Ok it worked this time. First off, valiant effort from you. This guy is legitimately tough and would give me a run for my money if I am being honest. FKS is well established in Stratego community so you played a legit OG.
As I suspected he had a captain opening which he likes because he used captain a lot for getting info in the early game and then brings his big guns immediately after in most games he plays. I’d say you did fairly well defending against his big guns but something that stood out was when he got your spy.
This is where elements of chess come into play thinking a few moves ahead. You needed to anticipate when you could be put in a 2 square scenario. I knew when his general was diagonal yours he was going to move it up to force a trade since your major diagonal behind your general. By forcing the trade, he would move a scout to 2 square your spy since the spy was not positioned against the wall. I have some tips for your spy to make it more effective because I see some struggles with keeping it alive in some of your games. I’ll share in another video.
On the positive, you definitely are understanding the 2 square rule because you made an excellent move by sending your scout away from the bomb to save your major. By good fortune, your well placed bomb led FKS to hit his Marshall into it. FKS will lotto from time to time because he can be very aggressive but it’s possible he thought the bomb had moved.
What did you in though was finding his last major with your lieutenant. That put you down 2 lieutenants and even though you were up 2 major pieces, he has a full compliment of miners at his disposal and 2 unknown lieutenants. He could bluff you like crazy which he did to some extent. In hindsight, it would have been better to use a miner to locate his last major. I am normally not for using a miner as a scout but you had no choice since all of your scouts were used up.
For what it’s worth, you played a great game against someone who is an exceptional player. I am proud of the progress you have made! Keep it up!

He actually told me after, he thought that piece he hit with his Marshall had moved.
At first I didn't believe he played his A game and held back a little bit. But he told me that's how he actually plays. Didn't expect that because he just won the WCO. The game was very fun. And I like his Playstyle. But I think I didn't experienced him on full attack yet. Lucky I could trade Colonel's at the beginning, otherwise it was much more difficult to defend.
