This was the 22nd song out of 23, for the next song to listen to, you should listen to the song that preceded this one at that concert. "Play". The energy, the Ladies have throughout the entire concert is maintained, from start to finish. And it must be seen to be believed.

I saw them at the Fillmore and silver springs (They closed the show with this song). Also, they have done several anime openings. Have a good one! Band-Maid has done several Anime themes: "Sense", "Dawn Winery", "Hibana", "Corallium" Their video "Unleash" is an Anime unto itself.
But they have a huge catalog of rock songs each more intense than the next. Try "Play", "Moratorium" or just about any random Band-Maid song. They play anything they find to be fun to themselves. To give their vocalist a break they do instrumentals: try "From Now On" and "Onset". While they mostly do hard rock, beware of their ballads: Band-Maid knows exactly how to play your heartstrings to jaw dropping effect. "Daydreaming", "Page", and "About Us" may bring you to tears.
IMHO Band-Maid is the greatest rock band on the planet: an amazing collective of talent. Heavy metal gravitas combined with amazingly clean vocals make their sound totally unique.

I found this band more than 4 years ago.
As a drummer the first thing I focused in on was the drums. When I clicked the video I had assumed this was just another Pop-Idol group where the girls just sing and dance and I was planning to click away pretty quick. But from the first ("Start Over") the Drummer was clearly playing. It went from this kind of light guitar pop to slowly built up piece that had me clicking on the next one on the list: "Thrill." A total throwback to 80s Hard Rock nearly Metal. The drummer is sprinkling in double pedals and just keeping it rock solid. At this point I'm impressed enough to keep going.
"Real Existence" is what put me over the edge. Akane (I had read the comments to find out her name at this point) goes completely Keith Moon wild on the drums while never losing control. Each verse, each chorus and the guitar solo all have multiple sub sections on the drums, and it is simply amazing. Simple, but ever moving, changing and perfectly locked into the rest of the music.
So, after watching every last official video on their channel multiple times, made my first iTunes purchase EVER (and first money spent on new music in DECADES) I called up a friend of mine who had played guitar professionally in Japan back in the 90s. "Dude, I just found THE MOST AMAZING Japanese band! and they're all girls! and all dressed up li...." "Oh, you found Band-Maid, here, let me send you a link" ONSET. I think I cried.
I've not been THIS into a band since first learning to play drums listening to Rush. They are THAT good.

Somewhere, in your early Band Maid Rabbit Hole dive, try reacting to at least some of the following instrumentals: "From Now On" (newest), "Onset", "Don't Be Long" and "Without Holding Back". I love Saiki and her compelling vocals, but it's nice to hear the ladies get to cut loose just a bit more than in the "vocalized" songs (but always within the structure of the song). You may also want to try the MVs for "Warning", "Influencer" and "Blooming". Generally, for most (but not all) of their songs, the "lives" will get your blood pumping at max levels. You may also want to take a stab at acoustic songs (e.g. "Catharsis" [live]), electric ballads (e.g. "Daydreaming") or pieces from their "controlled chaos" files (e.g. "Different", "Black Hole", "I Still Seek Revenge"). Once you get through all of those. you'll only have about 120 (or so) to go to know the whole canon. (Of course, if you want to count live versions, studio live versions, You Tube-posted fan cam lives, TV show/anime/movie applications, electric and acoustic variants of songs, versions of songs containing different intros/outros/solos, different musical applications (e.g. "Hitler Rants" pieces [Daily Blabs], P in D photo collages); novelty treatments (e.g. AntMusic shorts), professional analyses (e.g. "Wings of Pegasus", "Jbf Music & Guitar"); extended discussions (e.g. "Gaijin Guys", "Maid News Network), et cetera -- and even if you confine yourself solely to UA-cam -- AND, if you count each and every one of these entries as a separate, yet integral, Band Maid "piece", you can kick that 120+-ish number up three- to five-fold. (After that, we can talk about the domestic and foreign merchandise items available -- I have a Japanese BM wall hanging [currently going for $225-$250 on Ebay]; their first two EPs [always available on Ebay for $400-$550 each -- sometimes less]; the complete custom Zippo lighter lighter collection [always available on Ebay for $4,000 -$6,000] and literally thousands of other items over the last [almost] decade -- you may want to bring your wallet). Have fun! (Maidiacs always do)! Band Maid Forever!!!!!

