i miss the pavilion so bad; my family and i made so many great memories there, like when i rode my first roller coaster with my uncle and cousin. they literally had to drag me onto the hurricane. i can't believe some people are greedy enough to take away a historical landmark. RIP PAVILION!!
I am a local and no resident in the city wanted to get rid of it. It brought so much money in, and they put the zip line in which was the biggest mistake. Eighty percent of locals want it back
This was a great video. I grew up at the Pavillion. When I was a kid, I visited Myrtle Beach every year, and I'd always go to the Pavillion. I miss it. I rode my first coaster, the Hurricane, there. Thanks for sharing.
It really makes me mad that they tore down the pavilion! I've been going to Myrtle Beach for 37 years now, ever since I was a little girl with my family. I have so many memories there and it was literally heart breaking to me that it's all gone now. I think everyone will agree that the pavilion on the grand strand is what made it so awesome!!! As a teenager, there was nothing more fun than walking the strand, late at night flirting with all the boys! lol They tore it down in 2006, the same year my Daughter was born, I hate she won't be able to have the same amazing memories as I did when I was growing up. Family kingdom is cool, but it can NOT compare to the Pavilion! Whoever sold it, I really, REALLY dislike you, greedy ass!
I Loved the Pavillion especially the good ol' whiplashing Hurricane. I chipped a tooth my first time riding it, I smacked my face into the safety bar :P I'll never forget that park. Long live the Hurricane!
I went one week before bike week back in Sept 2013. Its an empty lot with a zip line ride. They added new rides to Family Kingdom that came from the failed Hard Rock Park. The parking deck is still there but the city feels so empty without The Pavilion :-(
This was what made the beach so awesome, all the rides and everything lit up at night,it was fuckin awesome now its gone, its so sad almost makes ya cry, been goin there everytime i went to the beach, great video and good song for it.
Thank you sosososo much for making this video. I remember going here as a little kid and being so excited I couldn't stand it. I'm 15 now, but this place like WAS my childhood. I miss it so much ):
They're gonna have a Huge Ferris Wheel along Ocean Blvd. this year / this summer! Can't wait to see what it's gonna look like when they get done with it. They should transfer the Time Machine coaster at Freestyle and put it where the Pavilion once was. That'd be awesome!
I really liked this parks sign I loved that they reused it when they moved some of the rides over to Broadway at the Beach but those classics are gone as well as the sign
@RumRunnerPirate i remember those things so sad that they tore the place down if you were young the attic was where you wanted to go and then as you got older it was mother fletchers when you got a little older and now they all are gone
Sadly, no. But the track and supports for the Wild Mouse are at the NASCAR Speed Park, I believe. When you pass by the place you can see all of the stuff for the Wild Mouse.
Great video I heard they were going to puta casino. right now it is just a grass field i live down the street and i have heard all kinds of stuff its funny the hard rock park (free stile music park) is already closed who knows
I had it rated as comparable to MM's Psyclone, Hercules, and Sonny v.1...and slightly below Rattler and the revamped Sonny. I'm a big fan of aggressive rides, but sometimes the roughness is just TOO much for me (rarely, hehe).
Hurricane was bad to me. I tried all of the seats, no matter which, each was rough as heck! The Pavilion should had kept onto their CorkScrew steel coaster. It was short, yes, but atleast it went upside down.
I hated hated hated Son Of Beast when I last rode it in 05... Herc I kinda liked.. But I hadnt been on as many ride as I have now back when I rode it (around 96-97)
This place was my childhood. Though I'm not really sure why they got rid of it. I heard that all the men in the family who owned it died and the women in the family thought it was tacky and got rid of it.
Yeah, they are one greedy bunch, thinking Hard Rock Park was gonna be a hit, yeah, it was a "hit" alright. LOL Only ride worth riding was Led Zeppelin, now Time Machine. My favorite ride at the Pavilion was the Rainbow, but after seeing one malfunction at a park in Sweden, i don't know if it is or not. If the Pavilion was still going, i'd want the Rainbow replaced with a nice old fashioned Ferris Wheel. What happened?, the lower driveshaft in the bottom arm broke, keeps the gondola upright.
Hard Rock Park & Freestyle died like they did 'cuz people don't wanna get in their car & drive 5 miles away from the beach when you've got a nice park there on the beach. Family Kingdom's doing better now. Oh gee, I wonder y? On the beach! Burrough's & Chapin effed up BIG time! SkyWheel & Sling Shot do well too! Y's that? Look where they r. LOL Not 5 miles "away" from the beach.
@RumRunnerPirate i remember those things so sad that they tore the place down if you were young the attic was where you wanted to go and then as you got older it was mother fletcher's when you got a little older and now they all are gone
This video almost made me cry. I miss the Pavilon. Thank you for preserving memories like this!
I miss the Pavillion, but at least I got to share the memories with my kids. Thank you!
ty...for making me cry my eyes out...had so many fond memories of this place its nice to see all those rides in action agian..
Love this video. Thank you so much for being back all those sweet memories I had in the 90’s and early 2000’s at the pavilion and myrtle beach
Absolutely the best Pavilion video on UA-cam. Well done sir.

