    I was so happy to find that your video was on ink blending today. I am hosting a crop this next weekend & one of the techniques I will be demonstrating is ink blending! I really like the shifting of the stencil!
    I wanted to mention to you a couple of other things that you can do using stencils and the oxide inks. After blending a background, put a stencil on top of your background, then lay a baby wipe on top & lightly tap. When you remove the stencil, the baby wipe will have lifted some of ink and created that pattern on your background.
    Another technique starts out just the same. You create a background by blending your oxide inks again. When finished, spray your mat with some water. Choose a stamp & dip it into the water like you would usually do with your ink pad. Then stamp the blended background. The water on the stamp will then lift some of the ink off of the background creating a pattern the same way it did with the baby wipe previously. These are quick & easy techniques that really create a unique look!
    I recently purchased a card kit that features the technique of layering stencils. I have not used it yet but I will be giving it a go this week!
    Thank you again for all of the techniques and cards you share with us. It is very much appreciated by us!

So many artists are uploading videos that are in the 2 to 3 1/2 hours length. I don’t have the time to watch any that length and it amazes me that they have the time to continue recording videos that long. I’m just really enjoying getting information from you without investing my day doing it. Thank you.

    Less than a minute in, I was curious as to why Tim Holtz stencils only cover 80% of a card front.
    And then I realized that they do not even ‘tile’! So it’s not as if you can list it up and place it next to where you just finished coloring to extend the pattern. Why would anyone even buy these?

  • @Tam-te5nh
    @Tam-te5nh 3 роки тому +1

    I heard him say today on his live video the reason his stencils are the sizes they are is because he designed them to fit tags. I think he has two different sized stencils for two different sized tags. I think he might’ve also said he just uses different bits of the stencil at once & not the entire stencil - so that’s probably another reason that they’re not really card sized.
    Not very helpful for you, bit at least it might answer the why. 🙂
