I don't usually take smoker or fear of blood. Anxiety build up that leads to depression is too annoying to deal with when you have to move tons of inventory around. I used to max out darkness debuff resistance, so park ranger 15%, cat's eyes 20%, outdoorsman 5%, hunter 5%, former scout 3%, hiker 3%. This resulted in a 51% decrease in darkness debuff meaning you could always forage indoor or outside, since darkness at 50% and greater prevented new foraging spawns. However, with the new changes to darkness, this no longer works indoors, and you can't open your map to see where you are in the middle of a forest at night either. I usually take reluctant fighter / pacifist because there are infinite amount of zombies. I don't mind leveling fighting skills twice as long, though the maintenance skill taking longer really sucks in the new build. I might reconsider or find a work around just for maintenance. Wakeful is insane. If you haven't seen retinaru's videos on traits, this is a straight buff to your sleep AND your fatigue regen, no matter what fitness level you're at. Back in 41 you used to be able to take weak and build it up with exercise reasonably, even in cdda, but that's not the case anymore. feeble is still a strong option if you play your combat slower until you get your strength up cowardly is free points in my opinion. If you ever decide to take on a huge hoard, you pop some beta blockers. plus world age at 30 days plus helps mitigate this as well, but it obviously takes a while to survive that long. hard of hearing is also free points, just increase your in game volume, lower the music and you're golden. I don't like high thirst anymore because water sources are low, purification takes a while, carrying extra water is a lot of weight, and you only gain one point now. Other than that, pretty similar.
I see but with a good sleep routine you can get the most out of daylight each day at 5:20 and go home at 6 , 7pm ish so darkness shouldnt be as much of a problem ... and as for weapon skills i think its really important to have one xp boost on a weapon type because every level you get less and less fatigue and strain ... i couldve add cowardly there too because im using Become Desensitized mod so after killing some zombies you are immune to panic anyway and for high thirst you seem to be able to drink tainted water from the lake without any issues in small doses ofc so yeah my main problem is just gaining weight now ...
In my current run ( one month old ) I went with the Park ranger , for the negatives i chose - Thinned skinned , fear of blood , conspicuous , prone to illness , weak stomach , Reluctant fighter , slow healer and slow reader. The positives - Cats eyes , dextrous , wakefull , gymnast , Blacksmith knowledge , fast learner and keen hearing , ive picked up very low weight which im hoping to fix with trapping and fishing . Ive had lots of injuries from bushes and three separate colds.
Nvm I asked too soon. To be honest though I feel like much of the charm in the challenge lies in doing it the vanilla way with no modifications, just going from what the game itself and the new build have to offer for you to beat.
@@zeratultemplar6604 i mean the game is unstable beta and a lot of things need changes and balance , beside i think the idea of not being able to smoke completely because you are fit is absurd ... also cigars makes you to go out there and kill more zombies lol
@@bogykhan yeah but it's not something the game would allow on its own so that's setting up your own rules straying away from the designed experience :p it may be unfinished but it's still what the devs are going for, at the very least currently
@ I definitely did. Conspicuous on top of the melee sound attracting zombies made it super hard. They wouldn’t stop coming Everytime I fought a zombie.
Thank you love your video not many play cdda I find it really fun

This build is good but im not sure about low weight .... its really hard to get food in winter cdda and also im struggling to catch fish as well ...
Waiting for episode 5
Im assuming you have fatigue disabled on the the save? Figured CDDA would be impossible otherwise
@@stevenvassiliou2939 no sir i didn't touch anything in the settings its just cdda raw experience.
Wait aren't smoker and athletic mutually exclusive?

@@zeratultemplar6604 i agree with you here but regardless its no big change to the gameplay ?! if anything its a downside to have smoker lmao
conspicuous is def not worth it in build 42.
why not ? to behonset i didn't even notice the difference if they changed it

Thin skin is terrible for cdda, you would get so much scarch in the wood
It doesn't seem to effect you if you wear clothing, since clothing has to be ripped up before it can get to your skin
Its not as bad as you think if you combo it with outdoorsy but sure i get some cuts here and there
