      @iateyursandwiches 5 років тому

      Not exactly. you're hair "looks" the same.
      Btw, few people(especially blacks) have "true" anything. Most of us have a mix of at least 2 textures be it 3c/4a, 4a/4b or 4a/4b/4c, etc
      I happen to have 4c on about the upper/middle half of my hair and 4b/4a in the back. So am I 4c? Imo. You're either type 4 or not. This whole curl pattern thing is kind of silly though. It just tells you how textured you hair will look but tells you little about how to take care of it.

    • @pamhardi4266
      @pamhardi4266 9 років тому

      kikicouture10 - are you unraveling the twists before washing? unravel them, then wash, then twist back up. :)

    • @pamhardi4266
      @pamhardi4266 9 років тому +4

      kikicouture10 - oh and you don't have to have like twenty of them. I usually have 6-8 big twists in bantu knots. then i can take each section down and focus on it. But doing it that way, it shouldn't lock up :)

    Thanks so much for this. I recently started getting a bunch of single strand knots and couldn't figure out why. I was still detangling my hair the way I did when it was really short and my hair was staying tangled. I thought maybe I needed to change that and this video helped. Thanks!

    OMG thanks for this review. I've seen both products reviewed on other channels, and with the ghee, I've been on the fence about it for like months now, and the Qredew thing, I was like I dont do wash and goes and steam has never "refreshed" my hair, lol. I need some more detangler anyway and you just sold me, thank god there is a place not too too far from my job so I can pick it up on the ground. The qredew will go on my christmas wish list. Thanks so much for sharing your method! I am going to try and keep my hair in twists to wash it, I've thought about it before but worried about how clean my hair would get by doing it that way.

    For detangling, I find that doing a prepoo first does wonders. I spritz with water and then an olive oil or olive oil and jojoba oil. Rinse out and then comb through in the shower with a conditioner or a detangler like luvnaturals (which i love), before I shampoo. I triued to keep my hair in two strand twists but U have difficulty getting in and washing so i use ouchless clips to keep my hair sectioned and twist once im done with the section. I recently bought Qhemet biologicals but have yet to use the full product line because I put my hair in a protective style shortly after I purchased it. But im excited to try it out - used it for a few days and loved it! I struggle with retaining moisture and it seemed to help on that front but I need to use it some more to know for sure.

    I switched from using coconut oil on dry hair to lightly spraying it with water and using my shea butter mix and detangling is now a breeze! I'm so glad you mentioned the knots and tangles if you don't twist your hair to wash because I stopped twisting mine and had no idea where all these knots where coming from! my hair is breaking all over the place and it's just annoying! I'll def get back to twisting and see if it changes. why did I stop twisting anyway?? *facepalm*

    Hi,
    I was almost ready to purchase the Q-Redew portable steamer because my hair get tangled and matted together because I do not use a blow dryer. I just keep my hair in braids for every processes including drying. But, while its drying even in the braid it draws up and clings together. Instead I think I will start more deep conditioning, and the Tension Method with my braids to get my hair more tangled free after my braided cowash. JoStyling has an excellent video on her 4c Routine, but I think I will throw in a heat cap to help with the detangling process as well. I will check out that detangling ghee. TFS

    wow this looks great. I was wondering can you do this with short 4c hair. Because right now my hair is short and is difficult to detangle without thousands of clumps falling out. how often do you use the q redew? I'm thinking about buying one but I was just wondering is there a certain amount of times you use it to reduce heat damage. Or is steam naturally good for 4c hair even though its heat? Sorry, I'm still in the TWA phase and not as knowledgeable about my hair like I would like to be.

    Before shampooing I finger-detangle on stretched, sectioned (10 parts), dampened ('3 parts water: 1 part glycerin' spritz) and conditioner-coated (Nature's Gate Jojoba Revitalizing Conditioner) hair. This technique works wonders for me. I have dense, 4b/c, BSL hair.

I have a really hard time detangling, like I'm to afraid to really get the knots out because as I move to another section, the other part has retangled! Yaaaaa! I'm from england and that hand steamer is not available. :( do you have any other tips on how to detangle? Also, that steamer you use, do also use a heat protectant with it? I would be wary of the heat that is hitting the strands of hair with the steam. I look forward to more vlogs from you beautiful. X

    wooah i NEED one of those steamers!!! this is possibly the best detangling method ive seen on youtube. i have majority 4b and 2 little sections of 4c hair with more little sections of probably 4a (if not 4a, its really fine 4b - i have YET to understand my curl pattern) and i normally dry detangle - i say dry because i use a cheap conditioner and sit in my bed in a mirror and detangle. i separate my hair in 4 sections and do it section by section, and then after im done i twist them and move on with washing. your method seems WAYYY superior and less time consuming than mines
