- Опубліковано 13 жов 2022
- Here's a compilation reel highlighting my ten most memorable trail cam videos, featuring whitetail deer, turkeys, fishers, wood ducks, a beaver, a red-tailed hawk, and a police tactical unit.
With over 500 trail cam videos in the archives, it wasn't an easy feat to narrow down my choice for the top ten, but these that I chose certainly were memorable.
The fun thing about trail cameras is you never know what you might capture on video!

Which camera is yours? I’ve tried several and the video quality sucks. Thanks

Done 😁
The antler drop was my favorite. What a privilege to see this. This is better than the Zoo, for sure!!!
Cheers, Glenda! Yes, every time checking the memory cards is kind of like opening presents on Christmas morning - you just never know what surprise awaits!
Fishers playing had me cracking up. It was like a sleepover and no-one was going to bed.
Haha! Definitely! There's always one kid that wants to push the limits, lol!
It's nice to see animals being animals. On the training video, no one saw they were on camera? Great job.
Glad you enjoyed the footage 😊
Tough to say if they saw the cam or not, lol!
The way that hawk swished his junk in the water immediately was hilarious.
Haha!!! Tough having no access to toilet paper 🤭
Beaver belly rub was my favorite.😊
The doe smacking the Buck over the head with her hoof. That was cute.
This clip has actually fooled quite a few people. That 'doe' is actually a buck - in fact, the same buck that shed his one antler in video #1. The karate kick clip was filmed a day or two after he shed his antler.
These two bucks were best buddies, always hanging out together and bedding down side by side. But when it came to food, one definitely ran the show, haha!
Thanks for watching 😊
Love those Canadian vids Justin. That "Monumental Drop" is a rare catch on a trail cam--great job!!!👍
Thanks so much!!! Yes, that clip will definitely be a hard one for me to top no doubt!
Thanks for watching!
#1 is an absolute amazing capture of a buck dropping his antler. #3 is a once in a lifetime capture of a military training session. I am going to have to say that #5 is my favorite capture. It is a monster of a buck captured in daytime. I am just hopeful that someday I will be able to put together a super top 10 list of my captures?
That antler drop is definitely going to be a hard one for me to top! But hey, you just never know. And that buck is the largest I have captured on one of the cams to date. He only showed himself five times and then he was gone. My one buddy did find his shed antler though, about three weeks or so after his last appearance and some 4km's away.
You're getting some great stuff, Kevin - and you're super lucky to have moose in your area!
That monster buck, the beast, is just jaw dropping.
Hands-down the biggest buck I have captured on any of the cams. He made a total of five separate appearances that year, never to be seen again. My buddy did find one of his shed antlers, about a month after he last showed up and maybe 3 miles away from my trail cam location.
Here's a video showing all five visits: ua-cam.com/video/Rn-Osm_MWAY/v-deo.html
Thanks for watching!
OMG! definitely the Monumental drop is my fav. Loved them all though. Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome! Yes, that 'drop' is going to be a hard one for me to top for sure! Cheers!
Really good stuff, Justin!
Thanks so much. Glad to hear you enjoyed the footage 😊
Bark and belly rub, that was my favorite. Thanks for sharing them.
Glad to hear, Scott - I'll have to get some cams up at that beaver spot again. Been a while. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed every second of this, Justin! My favorite was the Fisher Cats wrestling. Very rare footage!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!!
#1 is epic and to capture that moment is a once in a lifetime opportunity
I have to say the beaver rubbing its belly had me laughing but they are all amazing
I'll have to set up a cam at that beaver spot again before the water freezes. Neat animals to capture on film and there behaviours are pretty funny, haha!
The drop for sure! Good job, Justin.
Going to be a hard one to top, that's for sure! Thanks for watching, Petr - much appreciated! Cheers!
Hi Justin, Great collection Belly Rubs had Me smiling 😊Thanks for Sharing
Thanks, Chelese! Yes, seeing that belly rub video again reminded me that I should get a trail cam out at that spot - been quite a few years since I last did!
Fantastic captures. Thank you.
Many thanks, Maureen - glad to hear you enjoyed the footage! Cheers!
What were they training for, "How To Walk Through the Woods While Making As Much Noise As Possible?"
Haha! In their defense, I believe they were at the end of the exercise as their vehicles were only a minute or two away from this spot. (The exercise, I later found out, was a search and rescue / hostage taking...)
Number 6 is just awesome - great cam capture!
Number 5 is pretty amazing too, I'm guessing that Buck pretty much owned that area at the time.
