THE ORDINARY ANTIOXIDANTS - Expert honest review going behind the science
With so many to choose from it can be hard to know which antioxidant in skincare works. It can be even harder to find a drugstore antioxidant. Fortunately The Ordinary Skincare have come to the rescue with 3 fantastic antioxidants all at drugstore prices.
In this video our skincare expert Rob breaks down each of the antioxidants, how they work and what results you can expect. Stay tuned if you want to know which ordinary antioxident is right for you.
The ordinary EUK134 0.1 has a complex mechanism of action and self regenerates providing 24 hour protection from ageing
Pycnogenol may be impossible to pronounce but its a powerhouse antioxodant which works perfectly with vitamin C as it is the only ingredient known to de-oxidise vitamin C allowing it to be recycled and used again by the skin.
Finally The Ordinary resveratrol 3 + ferulic acid 3 is a wonderful drugstore dupe for the wildly expensive C E Ferulic by Skinceuticals and an around amazing antioxidant.
So which is the best drugstore antioxidant ? Leave a comment to let us know your choice, give this video a thumbs up and dont forget to follow us on Instagram @skinmad

I am a huge fan of EUK. Been using it since it was released and figured out a good routine for it. For the am: amino acids, niacinimide, matrixyl, then I make brekkie and allow these serums to sink in, and finish off with EUK 15 mins later. Leaves my skin moisturised and healthy under my SPF + makeup throughout the day.
At night, I use it after retinol.
I alternate each night with each of the three ordinary antioxidants!
So every other night, lactic acid 10% + pycnogenol + Marula oil,
Then the next night I’ll use vitamin C 23% + resveratrol + ferulic acid. Rinse, repeat.
Skin has never looked so good

Thanks for this video. I recently tried their Pycnogenol and loved the effects on my skin so much so that I actually purchased Pycnogenol supplements and began using them as well. I've run out of the serum and definitely notice a loss of a certain brightness and fullness in my skin. I'm in my mid 30s and often get mistaken for mid 20s but I definitely know what I used to look like compared to what I look like now and I look older for sure. The Pycnogenol made me look...I guess just sorta more glowy and lovely. Hard to put into words but I am a fan. BTW, two months ago I watched just about every UA-cam video on the Ordinary's Pycnogenol serum and you're the only person who has explained its impact on Vit C in any comprehensible way. Thanks very much for that. Still waiting for it to come back in stock but until then I may try the Resveratrol. Cheers.

My 2 go-to’s are Pycnogenol 5% in the morning and then the Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% (mixed with the 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder) at night. Both have worked wonders on my skin. I do like the thought of how the EUK 134 0.1% preforms so I think I’ll give that one a try as a replacement in my morning routine. Thank you so much for the information!

Yes I just bought the timeless from target and it was only 21$ I have seen many youtuber a recommend it and it’s so much cheaper than the skincuticals one at 166$. I like that it is a watery consistency so I just need a small amount because it spreads out nicely and absorbs great so my makeup looks good over it. It tingles the first couple times using it bc I have sensitive skin and it’s a 20% vit c which is the highest you can get over the counter. But now my skin doesn’t tingle at all. I like that it comes in a pump instead of a dropped to prevent it from oxidizing too fast and I also like that they print the manufacturing date on the box so I know when it was bottled and am sure it hadn’t been sitting on a shelf for long so it’s potent. I keep it in the fridge to keep it fresh.

I mix 3 drops with the Ordinary hydrating cream to dilute (because apparently 1% resveratrol is recommended not 3%) in the morning and night on face and next and feels great! I have two questions regarding use of E UK. First I'm practically at the expiration and still have about a quarter of a bottle left. It says to use within 6 months. How seriously do you take that? Is it all the sudden not going to work anymore at 6 months time? Or is it just less potent? I hate wasting it but you only need a few drops and I don't use it every night due to acids. The other question is if I'm using it with the inkey list retinol, and I put the retinol on First and let it sink in, put other serums on, and wait a little while to apply EUK/ moisturizer, will the hpr or retinoic acid in the retinol render it useless?

Great review! So adorable how you said pycnogenol. I think the way we say it in the states is pick-naw-gen-ol. So I've been using that EUK for about half a year now at nights. It does take a while to sink in oh, so I mix it with my Moisturizer in the palm of my hand rather than using it as a serum and that seems to be working better for me. I bought it after I saw an interview with Brandon the founder of the ordinary because he was so excited about it the fact that it self-regenerating. I've never found a way to make it work under my sunscreen in the morning. Does wonders for redness due to retinoid and acid use.

I want to incorporate Pycnogenol, Ferulic Acid & Reservatrol with my L-Ascorbic acid in my morning routine. Is it safe to dilute the L-Ascorbic Acid powder in the ferulic acid & Reservatrol solution, then layer pycnogenol on top or should I not be using all three in the same morning routine? I read that Pycnogenol is great with Vitamin C as is ferulic acid but I can't find anything online about using all three in the same routine, only that both are great with vitamin C. I have combination skin, and redness, deep wrinkles in my forehead and some wrinkling around my mouth and eyes, deep wrinkles on my smile lines. No acne. My skin is more dry during the winter so I was thinking of using the organic pressed rose hip seed oil after the pycnogenol before my moisturizer to hydrate my skin more. Again this is all part of what I was planning for my morning skin routine. Is it too much? I know rosehip seed oil oxidizes and was hoping the pycnogenol would have a similar effect on that as it would on Vitamin C. Am I wrong in assuming it would? If Rosehip oil is too much or won't work in that regimen, would their Hemi Squalane solution before a moisturizer work instead for added hydration in the winter?

Hi 💝Merry Christmas! ... Can you recommend a affordable Vit C Serum (hopefully by The Ordinary) and is vit C to be used in am or pm? Right now at Night I use Pycnogenol, Buffet, Niacinamide (on chin and around nose for pores) and Argireline (on forhead, lip lines and under eyes). In the Morning I use Argireline & Mytrixil 3000....all by The Ordinary 😚 Love talking skin care! Just subscribed too!! Thanks!

Aww thank you so much for supporting the channel and Happy Christmas hun.. I would recommend the ordinary ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate solution in vitamin F.. Its gentle and hydrating and will give a, gorgeous glow without being drying and irritating.. You can use it daily but always in the morning just before your moisturiser as your last serum.. Sending lots of love xxxx
