- Hi Frenzzz,
I thought to speak about Melt palettes, because I found myself referencing a few in my June favs. And figured why not just describe all of them, and perhaps that will provide context for you in deciding which palette could be for you or nah!

I didn't include the Beetlejuice palettes, because I completely forgot them AND I was thinking I include the traditional Melt 8/10 pan palettes. Thank you for understanding!!!
Yes you can’t get them anymore anyway. We got you boo!
So many Melt Palettes are no longer available, I truly just buy the ones I like as soon as I can, because I’m always worried they would be unavailable very soon.
I was able to get the Vida and Muerte palettes in their last surprise restock during Black Friday sales.
The melt 8/10 pan palettes are magnetic. You can swap out the shades and rearrange them or make your own color stories. I have the Smoke Sessions, Gemini and Millennial Pinx- they make some of my favorite light & grungy color stories in my collection. Goalz is my favorite green shadow!!
I just came to the comments to see why you didn’t include them. Haha!! Thanks foe the post and video.
I don't own any Melt products. I think the brand is cool and they have great ideas, but I feel like they always have quality issues. I heard someone say that they're the new Urban Decay and I would agree. They have taken over as the grunge/edgy brand on the market.
I love what you do so much .. I can’t even explain how helpful you are and so nice! Never change you’re the best ♥️
Dear melt just take your stack formula and put them in your pallets, your color stories are too good to be mediocre
I am a melt stan. So I love it and I get it. All of the mess is what I love melt for. It was so nice to see them all showcased. They work for me. Love them all. Thanks for this. 😊
I finally finally finally got the Lila pallet from Natasha D! It’s on sale on her website for 78 ish dollars😁 not entirely related to the video but I wanted to share the good news 😂
Enjoy! It was my first ND palette, since then I bought nearly all. She made me fall in love with ND.
Congratulations! That’s a great palette!
Congrats, it’s a great palette!
Yay!! So happy you finally got it! And yeah, guys, ND is having a great sale right now! It's kind if like a mix and match two for one with the large pan sized 15 pan palettes (Lila sized palettes!)
@@amypanddirtytoo1926 I thought about getting biba but I have no space lol
Thanks for doing this! It was super helpful. I ordered the Rust and She’s in Parties palettes yesterday and this video made me feel good about the purchase lol ❤️❤️❤️
I love the way you articulate and describe these palettes and shadows. Especially in comparison to each other. This has been the most helpful breakdown of Melt’s eyeshadow palettes that I’ve seen. Thank you so much!
If you're interested, the Radioactive palette is still at Sephora. I'm just missing 420 and I'll have all the palettes. Melt's just got the tones that draw you in and you want to love them soooo much! They just really need to work on their formulation. I completely agree with you about Rust. It's like really good, for Melt. It's not really good compared to a lot of other brands though.
Alicia, I've never clicked so fast! I don't have a lot of Melt palettes. I'm still tempted by Millennial Pinx. Even tho I know it's difficult.
Here's my ranking of the ones I own & use most:
1. Beetle Juice (pair of 2 palettes)
2. Smoke Sessions
3. Blueprint
4. Gemini
5. She's in Parties
6. Impulsive
7. 27
Color story wise I think Melt makes beautiful and creative combinations, they’re really esthetically pleasing to look at. However, I could never purchase just because if I have to fuss when using a palette it’ll end up collecting dust. Thank you so much for such a comprehensive video…I love your makeup talk.
This is such a helpful video! I’m stuck between three palettes atm but Rust just became my #1 must buy palette. The color story for Mary Jane is just so tempting and then there is Brunette… I know I shouldn’t. You explain why so well. It’s just missing that deeper shade to really make it go from a beautiful palette to a perfect palette. But the whiskey theme makes me laugh so much…. I’m a sucker for a good theme. Regardless, thank you!
For anyone that missed out on the Amor Eterno collection... I don't know I'd keep an eye out on what those ladies are doing over there and what they mean by 'limited edition'. 👀 Earlier this year they renamed the Fortuna gel pot liner as *Fortune* and brought it back to the website, they also brought back the *Cultura* liner, and a few of the brushes reappeared in different packaging for the Brunet release. 🤷♀️ I'll always appreciate the packaging design for the big holiday releases though. 👏 They do really well with the packaging, where Urban Decay mostly fails with collabs. I'm always surprised when shimmers don't shim. Usually it's the mattes that suffer (esp mass produced private label stuff), but even if I buy products from the drugstore it's the shimmers that I can make work without much struggle. Tbh Alicia I personally wouldn't bother with the Radioactive palette; I don't feel that the quality translated well from the stack formula. ☢️
My heart popped out too you know, when Goalz fell off on us. Also, I shall forever regret that I couldn't get my hands on Muerte.
