Hey there! Thank you very much for the video and the lead to Murrays Carbs!! Next wednesday I will own a 1981 CB 750F which even before I see it has been said to have idling problems with newly rebuilt carbs. I have watched several rebuild videos and seen the struggles EVERYONE has with getting them out, back in, and tuned in etc. Even though they are expensive, I think I would be crazy to not order a set of Murrays. The reviews are good, they sound so much easier to install and the performance is improved! Win win win! So you have really helped me already on my personal ride project bike I am about to receive into my life! Cheers and all the best to you and your ride and happy days ahead!

Replace the rubber boots fore & aft of the carbs. That will help with fitment. Regarding getting the throttle & choke cables connected, connect them before the carb bank is seated on the head. If it were easy, there'd be old bikes all over the place. Best of luck.

Exactly you do the cables first off to the side of the bike first. None is super easy but after a few times it gets much easier.

Good luck on the new carbs. If you were to go pods you would have to change the main and slow jets and also mess with the A/F screws to get it good. Great seeing you.

You are wrong! I realize that I could get this to work with enough patience, but I don't have it. I've done this before, but that was years ago, and I don't see myself fiddling much more in my life. It's time to get something that has a proven track record, that I can install.

Hey! Thanks for the comment! The new carbs are on their way and I shouldn't have any more issues with the install given the room that I'll have once the airbox is removed. The new carbs come with everything I need, included being jetted for my set up. Hope all is well!

I'd sell those carbs on the internet. I'm sure there's some carb guru out there who can rehab them or they need them for parts. Suggestion, check Amazon and find an LED replacement headlight for that bike. The LED ones will make visibility (being seen and seeing after dark) much safer.

Ooh, that's a good idea! Smart idea. There must be an led bulb that fits directly.

It’s a real shoulder workout pushing those carbs back on,
heating up the boots with a hair dryer and rocking the carbs up and down will seat them easy.
Took me like 4 months to finally dial my cb650 carbs having no experience. Not fun

How's it running now that you seem to have it dialed in?

@@GettinJunkDone it was great for a few weeks, got another issue I haven’t dug into yet now. Think it’s electrical this time

Sometimes you got to know when to call it and move on. The aftermarket carbs are probably better anyway. I am looking at the same thing on my slant 6 - poor carb wore out the throttle shaft bore.

You're not kidding. I debated back and forth about these carbs vs a new aftermarket setup, and I just decided it wasn't worth my aggravation. My time does mean something and I'd rather be riding the thing instead of tinkering. I'm actually expecting the delivery today!
