If you have been diagnosed with PCOS or suspect you have it, what has been the ONE symptom that you have struggled with the most? Please share it below so we can all see just how common this syndrome really is and how vital it is to address it.
I've struggled with the inability to lose weight the most because I really want to. What would you recommend for weight loss in pcos
@@kylahroberts8960 I discussed this in the video! For most healthy PCOS patients, IF seems to work best. Keto works well, too. But whatever you select, you must be able to keep it up long term.
@@MajdMD thank you so much! I think I'm gonna go with IF I think it will work best for me
@@kylahroberts8960 Keep us in the loop as to how it goes!
I struggle a lot with scalp hair loss and losing weight (i have lost 22 lbs in the past 3 months though so that’s getting better). But i do take spironolactone, but i started it years ago for acne before i knew about my pcos. And it works very well with acne and has helped with weight loss, but not so much for me with the scalp hair loss. I see my gyne as often as I can while in college and do let her know about all this too. It is so important to talk about this!
thank you this was such an informative video!!I’ve had so many struggles with PCOS and I barely got diagnosed yesterday. I would get my period every 3 months, losing weight was extremely difficult, and I had acne and some facial hair. I got laser hair removal, and started Intermittent fasting 3 months ago and my weight loss has been significant after that. I also started getting my period about every month and a half after starting IF (which for me is really good). I truly didn’t think it would have such a positive impact when I started this lifestyle change. Now that I know I have PCOS I plan on adjusting my carb intake and slowly reducing it in hopes to manage my PCOS naturally without the need to take any medication.:)
I've gone through 6 years of awful physical and mental health symptoms, but the worst has been hypoglycemia due to hyperinsulinemia. It took 3 years to figure out that my insulin problem (and associated weight gain of about 60 lbs) was actually coming from my PCOS. It has been such a difficult 6 year stretch, but now that my doctors have finally figured out the issue, things are finally looking up!
My biggest struggle: weight gain on the stomach and excessively tired. Don’t wanna work out bcuz I’m tired. 🤦🏾♀️ smh can’t win.
Ehrika Watson Common! talk to your doctor about Intermittent Fasting - it can help speed up metabolism and energy. And decreases insulin resistance and mid-section weight.
@@MajdMD TY i just saw your video on intermittent fasting and i wanna try it out. if i do well i'll comment. Thank you for your videos. Pcos is so hard to deal with and find good info to help.
@@erika_erika2345 I know :( But i hope you found all of this helpful. Keep us in the loop!
Great information and well explained - thank you!
My pleasure! Thank you for watching and taking the time to to leave this wonderful feedback :)
Very good content. Thank you
Parinaz Basiri My pleasure! Glad it was useful in any way.
Very informative. Great video. If I could make one recommendation: can you Leave the names of the medication on the screen for longer?
Will do! Thank you for your feedback!
Can I apply the aforementioned topical cream whilst using retin-a?
For me it has been how tired i feel, weight gain, never knowing if my period will come or when it does for how long and that i struggle with my mood. Sometimes feeling sad not knowing why. I tried the combined pill but because of my hectic work hours I can’t find myself to take it every day at the same time. I was wondering if an IUD could help.
new subscriber - is pcos hairloss reversable when hormones are balanced naturally? Such as scalp loss? is a testosterone of only 55 enough for hairloss in a young pcos woman? I hope there is hope for natural regrwoth ):
Dr. Majd - Thank you for this video. I am now particularly frustrated knowing that all of these treatments have been available and not one of my doctors has ever suggested any of them aside from hormonal birth control. I’m wondering if you would be able to provide a reference for me for a doctor in Utah?
I’m in CA and unfortunately don’t know anyone in Utah. But when i went to search i found this - is university of Utah close to you? Otherwise I would search for an endocrinologist specializing in PCOS if your primary doesn’t feel comfortable managing it: healthcare.utah.edu/fertility/conditions/polycystic-ovary-syndrome.php
Hi Miss, is Hi-Emt or Bodysculpting safe PCOS patients? Thank u so much for your answer.
At this point i'm still very shocked with the negative result I got after suffering from PCOS for so long. 🌿🌿🌿Thanks once again DR RORPOPOR HERBAL on UA-cam for your natural supplements
ive got pcos, but my main gynae issue is endometriosis and adenomyosis :'( , ive been on norethindrone ( i have norethisterone which is the same thing so im told in the uk ) along with IUD mirena and HRT to battle the lovelyness of after effects of going through the menopause. i used to have regularly GNRH decapeptide injections long term to try and battle this lovely concoction of gynae issues i had going on. ive been battling for 10 years since diagnosis ( had it much longer without realising as was on birth control from teens to mid 20's ) one tube and ovary have been removed and the other is as dead as a dead thing can be but my hormones and side effects still are lasting till i have my remaining ovary removed during total hyst surgery.
Endometriosis -- another challenging womens health topic, i'll place that on my list to cover. I'm sorry you've experienced all of that :( Wishing you great health.
Well definitely the long menstrual cycles did it for me! I’ve never been skinny so I don’t know how that feels 😫 my weight has always fluctuated from 150Lbs -180lbs I’ve noticed that when my weight is at 180 that’s when my menstrual cycles go crazy. For the past 10 yrs I’ve kept my weight in the 160’s but recently Since 11/2020 My daughter was diagnosed with bone tumor and my life changed drastically I’ve been dealing with stress anxiety and depression so I gained a solid 25lbs. My physician suggested an IUD mirena.. And metformin.

