I don't think he's ashamed I think he just doesn't want to be known only for Drake and Josh. But that's the thing with child actors, once you star in a role that's known around the world it's hard to break away from that stigma. I think he needs to embrace it more like BoJack Horseman 😂😂

Drake and Josh are some of the most iconic duos in my life. It's great that they turned out to have a really good brother relationship like they did with their characters.
The happiness in drakes face when talking about D&J, I’m so glad he found some light during/after the darkness. I too have been rewatching D&J recently and I can’t believe they only did like 50 episodes, deserved way more! Now I just need to find the merry Christmas D&J movie
D&J was his happy place after all he endured. Too bad it's the opposite for Josh.
@@InfoLunix it’s interesting when they do reconnect, they still seem to have the connection & humor like they’ve never been apart but I appreciate they have different memories of that time. I can also empathize with Josh having lost a lot of weight myself & being healthier, it can bring its own challenges that others wouldn’t get unless they’ve been in that situation themselves.

I love that Drake has good memories of filming, and still likes watching his own show. Knowing what he endured before D&J, he could have only traumatic memories, so knowing D&J was a bright spot is a blessing.

Now being an adult I've done similar things, made similar mistakes, traumas, etc., and I love that he's really coming back from all of that, and has taken so much time to heal, and make things right, and not let the heartbreaks stop him from still living it up and being his epic self! I just love it, and absolutely respect him so much even more, than I already did! Continue your awesome journey man. I believe in you so much, you don't even know. 🥹

I love Drake Bell, there is something about him that is just so warm and approachable and it's really attractive. Many other male celebrities don't give off an immediate friendly vibe, even though they might be friendly, but I think Drake is the kind of guy who would make you feel like you've known each other for years just by talking for 10 minutes. I mean, the way he communicates, and expresses himself, that is such an attractive thing to have

Josh has a UA-cam channel which he films with David dobrik most the time who is one of his biggest fans ironically and josh has said that he's over it and that it's such an old show from the past. He wants to break off and become known for bigger roles. He appreciates it and loves his drake and josh fans but he isn't dwelling on it. I bet it gets annoying.
Also, josh is still friends with drake and drake has even been on his UA-cam channel.

instead of judging maybe ask why they went crazy? the industry can be brutal and exploitive, then add in the media judging your every action, it’s no wonder some actors can’t handle it especially the young ones back then. it’s kinda sad.

Always find it so interesting, the interviews I have seen..the people he's talking to always seem to be honest and speak truthfully. I like to hear those questions other's wouldn't maybe ask.

That's what I love about these interviews.The interview is conducted in such a way that it feels like Zach and Drake are 2 old friends having a conversation.

Watching this now in 2024 knowing what I know about Drake now it makes me so sad that he was so traumatized and abused. All the adults let him down tremendously. Josh acting “Hollywood” now and not speaking up for him kinda sucks.
I loved Amanda Bynes. She was my favorite in All That, and I admired her performance in the Amanda Show. When Drake spoke of her, it really took me back to my childhood. She was one of my favorites. It broke my heart. I'm glad someone took some time to speak of her with such thoughtfulness.

I used to watch Drake and Josh when I was 9 years old, I am now 22 and I still casually watch it. I believe it is one of those ageless and timeless shows, I bet I could still watch it from time to time even when I'm 50. I'll definitely watch it with my kids in the future :')

First I just wanted to say after the whole thing when Josh didn't invite him to his wedding I was in drake side that was so not cool of Josh what they made was legendary he should have been first to get a invite second I got really emotional when he was talking about Amanda Baines cause she was so good at what she did she was so talented third drake bell just seems like a great guy Josh peck got his shine now it's time for drake bell to take the torch back I'm so here for this
tracy mesidor but for the whole Josh thing they hadn't been close friends for 2-3 years...no matter what we might think we don't know their relationship but they weren't close in the years leading up to their wedding. Taking that into account and the fact that Josh had a small wedding with only CLOSE friends (which is to say he may consider Drake a friend and not a CLOSE friend) there's no saying "that was so not cool". Working on the same show 10 years ago does not guarantee a wedding invite if you haven't maintained a relationship after.

Honestly you'd be better off letting it go,
put it simple, yeah it wasn't cool for Josh not to tell Drake about it, but it's not worth obsessing about either, Drake appears to have forgiven him and has said he doesn't want anyone hating on him about it, there no going back in time so that Drake could appear at the wedding and they've since worked it out best they can, nothing left to do but move on, people make mistakes

Hearing this and remembering how they really grew up together like brothers, how much love Drake has for him, I could tell that really hurt him not being invited to Josh’s wedding. It was obviously his prerogative to invite whomever he wanted to, but that didn’t sit right with me either.

Holy cow. This is one of the best interviews I've ever seen. Really haven't kept track of Drake bell since the show and it was great to catch up with him.
I only ment to watch like 10 minutes of this....ended up watching the whole thing lol
interesting to go back and hear the support for Dan that Drake had.
Really feels like night and day with how others experienced his presence.
It seems like Drake is one of the few people that really just didn't have a bad experience with Dan. Who knows why.
But I actually respect Drake for not just jumping on a bandwagon, as he usually specifies that it just wasn't his experience with Dan. He doesn't then discredit the stories of others. He simply doesn't accuse someone of stuff he didn't experience, and I think that's just as important as talking about problematic behavior of someone.
If you listen to him talk, even in QOS, he doesn't defend Dan. He just acknowledges the way he treated Drake and things he did for him.
I think people want terrible people to be obviously, 100% black and white evil, and most just aren't like that, so I think it lends to Drake's credibility, because suddenly changing stance is sometimes just people lying, and I think the last thing he wants now is to be seen as a liar or two faced.
For example, my stepdad is an awful person, who luckily isn't my stepdad anymore. He did and said many things, but he never SA'd me. At some point, my really dad got sus and asked me if it happened, (he was so sure that it had for some reason), but I would not budge even though my dad kept asking, because there is just nothing that I can recall that resembles that sort of experience with my stepdad. Maybe something is repressed or something but until there's some life changing revelation, I don't believe it happened. Because I don't accuse people of things I either know or don't think they did. My stepdad has got enough to answer for, piling extra just makes me terrible as well.
This same stepdad got me a puppy when I was a kid, and paid for me to go on an expensive class trip in 8th grade. He was also active at church and did habitat for humanity.
Unfortunately, two things can be true. And I think it's still important to differenciate when those things happen.

As for Drake, he also speaks very highly of Josh Peck, who has done nothing but claim they aren't friends and that Drake needs to 'get over it'
So, in my head it's possible he could be one of those people who see only the best in others because recognizing the bad in people would further his trauma at this point.
Of course, that's speculation, but it seems possible.
Totally new to Zach Sang, I'm 25, grew up on Drake and Josh, love all of his music, he's criminally underrated. I absolutely love this interview, really great to hear him speak so candidly on memories and the state of kids TV today, really excellent questions asked. Fantastic bit of content.

I just love how Drake Bell just says he watches Netflix everyday and watched Drake & Josh and sleeps all day everyday when he takes breaks from his acting and his singing of course and I love this Zach Sang's interview with him too!!!!:):):):)

Drake watches “drake and josh”? Omg! That is the cutest and sweetest thing I have ever heard! Even though yes, that show is dated and they’ve grown up, but it’s what made then famous and it what made them money! You know the saying “don’t bite the hand that feeds you” so true! I can totally see josh being asked if he watches the show and he would be like “no” or what not! Smh! But good for drake for being genuine and humble and reminiscing about the past and the show! It truly is like looking back at your old high school yearbook!