They also wrote Hibana for the Japan Universities E-sports competition battle song, one of my personal favourite tracks btw. Have you checked out Rinne yet ? If not I would recommend that track next. Enjoy !!

Misa is a great Bass player but you should check out Trident, Serina's sound is crazy good. Try "ambivelant".
Band Maid are my favourite band, but while each are the best as a whole other bands have individuals who peak higher.
As for Band Maid Songs, Blooming, Dice and Manners. can't go wrong with those three.

Welcome to the fandom! IMO - best bass player - period! ♥ MISA
Never seen an organically put together band that had a great bassist, guitarist & drummer!
Oh and the other 2 are pretty darned talented too. A literal supergroup!
I suggest the following Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, No God & Turn Me On
The last song is no longer on their channel. Link - ua-cam.com/video/l9ibUQ-V-Z4/v-deo.html

Hey Guys! Great reaction! I love seeing people listen to Band-Maid for the first time!
Another band you guys will love has a lot of crossover fans with Band-Maid. They are 3 sisters from Mexico called The Warning!!
I would suggest the songs Disciple or Evolve official videos to start with! Give them a listen and I know you will love them!

Bro, Band Maid is so freaking good! My personal favorite song from them (at the moment) is “Fate”.
That said, the best female bassist in my mind is Michiko Koga from Gacharic Spin. She’s INSANE.

One of the chief differences between Western hard rock/metal bands and those from Japan (especially true for all-female acts): in the West, there are a lot of mediocre bands (e.g. technical ability, songwriting and arranging skills) with recording contracts; in Japan, you kill or you leave.

I'd sat.....mmmm...you now know that can shred.... And they can get heavier....but I say maybe go back toward the beginning...one of the rock ballad type songs...and see if you can hear Kanami-san's influencer Santana in the solo she wrote?..... For a long time this was one of my top favorite songs by Band Maid... When they released this some complained because it wasn't that driving hard rock sound, but when you listened... you just knew they were special.... Asking the Maidiacs for a good Band-Maid song for your next video has two effects. The first might be a never ending bag of lays potato chips (just can't have one), the other is the owl on the Tootsie Pop commercial, 1, 2, 3 bite. To quote Good Morning Vietnam -Adrian Cronaue, "anything, just play it loud OK!"
"Daydreaming" (ballad), "Start Over" (pop like heartbreak), "Manners" (Bluesy Grit), 輪廻 "RINNE" (Needs to be in a NFS video game), "Secret Maiko Lips" & "Gion-cho (祇園町)" (The Band-Maiko versions), "onset" & "from now on" (instrumentals), or any of the acoustic stuff. Pretty much anything.

After Kanami finishes her last blazing solo, Saiki sings, "Our pulses race together." Indeed! Band-Maid. Domination. Nuff said! Well, except for... what the HECK! Where's your headphones?!? Band-Maid is a headphone required band, guys. ;-)

Band Maid operates on orders of magnitude. Studio stuff is the baseline. A live version of that song is 10x more impressive. Actually being at a show 10x more and if you're committed to the cause, and join Dawn Patrol (lining up 14+ hours early) you can get in the first few rows. That also is an order of magnitude above the rest. The base is amazing too without being (too) obnoxious. Your next shot at seeing them is in May. It is a festival gig in Daytona, FL on May 18th.

While I am a band Maid fan, saying Misa is the best bassist is a bit much for me. Yes she is good and up there with the best of them, but for me the best has to be F Chooper Koga from Gacharic Spin. Gacharic Spin is a band I really want to like, but they are not as heavy as I would like, mind you that has changed a bit over the last year or 2.

As far as recommendations, Lord there are SO many. They're coming up on their 10 year anniversary and they have a gazillion songs, all from very good to OMG. I don't know what songs you've done already so sorry if you've done some of these, but here are my recommendations. From their early years, a couple of my faves from their channel are Real Existence Live and Non Fiction Days MV. Then there is Blooming MV (featured in the Netflix movie Kate), and the mid-temp hard groove awesomeness of Manners (MV is great but so is the Live combo of Manners/Black Hole) and Bubble. A life changingly great power ballad is Daydreaming MV. I'm skipping a ton of great songs too. Oh, and from their later years try No God live. From their most recent and crazy great EP, you'll love (because I see you're into anime) their MV Unleash!!!!!, as well as Influencer and the instrumental to beat all instrumentals "From Now On." And I'm leaving a ton of shit out!