Thank you for making this video! I was diagnosed with PCOS 8 years a go. My symptoms present as stomach weight, infertility, low energy, brain fog, and hair loss. I’ve been on metformin for 5 years. My periods vary between 32-45 days and I have debilitating cramps and back pain. I’ve noticed pain/discomfort in the kidney region during my period recently, and increases thirst, I ensure I’m adequately hydrated regardless of the time of the month; is this a “normal” side effect of mensuration? Thank you!
Increased thirst is not common, but of course possible. Because PCOS people have increased risk of prediabetes/diabetes, make sure your doctor tests you for that -- as it can cause thirst. Thank you for your kind words and for watching!
I experienced amenorrhea and PCOS for 1.5 years.. it has been though and I had to gain a lot of weight to see my period come back... I also talked about it in one of my UA-cam videos but in brief it has been a long and difficult journey in which I’m still struggling to accept my body. 😪
You have control over PCOS - you can change it all around. It will take effort and it may not be easy, but you can do it. You do not have to "accept" the syndrome, you have the power so do not give up ever.
🙋🏾♀️ the hair growth and the unpredictable periods
Thank you . We need you to recommend natural supplements as well
As we all now hear a lot of risks and side effects for synthetic hormones
I’ve been taking inositol for a month now and I fell pregnant but unfortunately lost it today 💔
Healing Butterfly Oh i am so very sorry to hear :( I just want you to know that “natural” supplements are also processed, not FDA approved (so we don’t know how harmful they are or if they’re effective), and also pose risks. Just because it’s “natural” it doesn’t mean it’s safe.
Weight management has been an issue for me, started intermittent fasting on April 2 , 20 and I lost 6 pounds. I started fasting using the 16:8 method now this week I am doing the 20:4 one, no new results yet but I will keep trying
Raqci B don’t give up. It can take a few weeks for IF to kick in. Initially you will feel less bloating. And then the weight starts to drop off. You may hit some plateaus along the way, but stick with it.
Quick update I lost 20 pounds so far April 2 ,2010 to 7/31/20 . I am sticking with the 20:4 intermittent fasting some days are more difficult than others but I am not giving up. My blood work is showing better results and my clothes are fitting better. I will keep updating my results
Hello Dr
I would like to know does progesterone creams works for PCOS?
No
So I have been having stomach pains and weird feeling for weeks. They come and go. They don’t really bother me or hurt like stabbing pain or anything, it just feels like I’m about to be on my cycle. I’ve already had it this month though. I also sometimes get pain on the lower left side of my stomach and sometimes the right side. When it first started, my stomach ran off 3 times, and I felt like I was gonna throw up. I haven’t had diarrhea or my stomach running off since I had a stomach virus, and that was when I was like in the 3rd or 4th grade! Recently, for the past few days I’ve been eating way to much. My book bag was filled with chips From school lunches, now it a few bags in there. I don’t know how many chip bags I’ve gone through, but I know it was a lot of them in there. I also have been eating lots of things with high calories, but low cholesterol and carbs. Stuff like nutrition bars. I am big in on my backside and big on my Tatas, but my thighs surprisingly aren’t that big. I do have a shape, but I’m starting to get hips dips( slightly. you can’t really tell) I also have not been to the doctor in 4 years and never been to an obgyn. Yeah, a lot of insurance problems. Oh!, I’m also 15.
Emma, i'd highly encourage you to see your primary care doctor. That's a lot to go through alone.
Majd MD yeah. I also used to have heart aches almost everyday, but they don’t come as often as they used to anymore. I just don’t want anything that’s coming or already have come, to turn terminal or where it’s no point in treating.
Hi! I was diagnosed with pcos . Found out my tubes were blocked from my ectopic pregnancy last year. What are some treatments or medicines that i need to take? Thanks