That was the first time capturing a pair of fishers together. Definitely was a thrill when I pulled that card.
And yes, that buck ruled the woods that year, although he only showed himself on five occasions before he was gone for good. I still wonder if he is out there and what that rack must look like now!
Pretty great captures, nice work. I think I've got a similar trail cam. Amazing quality for a decent price
Cheers! Much of the footage in this compilation was taken with a Zopu - but many Chinese-made models out there are very similar and in fact look the same in most respects. Great quality at a perfect price point.
The beast! Man o man I wish I could just see that in person to just observe …lots of great footage!
Definitely a beast... and the largest buck to date to be captured on the cams. Like you, I was a bit disappointed that I didn't cross paths with him once that season, on account that I always hike with all of my 'real' camera gear.
In case you haven't seen it, he's a video compilation showing all five times this buck showed up on the trail cams. Sadly, he was never seen again after that last visit
ua-cam.com/video/Rn-Osm_MWAY/v-deo.html
AWESOME all the way!! I love it all so much! I like how you have the date, time, ECT, and the captions so more enjoyable than people talking through there videos I think they just want to hear themselves talk. Also I really enjoy the short videos than real long ones that is drawn out you get bored,I much rather watch more short videos than long ones. Your videos are perfect every way. Ok now I am talking to much sorry. Lol.
Thank you so much!! Appreciate the kind words and glad you enjoyed the footage. Thanks for stopping by!
All of them were great. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed the footage - appreciate the view 😊
The Monumental Drop was my favorite. I've never seen the shed happen. Thanks.
Hands down my best capture to date - and such a rare one to get on video! Will be a tough one to top...but you never know, haha!
Thanks for watching!
love the trail cam video...cheers
Glad you enjoyed it - thanks for watching, Pete! Cheers...
I'd have to go with monumental drop! All were really good though, keep up the good work!!
Yep! That drop is going to be a hard one to ever beat! Thanks for watching :)
The antler drop!
Loved the monster buck but I the the gobblers were my favorite. Thanks!
Definitely! This was my first season targeting turkeys with the trail cams and it was a blast. Will have them out again this spring for more gobbling action. Thanks for watching!
Greetings from the UK. An enjoyable watch, thank you.
Greetings! Thanks for stopping by 😊
The antler drop, I’ve picked up several and seen the Buck with “white tufts” around where the antlers were …….. but never seen them drop 👍😃. Thank You
Cheers, Norm - thanks for watching!
The beast! What a beauty 🦌
Hands-down the most impressive buck I have captured on any of the cams. He only made five appearances, then was never saw again. Here's those clips: ua-cam.com/video/Rn-Osm_MWAY/v-deo.html
Love it❤️🐾
I liked the bark and tummy rub!! He was just so cute!
I will have to get a trail cam back up at that beaver spot this spring. Been quite a few years since I last did but they are definitely fun animals to capture on film!
Thanks for watching 😊
Nice video, really liked the #1
Cheers, Gerald - great to hear!
Thank you for your videos I love the bears
Thanks for watching, Sandy. There were no bears in this video though - perhaps you meant the wrestling fishers?
The monumental Drop was by far my favorite
Definitely will be a tough one for me to top!
Cheers for watching :)
The beaver was awesome. Cool vid
That was a fun set up - will have to get a cam back out there in the spring. Thanks for watching! Cheers!
These are awesome clips! Just curious, what type of branches are you piling in front of the cameras that the deer are eating? Thanks for the video
Cheers, Josh - glad to hear you enjoyed them. Those 'branches' are fresh cedar. A main dietary staple for whitetail here during the winter. Problem is, they love it so much that much of it is out of reach for them. Each winter, when snow gets deep or temps are particularly frigid, I will put a pile down each time I check my cams. Gives them that added easy food source post-rut and also, as is always my hope, sets up the possibility for a buck to shed in front of one of the trail cams - which fortunately happened!
@@JustinHoffman thanks for the reply
Great catches!
There is something that moves behind the men at around 6:59. The one guy looks in the direction it moves just as he passes the area. It's middle screen to the right, behind the bushes in the trees.
Wow! Great eyes, Maggie! I had to play it back a few times before catching it myself. Hard to tell exactly but it could be the white underside of a deer, on alert, moving away through the forest. That would be my guess.
Thanks for watching...and for being the first to spot that! lol
I liked the beaver. Thanks!
I'll need to get my cams back out at the beaver spot - been many years since I was last there. So comical and entertaining! Thanks for watching...
