(This one is more of an unpopular opinion of mine, but my god, I can't stand most german dubs. Especially in games)
SilverRainbow100 I agree. I can't watch/play any movies, series or games in German anymore. This is especially problematic when you want to watch something with your friends. They are always like: Was ist falsch mit dir, ich hab kein Bock das auf Englisch zu schauen, Deutsche Synchronsprecher sind die besten...
Absolutly disagree with point 2. 110% disagree. Most german dubbing is perfectly done. It's highly professional and mostly fits perfect. Stuff like Star Wars or the Anime Evangelion (not the Netflix Version) are PERFECT in german
If someone stares at you for hearing English, its because they are so used to Russian, Turkish and Arabic that it baffles them theres other foreigners here.
It's true, (especially?) in Nordrhein-Westfalen you just hear that at a dayli bases really often. But if I hear someone speaking English I'm kind of exited.
Btw...If you ever need corn starch again try Kartoffelstärke instead. Somehow we don't really use corn starch in Germany....cuz Kartoffel is precious haha ♡
Even tho in the modern german world you just say "Moin" as a greeting besides for the southern Germany where it is "Grüß Gott" but there is getting "Moin" used more often too. It's spreading.
"Moin" isn't a modern greeting, but a casual greeting. It has been here for centuries. Also note that there is a distinct difference between the "Plattdeutsch" northern Germany "Moin" or "Moinmoin", which is a universal casual greeting, and the southwestern "Moin" (also Morsche, Morgn, etc.) which is a shortened regional dialect form of "Guten Morgen" (= Good Morning) and would get you weird looks if you used it in said region in the afternoon or later.
@@chrisrudolf9839 The greeting "Moin" is spreading out in this time. I'm from Bremen (northern germany) and I know that we use to say "Moinmoin". In the early 2000's if you would say to a Bayrer "Moin" they would've look at you a bit confused because it is normal for them to use "Grüß Gott". "Moin" is pretty old, but not used everywhere that long.

As a german, I can say, I hate that stare too. Like somebody at the train station just looks at you for 5 minutes. Like he's scanning your soul and is reading your thoughts, gathering information about your deepest fears but as soon as I stare back at said person they quickly look away. Everytime this happens I'd prefer to live in the US where I could just pull out a gun. I feel offended everytime EDIT: Okay but about the cheddar: I'm vegan for quite a while now so things might have changed BUT I've lived in Ireland for about a month and cheddar was my primary food there. I fell in love with it and I agree, cheddar in Germany is pretty disgusting except that Kerrygold cheddar. It's pretty awesome. It's smooth and soft, unlike other german cheddars that taste somewhat like a piece of drywall. It's creamy and soft while at the same time having a strong flavour.
Some say "Deutsche Sprache, schwere Sprache", which basically means "German language, hard language". Younger blokes like me also tend to speak a weird mix of English and German, that's what we call "Denglisch"
Yeah thats really weird but I mean I sometimes speak english and sometimes german and sometimes I don't speak at all and sometimes I speak wayyy to much so ....
uk uses the germany:... the is der die das using on female man and things die is female der is man das is thing then comes nomen like a,e,i,o,u is one of that the gmern language can be infinity
"People stare" Oh dear God, did they... I was in Ansbach, which was surrounded by several U.S. Army bases, which meant most people there didn't stare at English speakers... No, everyone there stared at non-whites. Like, my best friend at the time (who is Puerto Rican) and I were at the local mall and everyone there would just stare at her. Blankly stare at her. It was a bit unnerving. Like, I get why, but like... damn, it was so creepy.
When he asked what "Haltestelle entfällt" means I felt soooo sorry for him ... Don't worry tho, as a German I can tell you "everyone hates the German Train system". There's also a reason why the system is so bad, but that would probably take way to long to explain...actually...capitalism ..well didn't take that long after all.
@@АндрейБебенин-д1хthey did privatize it long ago, that's exactly the problem. Because infrastructure is NOT best when it's private. No other company is going to come along and build a second set of train tracks to compete. At most, a competing company is going to run a few trains on the existing tracks, thereby stealing throughput. And typically only offering trains on the most lucrative routes. Which steals income from the original train company that is supposed to cover less lucrative routes as well so your country has full coverage. A handful of lucrative routes but all small stops cut off does not make a successful public transport system for a country. There's a reason roads aren't run privately. Trains are very similar. You WANT one entity to do it all - easier to make schedules, you can cross finance less lucrative routes, economy of scale for buying materials,... well, then you can just as well run it by the state as a not for profit instead of as a company with overpaid CEOs who try to squeeze every last cent of profit which then leads to breakdowns and technical problems. Private businesses are really great for stuff like shoes or groceries, but not infrastructure. If you privatize infrastructure you always have to heavily regulate it and then you can really just run it by the state. Which also gives you the option to do stuff like making it free so people will use it more.

Yeah, german voice acting is terrible😑 I mean... Have you watched anime with german dub?😅😱
Princess of fantasy English voice acting in anime is worse than German tho
Absolutly disagree with point 2. 110% disagree. Most german dubbing is perfectly done. It's highly professional and mostly fits perfect. Stuff like Star Wars or the Anime Evangelion (not the Netflix Version) are PERFECT in german

It's true, (especially?) in Nordrhein-Westfalen you just hear that at a dayli bases really often. But if I hear someone speaking English I'm kind of exited.

Maybe, but I guess that it is rather because most people here understand a tad of english, which makes it interesting to hear.

I feel offended everytime
EDIT:
Okay but about the cheddar: I'm vegan for quite a while now so things might have changed BUT I've lived in Ireland for about a month and cheddar was my primary food there.

"People stare"
Oh dear God, did they...

There's also a reason why the system is so bad, but that would probably take way to long to explain...actually...capitalism ..well didn't take that long after all.
wait wait wait... Privatisierung
Так приватизируйте её, в чём проблема? )))
