  • Learn about the history and significance of the Rāmagrāma Stupa - the only one of the 8 most ancient buddhist relic stupas which remained undisturbed - and it's new development plan.
It was built in Nepal in 400 BC after the final Nibbāna of the Buddha by the people of the clan of Queen Māyā, the mother of the Buddha and rediscovered by archeologists in the 1980s.
The Moksha foundation and architect Stefano Boeri in collaboration with the Lumbini development trust have now unveiled a new masterplan to develop it into a buddhist holy site again so that many people will have the opportunity to pay respects to the relics of the Buddha, recollect him and chant and meditate there.