My favourite melt palette is the millennial pinx 🤣 the colour story is everything for me 😍
Hi Alicia.. I have most of Melt's stacks, and palettes. Albeit not every shade in every palatte is "perfect" for "everyone," I would submit that a perfect palette for everyone ceases to exit; as it's an impossibility to make everyone happy. I for one, enjoy the softer shimmers and metallics in their palettes, as they look more sultry on the eyes. In the 38 years I've been in the beauty industry, Melt's grungy, rich, unique color schemes are what I searched for in single shadows since the 70's, 80's and 90's.
Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸
I love your reviews and comparisons. I'm glad Goals didn't break; it's the prettiest one.
Great thorough review. I like how you don't just write a palette off, but dig in and see how you can make it work.
Alicia, I SO appreciate the care you've been having with non English words. Thanks so much! ♥ Your Spanish accent is absolutely adorable!
Oh I'd Like to add that you did that with this presentation! I am an eyeshadow analyst as well and I learn so much from you!!!!
I audibly gasped when the gold shade jumped out the Gemini palette. 😂I did buy Gemini during all the hype and was disappointed by the performance so I returned it. Recently, I bought Impulsive from Sephora on sale for $32. I was surprised how good it was. I think I will get Rust next. Your review for it and the showdown you did featuring it convinced me. Those showdowns are so helpful. It is nice to revisit some older palettes. I would love to see more when you have time. 😘
We love you so much for this!!! Thanks for listening to your viewers and addressing our questions/comments❤️
Thanks so much for the effort you put into your content.
I own a lot from Melt and love the colour stories so much. I was thrilled to find a dupe for the deep teal from Natasha Denona Gold palette - this creases on me no matter what base I use. I found the dupe in Melt Smoke Sessions and it's perfection.
I love the deep teal and was SO sad the ND Gold palette quality was disappointing for me.
I can't seem to find your video on the Four Twenty palette :(
This was great, I love your perspective and the macro approach to a brand discussion.
Thank you for that, Teressa! I love speaking about makeup, and it also helps me revisit what I forgot!
I think my favorites are Mary Jane, then Muerte 😍
@@frankiesoiree yes I wear Mary Jane pretty much daily right now. I hope they re-release muerte again because it’s good and so many people still want it. I think they will
Love this video. Do more please of different brands 😊💕
Such a great presentation! Thank you Alicia. Great video🦋✨💕
I see each release of melt cosmetics eyeshadow pallets and I love love love the color stories. But watching review videos I get nervous about making a purchase because as you stated their formula can be hit or miss and the reviews are all over the place. But I know one day I will give them a try despite how finicky they are to use and the risk of quality. But watching this video made me want several pallets all over again. A wonderful thorough review and overview Alicia 😍
It is very much hit'n'miss! I'd say in the last 2 years, the only palettes I could recommend are the ones from the Amor Eterno collection and She's In Parties. 👍 What's funny is that their growing collection of gel pot liners are pretty consistent with each new release.
Oh wow! I love this video. It gets me excited to shop my stash!
I have She's in Parties, Pinx, Impulsive, Smoke Sessions, Gemini, Vida, and Muerte. My number 1 is Muerte, then the Gemini palette a very close second.
I love Muerte to death (all puns intended) and need to drop into Gemini again.
I love this! So helpful. I actually found your channel looking for reviews of Millennial Pinx and have been hooked ever since.
Thank you for being so informative and fun!!😊👌🏽❤️🎉
Early morning, Alicia! Perfection!
Thank you so much for putting all of this together into one vidgeo! 📹🤗🌻
When that shadow dropped so did my heart lol you handled that far better than I would have 😅
Yessssss...finally I get to see if She's in Parties is a superior Melt performer given the overall inconsistencies. I haven't touched mine yet but I'm feeling cautiously optimistic. 😂 Thanks Alicia! 🙆♀️💯
I'm so bummed how late I was to trying Melt. I love the packaging and love the handful of palettes I now own. They are some of my favorite color stories.
