandma and I shared watching the show. I don’t think it’s the best on it’s own. Obviously it’s just because of my personal experiences. I think rock bottom is probably the best, it genuinely scared me as a kid (yeah, I was a wuss.) and intrigued me.
Hope F.U.N wins I think it will go far.

I think the best part of squeaky boots for me is that the story is literally The Tell-Tale Heart. Odd source for a show like Spongebob to draw from if you think about it.

I agree mostly with your reasoning, but there are some disagreements I have (I still like I was a Teenage Gary best). I am impressed about how you were able to explain the episodes, though. It's hard to explain a comedy show and you did it well.

are we still beating around the bush? yes, season 1 had some of the all time best episodes of the series, but F.U.N is timeless, fun, easy to rewatch, marketable (i had a spongebob alarm clock based around the episode that played the F.U.N song in place of beeping as a kid), and held in high regards through the community.
i may be in the minority, but i actually enjoy i was a teenage gary for the shock value. It is probably the scariest spongebob episode just due to all the questions you may not want the answer to. I will admit that part of my love for the episode comes down to the fact that it would fit into some of my evil fantasies, though. (emphasis on fantasy. it is simply me entertaining myself when bored)
Some of these are REALLY hard (I love Musclebob Buffpants and Pizza Delivery equally, same with Suds and Rock Bottom)

In a way valetines day is similar to stimpys fan club
In stimpys fan club stimpy gets like 300 fan letters and ren doesn't get any at all... Ren gets sad and then stimpy says he can write to them because its important. Ren writes back to the kids but gets angry because they talk good about stimpy and talk bad about ren so he writes mean things to them and calls them "EEDIOTS". Later in the night he almost kills stimpy because he thinks everyone hates him and loves stimpy. But then his brain hurts or something (i dont even know) and it stops him. But then in the morning the mail comes and ren gets one letter and it turns out stimpy wrote it for him making a kind of sad but really good ending to the episode... I prefer it over valentines day for sure but valentines day is still good.. But i may have forgot about things in valentines day because its been like 3 years since i saw it.
Suds and rock bottom both gave me anxiety I have no idea why

The only one I disagreed on here is putting ripped pants over Texas. I personally think Texas did a better job at getting some kind of emotion out of the audience where as Ripped pants was just a repetitive joke throught an episode that the characters got tired of to have Spongebob sing a song that was suppose to make the audience feel something and I just didn't.

Opposite day had a formula that was specific to that episode only trying to reuse that same formula for another episode would be qay to obviously repetitive everybody would be like we did this before or it happened already and ofc they do reuse certain formulas but the evemts have become so random its as if we know its repetitive but we can't help but feel something different because its taking us all over the place