I’m experiencing hair growth on my face and dark marks from plucking it , I take metformin morning & night with food but I feel it really isn’t doing much. I really need help to get my period again and help losing weight I also am on birth control pill. I am 22 years old.
Spironolactone nearly has my skin flawless. Also I take Chinese vitex and it helps regulate my cycles instead of birth control but ask your doctor
Everything... it's really debilitating. No amount of regular, healthy diet and exercise has helped with the weight loss. I walk go on long walks and hiles 2-3 times a week and eat fairly healthy, even my health-obsessed mom thinks so. Doctors are often baffled at how I'm not diabetic and am in fairly good health outside my weight. But even when I was only 125lbs in my early 20s I still had severe PCOS symptoms. Progestine /mini pills make me bleed so much that I get anemic. The only time I felt normal was when I was on just straight progesterone, but my doctor has become obsessed with getting me on an IUD, which I have had and know that they are awful for me. All I want is to get pregnant, but frequently being told "oh just lose weight" isn't helping anyone but my doctor's state of mind...
My biggest struggle is Weight gains on my stomach and tiredness. And recently my doctor just told me I was at risk of hyperthyroidism. I just started alternate day fasting. Trying to conceive, but haven’t had my period since feb. Advice please 🙏🙏
I hear stories like yours very commonly in PCOS women. Do you have an endocrinologist or primary doctor who feels comfortable treating PCOS?
I have it and iron deficiency anemia. Iron and metformin
Very informative
i have pcos and i m obese, so this helped alot. :)
Ilsa Zia So glad it was helpful in any way. Thank you for watching it.
I don’t know what to do ! I’m 34 I didn’t have a period for almost 3 years until I was induced a period with provera. My doctor wants me on birth control but I want to conceive. I also have rheumatoid arthritis and birth control can cause more inflammation. I have PCOS and over weight. :(

When I was first diagnoised with PCOS my GP wanted to me to go on the pill. She asked me if I had a blood clot before and I said no and my mum said that my dad takes an injection before a long haul flight. She gave me a blood test and I have one of the blood clot mutation. So no pill for me.
I have never in my life given room to any talk or ideas about herbs . I see herbs as hazardous substance and so I abhor any talk about herbs...I am a lady who have being trying to conceive for many years. I was told by doctor that I have block fallopian tube n fibroid. Ever since then I have been taking drugs all to no avail .. My story changed when a friend introduced me to dr unuayan that heals using l said he strictly believe in the use of herbs for treatment such as fibroid , PCOS, block tube ,ovarian cyst etc.. I asked him some question basically how he got to know about herbs .. He told me his brief history how he got his knowledge of herbs from his late father and promise me that I will return thanking him ..I order for the herbs which he sent to me through a DHL courier company he gave me instruction on how to be taking the herbs. and today I thank God it works for me ... I am a mother of a baby boy. I'm simply testifying over my breakthrough. What an how I did to conceive after years of struggling .on whatsapp+2348118752627

Hey miss Doctor give me Neomycin sulphate, Beclomethasone dipropionate, Clotrimazole cream For fungal infection Can you tell me this cream is good or not
Please reply if you will see my comment
i can't say if the product is specifically "good" or not, but the clotrimazole component is an antifungal!
Body hair. I was going to take Spiro but the side effects scare me pretty badly.
most people don't experience side effects. But i'd review your concerns with your doctor.
did u end up taking it?
Ever since I’ve got my period at the age of 12 I have been getting a lot of hair lost and I have had a lot of body hair since then and my recent period I have had it for 11 days I’ve had this problem before but it was go 14 days

Hello Majd I am 22 year old female my doctor diagnosed pcos when I was 21 year old female my doctor subscribe some medicine call medroxyprogesterone ten mg I been on treatment for 14 month that is a yes that is the trust
I’ve tried the hormonal treatments like meds , it effected my psychological well being
Did it help u in a good way
@@soadouri1798 in my experience I didn’t have good experience on the hormonal treatment. If effected my psyche. Had to check into the hospital.
What has worked for me is changing my diet no dairy , no gluten, no process food, cut sugar, cut salt.
Manage stress, get enough sleep. Doc can give you all the meds in the world, but it comes down life style changes.
Hey am i am 23 years old and i got married.and my weight is 48kg.I have a problem with PCOD and my doctor has given me a metformin teblet. I start vomiting while taking the tablet. Plz help me
I'm so sorry to hear :( Yes, it can cause gastrointestinal symptoms in some patients. Taking it with meals helps. If that doesn't work, there is an extended release version that may lessen the symptoms a tad. Also, it's typically the worse in the first few weeks and then it dissipates as the body gets used to it typically.

why don’t Drs treat pcos without medication? it’s possible, so whats stopping them? When u come off of meds, the symptoms return so it was never a treatment to begin with :(
We certainly do! Lifestyle modification is always first, i have another video on this. And yes, there’s no “cure” for PCOS, but it can be “controlled” through lifestyle modifications and sometimes medications.