Hi Alicia this was an awesome review of the Melt eyeshadow palettes! I don’t own any but Smoke Sessions is my favorite that you reviewed. I’ve been watching your videos for a long time now and I notice that you never use a mixing medium on your lid for metallics or shimmers. You should try NYX’s Multitasker Mixing Medium. I use it for all of my metallics and shimmer shades no matter the brand and it brings out the shine and sparkle like nobody’s business! I’m sure it would work wonders for the Melt metallics! Mac also makes a good mixing medium. Both NYX and Mac are easy to use. Just apply it on your lid with a brush, let it dry a little bit, and apply the shimmer on your lid with your finger or lid brush and voila! 😍😍
I can’t believe I missed this, what’s going on with my notifications?! Great video girl, just amazing! I unexpectedly loved blue print too and she’s in parties knocked my socks off. My absolute top fave, like some high maintenance highstrung significant other, is Smoke Sessions because I love greens 😆 . You should pick up Radioactive. Temptalia hated it but I loved it 😍; it’s still on Sephora I think!!
I only own smoke sessions and I recently bought radioactive from Sephora because I saw it was restocked on there and I thought I was trippin lol! I love melt but I have to completely agree with everything you say. I’ve used radioactive twice now and I love it but indie shadows have just been killin it for me lately! I LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS 💕💕💕💕
They are on sale right now and I desperately needed this
Just got back from Patzcuaro, Michoacán in Mexico where the movie coco is based dia de los Muertos. And as a fluke looking for a new palette during the Sephora sale I came across melt cosmetics. How did I never see this before! Maybe because I used to fear color but Friday I ordered most of the pallets since they are on sale plus Sephora discount and I’m waiting patiently to receive them all! I will be watching all of your oldies but goodies!
Great video!❤️
Thank you for picking up she’s in parties, great review, i think i will pick up the new Norvina instead now.
Love your Spanish accent Alicia! This video is great just like all your vids! Thank you as always! ❤
I just keep thinking back at the Haze stack and how smooth and pigmented and METALLIC those shimmers were!! What happened?!! I do know at some point Melt said they changed their manufacturer when they went into Sephora and it very well must be why we are seeing the change and inconsistency.
I think so too. Usually it's either a) ingredients and supplier issues, and/or b) lab/manufacturer that messes with something that wasn't broken in the first place. I remember how badly Sugarpill struggled with this, and they ended up changing labs twice I think? Those eyeshadow singles they promoted were released a very long time after the first promo pics came out.
Watched the blush video dance 10 times , still watching !😘🥰
I’ve always said Melt picked up where Urban Decay trailed off. Melt is that edgy girl in us all lol. However, she started off soo awesome and now you just don’t know. The color stories always pull me in but hunni they way my makeup money is set up!! I’m not scared to spend that coin but I can’t get on board when there’s inconsistencies between every palette that comes out. I have most of the Melt palettes but not the latest ones. I agree Rust, Smoke Session and She’s in Parties are bomb. I really wanted Mary Jane but the reviews hunni. 😱 I created my own MJ palette with singles from Give Me Glow cosmetics and it turned out great!! 🤓
I love the vida palette but I definitely understand why people prefer Muerte. I just LOVE reds and greens. The browns are kinda weird but I think they are able to tone down colorful looks and aid in the blending into the skin
Rust is my favorite melt palette!!!!! I’d love to see you go back into Millenial Pinx because I bought it a few months back!!!! The color story is just so great!!!!
Today I dove back into Twenty Seven and MAN! I didn’t know that a warm palette could be grungy. This is it ⚡️⚡️⚡️
I've been considering purchasing some of their palettes, and this video was SUPER helpful. There are so many options from other companies, and I already have too many, and it's nice to help figure out where my hard earned money is best spent.
I love all your videos.
None of melt palettes have ever spoken to me so to speak. I feel they just don’t have the range from light to dark that I would need to do a complete look, and after watching the video reviews I just wasn’t interested. I like make up to be easy, colorful and fun, with a mix of neutrals for balance. Viseart is my go to brand
I was thinking about buying a melt palette, but now ...I am sure I don't have to pay more than $50.00 on a palette so difficult to work with. I'll stick to my alien cosmetics , sidney grace or Odens eye quality 👌 🤩🤩🤩
I picked mine up for some amazing prices during Covid times... I have no regrets.
@@katfaceATX I will like to buy one on sale lower price to try the formula. 🙂
Where Melt gets me is they sell complete and (relatively) unique concepts in compact little collections. They are also not afraid to play with more unique undertones in all of their products. Those two plus the “cool” aesthetic the brand is curating is what is really holding them up through all their inconsistencies and less well received products. I will say their non eyeshadow products (specifically the eyeliners and cheek products comes to mind) seem to have less attention but are more consistent.
Very helpful thank you !!
