I LOVE the fact that you release these long-form mash-up/summary videos of your projects. I can't imagine how much time it takes you to do these but it's appreciated.
@@q_m_a_g_a Oh come now. Building an entire house is difficult work, even if they make it look easy. There's a lot of knowledge, time, material gathering, and effort put into building an entire home. You can't down play how incredibly difficult it is to build a house of this caliber.
@q_m_a_g_a You isn't entirely wrong as far as the layout and framing your subfloor, walls, and second-story floor and walls, but the difficult part about it is when it comes time to get the long exterior walls raised and stood up. The heavy walls and other labor intensive aspects of a build is the hard part. Like I said, you aren't entirely wrong either. Making sure everything is square, plumb and true isn't hard either in framing.
for as long as you have the passion to make these videos, you will forever have a viewer in me. Absolutely a joy waiting for the videos every few days. Just as a thought if you ever feel tired or frustrated having to do editing, know you do an amazing job and thousands and thousands of us are so excited every week.
This makes me so happy!! Almost 3 hours absolutely watching it all!! Arlo’s smile at around 35 minutes leveling that wall just makes you smile 😀 happy retirement Arlo!!
There are no words that could describe how much I enjoy these guys build. Informative..entertaining...and awesome content all the way around. I look foward to every video they upload.
All my best wishes to Arlo. I loved the programme when all the gang were boarding out Arlo’s new house. Arlo’s older house blew me away. I’m in the UK and there was style period called the arts and crafts movement. I don’t know if you have something similar in the US but I thought Arlo’s house was stunning. I think Arlo is a true craftsman and I hope he finds something to occupy his time.
The funny thing is the US and Britain have always maintained architectural connections. Including just after the revolution, when you would assume the opposite. We both went through all the same era, and phases of architecture. Including the arts and crafts movement.
I was a trim carpenter for many years and I've never seen framing performed with the precision that these men do. I had a crew put up the trusses and sheath my house last year. When sighting down the ridge, it looked like a sin wave. Plum, level and square are only achieved accidentally! Accuracy is a myth around here. The Perkins Builder Brothers frame a home like they are building a cabinet. The most skill craftsmen I've ever seen.
Professional framer here... They put on a class in how to lose money framing or not make money, work dangerously off a scaffold. I would be surprised if their work is really that good. Hinged wall framing at stairwells.
Facts. I did trim package on 600 apt. Not one cabinet fell on 16” centers. Trim had gaps up to one inch literally. Mexicans built them. No level no tape measure. No chalk line. They went off feel apparently.
@@trinkladd Yep. That's who put my trusses up and sheathed. I would have done it myself if I had help that I could count on and wouldn't sue my if they got a splinter. That's the only real reason I hired it out, because I couldn't take a chance on someone suing me without workman's comp. ins.
I have been watching your videos for a while. Is Arlo missed yet since he retired. He always seemed to have a good solution. I watched this build video by video and still enjoyed this one. Thank you and hope Arlo enjoys his retirement.
I love watching these builds start to finish. All of you are very intertaining to watch. You've got to have fun while you work it helps the day go by faster. Ray your beard look real good. All of you stay safe!🙏
Great job and fun to watch. A painting tip for your siding is to caulk the butt joints as you install to get the caulk all the way to the siding. When you're ready to paint, run a second bead slightly proud of the joint and smooth it with a putty knife. This transfers the wood grain profile to the caulk and makes the seem look invisible when painted..
I know nothing about anything in these videos, but I love watching them. The way the videos are edited are extremely entertaining and easy to understand. Literally can't stop
Cleaning up after getting paint on your hands, etc. I use Cleansing cold cream (oil based paint) . Never bothered with latex based though. Never needed it. You guys are excellent, and fun to watch! Great work, AND good times!
Hi guys I live watching you past projects I appreciate how much time it takes to put these videos together, but I do prefer these long ones love to work with u guys good team you got
The attention to detail you pay and the care with which you build are soooo impressive. I would hire you guys in a nanosecond to build a home for me. Your customers are most fortunate. 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽

Love the team, love the work and even more love how you all work together so well during work and after !!! You need to get the old guy back out of retirement! Offer him a t-shirt and a million dollar signing bonus!!! Ha! Miss you arlo !
Very much appreciate the care, craftsmanship, and fun that you guys put into your work. I would be thrilled if all the contractors I worked with were like you guys!
I’m nothing more than a mediocre DIYer myself, but your videos are my favourite on UA-cam. I have watched every single episode and wait eagerly for the next one to be released. Keep up the good work team - this is good wholesome entertainment.
We love watching your videos! My husband is a contractor and doing a gut job/ Reno on our 1940 home in Sylva. Wow! I made it! The full 2 hours 44 minutes. Didn't think I would but you and your crew are real entertainers as well as top tradesmen, Very Well done.
I might just have to build this one! Absolutely great content. I'm glad I found you guys a couple of days ago. In the middle of a major Home maintenance push. I'm learning tons of great techniques from you guys that are saving time, frustration and stupid tool purchases. I love the attention to detail and commitment to quality. It's clear they also spent a lot of time together and know how to have a good time, keep things light and work through the junk when it comes around. Feels like a Band of Brothers.