Let's take action and raise money protest and do a survey then so it to the city of myrtle beach to get it back I miss the pavilion
Great video, and very sad. Greed is killing this country.

If you listen to that "red hat" dumbass over on Facebook, this happened because he likes music festivals more than rides.
I Loved the Pavillion especially the good ol' whiplashing Hurricane. I chipped a tooth my first time riding it, I smacked my face into the safety bar :P I'll never forget that park. Long live the Hurricane!
this video was AMAZING. it truly captured the pavillion. i miss it so badly. :(
Thanks for preserving some great memories! You did a fantastic job on this video.

Surprisingly looks really good! I can't wait to see more of you in the next one.
Thank you sosososo much for making this video. I remember going here as a little kid and being so excited I couldn't stand it. I'm 15 now, but this place like WAS my childhood. I miss it so much ):
That place was alot fun
This was my first amusement park. So sad what they did to it 😢
MYRTLE BEACH WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!
RIP MBP....glad I got to visit a couple times. Even if Hurricane was one of the worst wooden coasters I've ever ridden.
Estuve en Myrtle Beach que bonito!😯🏖️

I remeber going when I was really young, but I don't remember much, we didn't go but a couple of times, even though I only live an hour away.
cantt believe its been 3 years already
The roller coaster was the Little Eagle kiddie coaster, the ride right after was the flying bobs.
@RumRunnerPirate
i remember those things so sad that they tore the place down if you were young the attic was where you wanted to go and then as you got older it was mother fletchers when you got a little older and now they all are gone
They ruined the beach when they destroyed this!
The Greedy owners weren't making enough money even though they are already millionaires.
RIP Myrtle Beach Pavilion!!!

I was too little to ride any of the big rides It really hurts I vaguely remember this park
i miss the pavillion i dont think anything can compare to it
@jessicalb90 The Rainbow. Its kinda like a one-car Ferris Wheel but fast.
Good bye old friend.
you can get the credits, except Hurricane at the Nascar Park in MB.
I had it rated as comparable to MM's Psyclone, Hercules, and Sonny v.1...and slightly below Rattler and the revamped Sonny. I'm a big fan of aggressive rides, but sometimes the roughness is just TOO much for me (rarely, hehe).
lol.. Only a few people have seen my next video (as they helped with it in some way) but the reviews have all been good so far ;)
im goin to the beach tommorow its a longdrive
Great footage! Did someone say you did all of that on a digital camera video thingy?
As my wife and I got older, we delayed going back to the Pavilion.....My Carolina Girl went hhome last month .... Kids ...Seize The Day!!!

Did they ever set them up?
3:39 they still have that
Uh.. It says what the song is right in the video info! If you had read it.. You wouldnt have had to ""find"" it!!!!!!!1 >:O
yes. lol
ANYBODY REMEMBER THE OLD RIDE THE WILD MOUSE?
Yeah, they are one greedy bunch, thinking Hard Rock Park was gonna be a hit, yeah, it was a "hit" alright. LOL Only ride worth riding was Led Zeppelin, now Time Machine. i miss the haunted mansion.
They sold the land.. And now its just a parking lot.
Yo ass aint got'em?

I really didnt think it was that bad. yes, it lacked airtime.. But it was far from the worst ride ever.
no gay dolphin is still there
@RumRunnerPirate