Good Video as always
Super Pretty thumbnail tho
🥰Your Beautiful Self🥰
Makeup always on Point
Happy Sunday
Hope you have a Spectacular Productive Week ahead
😇Stay Bless n Be Safe Always😇
I have radioactive and Vida. I like both but I understand what you're saying about the metallics in Vida. I'm definitely kicking myself for not getting Muerte.
I didn't realize they had so many pallets. 😳
Which is why I made myself do this video because it’s like GURL! Use the makeup that you have, please 🥴
I agree on the metallic on the Brunette palette… I hate to admit but Colourpop has an amazing formula on their metallic 🫣
Very helpful - thank you 😊
I love Melt, they have amazing colour stories and their matte formula is my #1, especially their deep mattes. I own 6 palettes.
In terms shimmer ease of use I'd say Rust and Waiting Room (Beetlejuice) are the best, followed by She's in Parties and Vida, Smoke Sessions, then Gemini. But I love and use them all.
I kinda want Mary Jane, Brunet is almost there for me, Twenty Seven, and Four Twenty (it has better reviews now than it did last year, hmm). I also wish I didn't pass on Muerte.
Low key though, I'm waiting on a Gunmetal and Baby Girl palette to be a thing.
Oh my goodness I loved this! Do you think you could do this with ND if you ever have time?
My Gemini absolutely struggles in the metallics department but my Smoke Sessions (my favourite colour story in a palette ever) handles pretty well but works excellently with a good glitter glue. I see it as a good compromise for the lovely colours and grungy themes.
💖💖💖
I have the 27 palette and it was the first Melt palette that spoke to me but as you mentioned the shimmers are lack luster. It's detoured me from buying from them ever since. 😭😔
I don't own any Melt products. Once I upgraded to better, more consistent brands, I don't have the patience for average or subpar products. I enjoyed the video.
I've never purchased a Melt palette. I've added a few to my cart but haven't pulled the trigger. There have just been too many issues with inconsistent metallics, product pushing out of the pans, pans falling out, etc. For the price I just can't justify pulling the trigger on mediocre quality. And because Melt has so many stans and collectors, it's hard to know how well they actually perform.
Thanks for the melt video, I love them , I like many brands for many reasons. But, top 3 Pat Mcgrath, Natasha Denona and Melt when it comes to shadows they are my weakness. I have discovered new influencers looking for melt looks. I'm older so I don't care about having an extreme shine w/ metelics .I'm happy to be able to do a dramatic eye without going overboard. I get that these extreme shine is what's happening now with all the multicromes and indy releases which I have but barely reach for. I hope melt has much success! Thanks again for giving them some love.
Hi friends! Love it!
Hey Maureen! Thank you for watching!
Man, this was good.
Thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish but you need longer arms, 🤣. ❣❣
HAAAAAA! Right!? That and better search skills 🤣
Love this video, if you were to rank them which would be least favorite? Rust is my favorite also perfect Fall palette. I really still want 27 but didn't know how formula was, I hate how inconsistent they all are, I got pink last time on sale and was very disappointed
The smoke sessions palette and the Mary Jane, would those olive colors in both palettes basically the same?
Have you heard if radioactive is good or not? I have been thinking about getting it
Thanks for sharing
Melt's neutrals are very deceptive. You think they are just more warm browns or whatever until you actually try & dupe the shades. I absolutely loved all the shades in Gemini--the green & the brown, but my palette "bloomed" & got funky so I stopped using it. Instead I held onto it to compare swatches & dupe with singles. Easy, right? Those shades are more complex than you think. I must own 50 different shades of "olive" green & none of them matched. Usually they were too grey or too blue compared to the olive green mattes in Gemini. I was a little luckier with the browns, I had a Viseart Theory palette (Cashmere) that had a close match for one of the browns. But everything else was waaaaay too charcoal, orange or red. Those shades are complex, most grungy/pukey type shades are, especially when they're warm. I'm still trying to dupe Gemini but have since kind of settled for "close enough" ( I'm still holding onto the palette for swatch comparisons :) But anyway, I think there is something really special about Melt neutral palettes. If I enjoyed/trusted their formula more I would buy every neutral palette Melt released because I love the unique shade selections & themes.
Do you happen to have the Impulsive double palette? I lusted for it for so long then it wasn’t available.
❤️💖❤️💖
you might have just sold the brunet to me... doggone it 🤣
Wonderful video! Melt is my number 2 fave makeup brand for inspiration. PMG is #1 but she speaks to my glam side, while Melt understands my angst. I missed the Beetlejuice collection but have everything else. I really hope they make a purple based palette since promiscuous from the lovesick stack is their lone ranger besides the BJ collection. Good, bad, or meh, I'm here for it all!😊 edit...I slept on Dana's 27 palette and recently got it and was very sorry😪. It's not your typical warm palette and it IS brown person friendly 😊!
i cant believe there was even a SECOND where i considered getting the Pinx palette rather than the Natasha Love palette. Ducked that nightmare. I think moving to palettes was just plain sumb. i compatred my Blueprint stack to a friends palette- like WHY???? the stacks were wayyyy better quality.