That antler drop was cool. Timed just right. He must have just dropped the other one. Look around. And was that Game Wardens in uniform or military? Interesting. Great compilations overall. Great job.
He actually broke off that other side, except a small nub, six months earlier in July when in velvet. The little nub is still there when he shed this antler on video.
Here's a video I put together on this buck and his life story: ua-cam.com/video/c4wzdsDH-zk/v-deo.html
That was police, doing a search/rescue and hostage exercise on public land.
Thanks for watching! Cheers!
The buck chasing the doe was my fav.
That was definitely a cool find when I pulled the card. Thanks for watching!
@@JustinHoffman you’re welcome!
All great videos
Cheers, Bobby!
The beast for sure.
I often wonder what ever happened to him. An awesome buck for sure!
Super !
Greetings from Switzerland
Thank you! Cheers, Marc!
Favorite > #1 Deer horn flying off. #2 Training exercise = were they Fish & Game = Wardens training? Thanks 👍
They were actually police, doing a search and rescue training. This was on public land.
Thanks for watching 😊
Great video ..cadet #6 was the only one that may have spotted the camera ..the rest were to worried about being quiet .
Haha! Good eyes. I think this was at the end of the training exercise, as I ran into them the following week and they parked their vehicles not too far from here.
Thanks for watching :)
I just subcribed to your channel ..can't wait for some more ! 👍
Cheers, Casey - much appreciated.
I have a friend who has the drop in a still photo right in mid air cool every time I see one
Cool stuff - and not an easy feat to accomplish! Great to hear.
The drop for sure
The chase was cool. Probably breeding time😊
Yep! The height of the rut - and that doe was definitely playing hard to get, lol!
2 fisher fighting was my favorite
I love that clip as well. Always fun to get those active animals on the cams!
Very nice, Justin. You should share #1 with Exodus Outdoor Gear here on UA-cam.
Cheers, Terry - glad you enjoyed the video.
No way for me to share any of the footage unless another channel makes a video featuring it - in which case I lose the revenue from monetization and they earn it for my work.
@Justin Hoffman Ohh... gotcha. I haven't gotten to the money-making, yet. Maybe one day.
Can definitely be quite lucrative. The shed drop I have as a stand alone video. Went fairly viral and generated some great revenue. Back when I started UA-cam, anyone could monetize their channel. Not so easy now with sub and watch time thresholds. Good luck if you go that route - can turn into a great little income source.
@@JustinHoffman That is awesome. Thanks for being up front, Justin. I am glad you are doing well. Subscribing now. :)
Cheers, Terry - and more than welcome!
Troops, Buck, wood ducks
Great choices, Pat! Thanks for watching!
The beast. My fav.
He was definitely a beauty of a buck!
What’s in that pile the deer are nibbling on? Briars?
That is fresh cedar - a staple and favourite food for whitetail here. If the winter is very cold, or we have lots of snow, I will often put down a pile at my trail cams each time checking them. They eat it up like candy.
@@JustinHoffman great stuff! Thanks
Was the camera on private or public land when the police tactical unit came by?
I run all of my cams on public land, Dennis. I actually ran into the police a few days later - which is how I knew they were running a training exercise (search and rescue / hostage negotiations.)
Was definitely a surprise when I pulled cards that first day, lol!
Thanks for watching :)
I loved the drop,
Going to be a tough one to top for sure! Thanks for watching :)
The wrestlers for sure!!
That was a fun one to capture! Fishers are always neat to capture on film!
tough to pick from tactical unit, the beast, the drop . I say the beast or tactical unit
Was hard for me to whittle down all of my footage and narrow it down to ten - although there were a handful of videos I knew for certain would make it in.
I’ve tried to capture an antler drop for years
Same here. The year I captured this, I had five cams up with fresh cedar piles in front of each. Funny enough, the day before this guy shed his one side, I had a buck drop both sides at the same trail cam site. Sadly, he dropped them about ten feet to the side and five feet back. Sigh!!! I did capture video where an audible 'thump' is heard then he jumps in front of the camera shaking his head. A doe was in front of the cam at the time so that's why the video was running. They were laying about nine feet apart. Now that double drop would have been sweet to get on film!
Hard to say... I thought the beaver was cool, and funny. The buck at the licking branch made my right index finger itch. But the beaver just seemed pretty unusual.
Love licking branch footage! Already excited for the fall and hanging cams at the mock scrapes. I really need to get a cam back to that beaver spot - fascinating animals to capture in film. Thanks for watching!
