The Swedish Strv m/42 DT or Delat Torn is probably my all-time favorite medium tank in War Thunder. With potent APHE rounds and a rapid 3.0s reload rate, it makes for the perfect ambush vehicle. It is also fairly versatile, though the armor is not good at all. Gaijin did nerf its replenishment since the last update, however.

I always wonder if this thing is considered to be an open-top by the game when it comes to overpressure. If yes, that KV-2 got tremendously Gaijin'd.
I don't think so. I've survived smackdab middle in too many art strikes for me to think it's considered open top.
it doesn't. This thing needs to be patched tho, it can survive 128mm from the front from time to time 💀

A KV-2 never gets Gaijined, it's a ruski tank. It's just a skill problem :p
The pen for the APHE used to be like 15mm lower. The change made a big difference between front penning most things and not front penning most things. Really got it over that threshold.

the Chinese PT-76 was actually the og PT-76 with no stabalizer, easily identifiable by the different muzzle break

I remember the good 'ol days when the Delat's ammo rack magically moved outside the tank every time you turned the turret. I had some *really* wacky deaths to that crap.
Probably the reason your APHE is so inconsistent is because a while back Gaijin did an experiment to make APHE shells more accurate (i.e, exploding in a cone instead of a sphere), and some swedish APHE shells were the test subjects of this, but it never went anywhere, however those shells do still have the cone effect

A fun April fools patch would be to have turret collision. Barrel can hit walls, and all that. Would make bushes not go through your optics as much
I think it would be a cool change if you also had to use the gunner sights (like in sim battles) that would also drastically nerf bushes.
Sounds like something that could be a new mode that pushes sim a little further

If I'm not mistaken, the T-34E was either designed for urban warfare or to resist HEAT-shells.
Edit: And what makes it worse is that the truck shot You through the cargo crate, something that most vehicles can't shoot through.

I’m glad Spookston appreciates the Swedish vehicles, they’re so fun and unique
A very handy feature on the DT is that the loader can just directly shove shells into the breech if your first stage runs out. It takes about 7 seconds but it means you don't have to wait for the autoloader to restock to *then* load the gun. Especially in situations where you need to fire more than 4 shells. SO you don't need to fear that you'll be caught unable to reload just because your first-stage is empty.
Which is kinda funny in itself. MOST tank's autoloaders actually allow manual load. In fact, some tanks got special ammo which they can't use with autoloaders, needing to switch to manual.
Same with first stage racks in non-autoloaders.
And then we have some tanks which actually can't access certain racks in combat (Hilariously, T-90M is one of them, sporting extra ammo bin at the back of the turret without actual access to it. The point was to ditch the 23th-42nd round shelves which were the ACTUAL reason why T-series had less than ideal burn rate).
Spookston that PT-76 you killed at 4:52 was the Chinese variant, which lacks a full stabilizer.
I love how I just fought one of these things last night and genuinely struggled with its turret, only for Spookston to make a video talking about it the next day.

Not sure if anyone has ever mentioned it or not Spooks, but I appreciate your use of hit sound effects that were used in Team Fabulous 2, it's a lovely reminder every time I hear them
The delat torn is such a good vehicle, one of Sweden's highlights imo.
I like how ”Delat Torn” means “a divided tower” in Swedish
the random images spread throughout the video honestly add so much to the experience
You should check out the pvkv m/43 (1946) TD. It's such a hidden gem, it has the frontal armor of a KV-1, 20 degrees of depression accompanied by a WIDE horizontal arc, GREAT APHE round and best of all it has the exact same optics as a leopard 1 (stupidly good).
This alongside the Pvkv 2 is hilariously fun. Strv m/42 DT plays very well in close quarters since you can easily bait people with your low reload time, and the Pvkv 2 is excellent for long distance shots.
i think the 5.0 casemate is the best for sniping the crap out of everything. if you use your gun dep that thing actually has a lot of front angle with 75mm of armor

This is one of my favourite swedish vehicles. When i got it, almost immediately i got a talisman for it in a chest lol, so i grinded through all of swedish tier 3-4. Then came the strv 103-0, which is fantastic, grinded through the rest of Sweden with it, u should definitely try it i think😁
I played this tank a LOT, it's really OP at 5.0. If it were a french vehicle, it would be sitting at 5.7 easy.

thats true, but the simple fact that your hull front plate can bounce german 75mm shells consistantly without angling is a godsend, because an unangled t-34 is usually a fairy easy kill so it baits shots

Thanks for doing a video on the DT, i think its under appreciated. Before the finish vehicles, this was the mainstay of my line up, up to 7.3. I always had fun zooming in and ambushing 3 or 4 tanks and getting out of there.
I've not played many tanks in the Swedish tree. I certainly haven't unlocked this one yet, but their tanks seem cool. Especially considering the fact they get APDS in Rank 1 vehicles! They were fun!

I hate this game with passion because of how frustrating it is, but it's fun and entertaining to watch someone play and suffer it while preserving your brain cells and mental health.
I'm a german main, currently, and it pains me how bad the teams can be sometimes. I'm actively trying to be a helpful player to balance it out

yep, the quick reload is great for baiting people to pushing out, just like twin cannon tanks. i'll usually use the small gun on multi gun tanks to bait enemies out and then blast em with the main. works 99% of the time
you could try the is 6, its armour is very trolly and can bounce leopard 1 sabot.
I remember the insane reload rate of ammo, the somua was insanely better during 3 days !

Personally I’d love to see a video on either the Type 87 RCV or Type 89 IFV. The RCV seems like a fun, ratty little speedy boi and I’m not sure I’ve seen much 89 gameplay.

I am fairly new to the game, but after playing Sweden pretty much since the start, the DT has become not only my favorite tank in the game, but during WW2 in general (despite it never really seeing action). A weird vehicle with some scarily devastating abilities.

Fun fact, when people pronounce swedish words (examples: Torn) they put heavy emphasis on the R in torn which isn't how its supposed to sound as O is a vocal, it becomes the letter you put the most emphasis on. making it sound like the word TOON but with a small R afterwards like TOOrn-vagn

Hey this is one I recommended so I'll pretend it's because of that. You might think the armour is worthless because of how thin it looks but it's pretty survivable. Back when Sweden had a number of huge BR gaps, this thing was my workhorse when I was waiting for the SPGs to repair. Nice early autoloader to boot

The Strv m/42 DT does have one of the most painful stock grinds I have ever had though. The reload rate helps a lot getting to tier 4 upgrades to get the APHE. I have also had KV-1's shoot an he shell and overpressure me so gaijin moment for that KV-2

You know, you mentioned the T-34E, and I assume you were talking about the STZ version, but what might make a really interesting video is the premium T-34E, the one with extra side armor. That thing can angle like crazy, and it looks really wacky too.