What’s your nail polish? I love it 😍 the purple one
I have many of these…I have been pining away for Millennial pinx …the color story is right up my alley. I really want it…still. Your review makes me want to look for a sale to pick it up
Melt has 25% off on their site now….
Hi Alicia 😍
I'm nearly a year late for this video but this was very helpful, Alicia! Thanks!
I watch your videos on occasion depending on the topic. I am looking for your opinion on the Rust palette and the Gemini palette.
I would like to see them compared to the infamous stacks. I have heard SO many say that their palettes are completely inferior to their stacks. But I don't think I have seen the stacks.
Love hear you speak that words in spanish, good pronunciation (I'm from Puerto Rico). Like a lot their esthetic, but the metallics are so lack of pigment. I have Gemini, She is in parties and Smoke session. Appreciate a lot the video 🤗
Thank you, Yasjel! I’m Puerto Rican as well! I didn’t grow up learning Spanish, but I try my best to still pronounce the words I definitely know!
My thing about melt Metallics is that they don’t have a lot of impact. When you have hooded lids I always spray down a metallic so it doesn’t move and melt tends to fall off even when I spray it down. With a mixing medium it looks awesome but the metallics don’t give punch. I need punch with metallics. But Beetlejuice is my favorite I’m also staring them down and not using them so I guess I gotta start now.
If you like super punchy metallics try JD Glow Metallon shadows. I have hooded eyes as well. Clionadh is also nice but more expensive and longer to receive.
I have this palette but I’m just not that great at makeup so it’s hard to work for me ….
If I wanted to get an olive green pallet, especially the olive metallic what pallet from any brand, any price would you recommend ?
I feel like I love the olive metallic in smoke sessions but I there’s only one matte to go with it. And is it the best metallic I could get in that colour story? Thanks
Sydney Grace has a dupe bundle for Smoke Sessions that’s worth checking out! And the bundle has more than one matte (it has 4!) and the olive “Gold Earth” looks like a hearty bronze olive:

@@aliciaarcher thank you😊
Has anyone told you how beautiful you are today?? If not I find that hard to believe BUT I’ll tell ya anywayzzz Girl! You are beautiful!
At 2:08 RIP GOALZ!!!💚😞
My melt palettes are falling apart every time I open them. I might be done buying melt. I love their color stories, but damn they’re exploding every time I open them. They’ve been sitting on a shelf since I bought them. There’s no good reason for them to be breaking….😢
I didn't have trouble with crumbling at first, but now that I've got some big dips in the pans of my Smoke Sessions they're starting to fall apart. I might try repressing them tho. They're so fragile!
@@AlcideIzMine I’m constantly repressing mine. So frustrating. But they’re so pretty
I just found you today. I love your commentary and also make up but I’m not very good at it. I’m melt fan and have a lot of their palettes. Any shortcomings they may have I attribute to my poor application skills.
Is Thunderbird from Sydney Grace a dupe for GF in Millennial Pinx?
Possibly!? Is that a single or does it exist in a palette?
@@aliciaarcher Its a single. I looked at photo comparisons. I think Thunderbird might be a little light, but Sydney Grace Dusk might be a good dupe!
Hi Alicia my friend!
took advantage of the sale today and got the She's in Parties. I didn't want to take chances, so I got the one everyone loves... plus no brown in that one, I find brown so useless and boring and uninspiring as an eyeshadow lol.
I wish the MaryJane was better quality the color story is beautiful
I think 27 would make an amazing face palette now that I'm looking at it... it's a blushy dream.
I like to use the olive-neutrals of Vida with Gemini.
I think because I always use glitter primer, I don't mind any of Melt's formulas... and then, if I want it to look really special, I might pop some Tammy Tanuka in the middle of my lid...
YUUUUUS! Agreed, and I have small enough cheek brushes to make that work!
I have to try the glitter glue, because that would help tremendously!
@@aliciaarcher NYX glitter primer has been life-altering for a deep-set eye queen such as myself... because my lids rub against each other all day depending on my expression... without NYX the only thing that would last all day is Pat McGrath.
(People can say what they will about the price point of Pat McGrath... but the quality is very evident in the longevity of her products... that's why the price.)