My winner is the parade pf strange men marching thru your land
I prefer no 9, 2 and 1
Kung fu fighting lol
Fun fact: the buck doing the kicking is the same deer that she it's antler in video #1. The Kung Fu clip was two days after he lost that antler.
No 1 - 8:27 deer drops antlers
Yes...that will definitely be a hard one to top. Thanks for watching!
Soldiers practicing for "The Last of Us"! We are doomed!
Haha!!!
I know hunters saw tht buck, that rack n build,.what would he score?
No idea on a score. He is one of the biggest bucks, in terms of antler size, I've seen or captured. My buddy did find his one shed antler that year, about six weeks later and maybe 4 miles away. He's never been seen since. This area is off-limits to hunting but they do cross busy roads, which sadly, can be their fate.
Training exercise? For What? How to get killed when moving as a unit through the woods?
Haha!!! So true... but in their defence, the vehicles were parked about 100 yards from here so I believe this was at the end and after they had completed the exercise. From what I was told, it was a search and rescue/hostage exercise.
@Justin Hoffman yea I know I Shouldn't have jumped to a conclusion but I Couldn't resist...
Wth was going on with the cops or game wardens? Nobody asking that?
They were police and were doing a search and rescue on public land. I met up with them a week later. Their vehicles were parked some 100 yards from here, so this footage shows them at the end of the training.
All good, but the antler shed was a one-in-a-million shot. Is this private land? Why the police maneuver?
Cheers, Tom - outdoing that antler drop is going to be a hard, that's for sure. This is public land. Apparently the police were doing a hostage rescue maneuver.
Salut je me suis abonnée à votre chaine 🙂
Thank you - much appreciated 😊
I love deer. They are beautiful & elegant. How people can kill them is beyond me.
For the antlers? Go hiking through the forest on an antler search they drop them
every year. Dont have to kill them. The bucks you are killing would father more
fawns if you did not take their life. And, for what?
!
I am an avid antler hunter, spending many days in the early winter and spring searching high and low for sheds. Personally not a hunter, and the land all of my cams are hung is off-limits to hunting. Saying that, I am not against ethical hunting for food. I eat meat. Food from the wild, including venison, is far better for you - and more humane - than the meat found on the shelves at your local grocery store.
The people on that training excise needs a lot more training because they were way to loud an enemy in ambush would have wiped them out no problem
From what I was told, it was a search and rescue/hostage exercise. This was also police not military. I also believe this was at the end and once the exercise had finished, as their vehicles were parked only 100 yards away and in the direction they were heading. Still, a pretty crazy surprise on the cam that day! Thanks for watching!
@@JustinHoffman oh ok that clears that up still they walked quite loudly
@@jonathanhall1825 And I think only one may have noticed the cam, haha
Training for what? They didn’t even see your cameras . 😂😂😂😂
Haha! Turns out it was a search and rescue/hostage training session. In their defense, this was at the end and their vehicles were within sight.
Training exercise? You must disagree with Trudeau
Haha! Something like that 😉
Ok. #1 was cool but everything else was boring
Hahaha! Ok 🤦
Just checked out your 'riveting' trail cam footage from 8 years ago. Keep up the good work 🤣
@@JustinHoffman Didn't title mine as "most memorable". Zzzzzz
Some very nice footage of several species. I guess my favorite was the big buck with like 13? Points. But the wife likes the minks, weasels or whatever they are. Thanks for sharing your land, time and animals. 🦅🦌🦃🦆🦦🎥💯👍
Cheers, Joel! The buck is a 14-pointer. Definitely the most impressive deer I've captured with the cams. The other animals were fishers.
Thanks for watching 😊
@@JustinHoffman thank you, wasn’t sure I’ve only ever saw one fisher in person. It was so far up a spruce tree in Michigan I couldn’t see it much. You got some nice videos and a fun outdoor adventure channel. Subbed a minute ago. Wishing you and yours the best from me and mine. 👍💯
What part of the country are you in My friend? Beautiful there for sure. I think the mink frolicking around was the best for me. Have a good day
I'm in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Beautiful out here and plenty of natural spaces.
That was a pair of Fisher. Cool little animals! Thanks for watching!
I once 2008? Took a moonlight swim in lake Maggore in Italy. I swam towards the swans family and mom pushed her oldest sun towards me. He still knows me and comes by one a year. Wishfull thinking maybe🙏🕯💝
Haha! You never know. Could be her swan son reincarnated 😇
