I bought an extra set of CB750 carbs on Facebook Marketplace for 100 bucks. I got them just so I could take them completely apart, clean everything and reassemble them for educational purposes. If I screw up, they're an extra set so it's not the end of the world. I'm in the process of ultrasonic cleaning everything at the moment. So far so good. When I'm done I should have a nice clean extra set of carbs I can use on my bike or resell to someone.

The full paid-for course is well worth the money. I watched a dozen videos, have 3 manuals - but it was your $40 video series I kept going back to this weekend as I rebuilt my 1993 Nighthawk carbs. Honestly I don't know if I would have discovered my damaged vacuum diaphragms without your full video.
The Factory manual confirms they need to be replaced even if only a pinhole, as the slide won't stay in correct position.
I didn't even notice the small splits and holes in the rubber until I stretched them like you show on the course. These same carbs were used in the 84-85 Nighthawk 700 with shaft drive.

I always add Sta bil to the last couple of tanks of the season to run it though, shut the fuel valve off and run them dry before winter storage. Also make sure the tank is clear full with the treated fuel. Never had a problem with carbs on my old bikes. Also always add Sta bil to my lawn equipment gas cans all the time.

I am so glad I took the time to watch your video. I have been pondering buying a 1992 750 CB I love the style and riding position but I’m getting to the point in my life where wrenching on old bikes has become tedious. I don’t think there is any techs in my area I can trust to do it correctly so I’ll stay bike-less for now. I got spoiled, the last two bikes I had were FI and shaft drive. I’ll never go back. I just have to find a bike with hydraulic lifters? Thanks for getting me back from the precipice lol

Nice video, I had to encourage people to replies fuel rings. I used a $8 carb brush set from Amazon. The OEM kit replaces all the brass (except choke). The All Balls Racing was disappointing. I wish you put the pilot screws in there. People miss the little and double stack them. But you’ll have that in the full build! People are taking interest in the ‘90s NH. Great time for this video!

Hi Cody, I just finished the rebuild of the carbs. All nice and clean. Already in place and synced.
Now the difficult will be the pilot screw adjustment as I installed new ones (Keyster rebuild kit).
So the question is: besides using the supet expensive honda tool or the super fancy motion pro 90⁰ tool, none of my tools reach the 2 and 3.
What is you recommendation? Can you share your wisdom?

One thing I do in addition is hit the exterior parts of the carbs with a brass wire brush on a drill. Also I get the brass interior parts separately with it as well (while removed of course). It also makes the tops shine like new and surprisingly without bad scratch marks. All screws, springs and choke parts get the same treatment. Just don't use it on interior or fragile bits.

Is contact break cleaner better to spray into those passageways than carb cleaner? I've cleaned my 1975 CB750 carbs a couple times and I only just recently figured out that the air screw seat has a hole at the bottom that leads down into the tunnel the pilot jet uses. For the life of me I couldn't figure out how that screw was effecting the idle (among other things.). You can't really see the hole when you look into where the screw sits (even using a flashlight and a magnifying glass) but I stuck a thin guitar string into that hole and realized it didn't stop where I thought it should, it continued down into the pilot jet passageway. Kind of embarrassed I didn't realize that sooner. The rest of the carb is pretty obvious (vents, main jet and needle valve seat).

I just got a 84 honda magna vf1100 and getting it road legal tomorrow, but trying to solve a issue it is having, when i shift from neutral to first gear it lurches a bit forward, I have cleaned the slave cylinder didnt really need it but was replacing the bleed screw that someone stripped, re bled the system, and still having same problem, the previous owner said it died unless you gave it a little gas going into first, someone mentioned that the brass bushing and the aluminum rod going into master cylinder might need changed, and was reading online and it said could be friction from the oil if it is thick, with the bike turned off and in first gear and squeezing clutch i can push it a little just very hard, if you have any ideas i would greatly appreciate it, also just watched your video about rear brake light adjustment, i think that will solve the other issue i am having will find out in the morning. thanks

After riding for some time the throttle just stops responding and engine slowly stops.. And it doesn't start. After 10-15minutes it starts again and then after few kilometers the same thing happens. If you don’t need new accelerator pump and air cuts we could be a round $500 +shipping. If you do need those parts and more we could be around $700-750 because of the cost of parts.

Oh Shit... I have a question.. Is it better to go Aftermarket individual air filters like the K & N individual filters or stock air box...??? Thank you in advance. I've heard different things of course. ;)

Stock Airbox & filtration = consistent/reliable/all weather riding headache free
Pod filters = Looks cool with slight performance upgrade
      🤣👍🏻

Stock airbox, carbs benefit much better with a "still air region " in front of the intakes! The engineers knew what they were doing when it came to designing and development.

Can you not just get rid of the vacuum operated fuel shutoff valve and just put a regular valve. I assume this will throw off fuel delivery...

Honestly bruh, there is enough free information out there as well as vid's on this process and just to rebuild a set of carb's you want 40 bucks ?? While IF I was doing anything else to the bike I MIGHT buy in, I understand you would like to be paid for your efforts, BUT, the ads get you paid enough to be able to GIVE AWAY a tutorial on this process. I respect your abilities personally and IF you give away something for free, you might actually gain a better support base for your other stuff. Just my $0.02 worth. Some things are not about the bucks, its about the experience. Money grubbin turns people off.

And just buy a complete kit, bowl gasket, orings, new float jets and seats. No matter how good they look just do it, specially these older bikes. Be careful with the steel wool. I just did my 1991 CBR1000F last month and the number 1 carb leaked. Steel wool in the float seat and somehow the floats where not adjusted to spec anymore.

Definitely have to be careful with it, blowing everything out is vital. (As explained in the full version) 👍🏻

    Pro tip:
Guys...if you never done this before trust me.
    DO NOT do it yourself.
Take it to a reputable shop and have them done.
If you decide to do them you will be sorry lol.

    • @adjbob56

That is NOT a "Pro tip". If I had not started my first carb rebuild 40 years ago I would still be trusting some new hired kid at an overpriced shop to screw my stuff up. We learn from mistakes in life. If you are not willing to make a mistake and MASTER a subject, you will just noodle through life watching videos for something you will never do.

What I suggest is remove the entire Honda and replace it with a Harley Davidson. Like the story about this biker type riding in town spots a lil girl walking down the side walk he pulls up to her and says"Hey lil girl wanna go for a ride?" The lil girl just keeps walking not even looking at him. So the biker pulls up and says " Hey lil girl here is $10 come on let's go for a ride!" The lil girl head down keeps on walking. The biker type takes off going down past the lil girl to a candy store grabs a bag of candy and pulls up right in front of the lil girl blocking her way and says" Ok ok lil girl here I have a bag of candy & $10 what you say let's go for a ride on my bike!!! " The lil girl finally has had it and says " Dad you bought that fucking Honda you ride it!!!"
