Josh Peck (How I Met Your Father, Drake & Josh) joins us this week to give a glimpse into the amazing, film-worthy stories he has inside his new book “Happy People Are Annoying.”
Josh shares everything from the thought of having to grieve what he never had after the loss of his father, to the truth behind the media storm fallout that came from his wedding day and those who didn’t get invited.
We also talk about the idea of endless voids that we try to fill with vices, his experience as a child stand up comic, and the difference between public opinion and what goes on behind the scenes within a cast.
How I Met Your Father’s JOSH PECK: Happy People Are Annoying (2022) Inside of You: Michael Rosenbaum #insideofyou #drakeandjosh
Crazy to see one of your childhood heroes be so candid and honest about life. Great episode Michael, one of the best yet
Ima be honest I genuinely did not expect not even just him but any celebrity to be this honest in an interview even though it was a super a small moment, to hear a actor talking about arguing with his mom and talking about not working and maybe having to get a job is just actually refreshing to hear such candidness like that. I enjoyed this interview
Grew up on Drake and Josh and actually re watched it a while ago, I think it still holds up. Personally, I believe this is one of the best episodes of the pod, would be cool to see Josh return in the future!
It’s actually the only Nickelodeon sit com that fully holds up lol.
@@Jellybob69 Ned's Declassified as well, imo.
@@jk2171 oh yeah that’s fair
Facts
Drake and josh does not hold up. It's just another bland mean spirited sitcom. Watch more TV.
Been rooting for Josh since The Amanda Show days. I was so thrilled to see him be casted in Christopher Nolan’s new film, Oppenheimer. Hoping more opportunities come his way. Go Josh!
I had no idea he was cast! Making big moves!!!
That's awesome I love Christopher Nolan so much I can't wait to see!!!
When I heard that I thought it was cool, but it’s weird cause rn during this he said “the bad stuff pays for the house, and sometimes the cool stuff, for example I’m doing a cool project in the next weeks and it’s not paying for anything!” I wonder if he was talking about Oppenheimer :/
I was blown away to hear he was cast in the film! The cast is crazy so far, he’s starring alongside Robert Downey Jr, Cillian Murphy and Matt Damon!
Same
I love LOVE he discussed mean creak and the whackness. People need to understand how talented Josh peck can be when given the ball. He’s such a relatable man. I grew up being compared so much to Josh , being an overweight kid who lost a lot of weight. It really changes your psyche and I love his perspective because this made not feel alone. Great interview
Creek. Numbnutz.
@@aircnc9385 hey baby
Josh is literally always so humble, kind & funny. It’s awesome to see someone I’ve grown up watching grow into such an awesome person. Hope more good things continue to happen for him!
when your childhood collides. Lex luthor from smallville and Josh from Drake and Josh. Love this
This week’s episode is great, Josh definitely opened up about his past struggles. I am glad that he found happiness. A part 2 would be awesome.
This was one of the most enjoyable interviews. I, like many people my age, know who Josh is from his Drake and Josh show but i have never really been a "Fan" The honesty and candor in this interview really pushed me towards wanting more Josh Peck. Great content.
Honesty? You might want to watch Drake and Janet’s podcast-or any other interview that shows pictures, UA-cam clips, TV appearances, and pictures of Drake and Josh together at parties pretty frequently. Josh has fabricated all of this, just publicity for the book. Which is understandable. But any adult of a certain age should be a little bit better at critical thinking, and looking at both sides of a story. Or at least ask how could there be dozens and dozens of pieces of proof online that Josh did keep in touch and see Drake pretty often?
@@heyjarrod He didn't say he never saw him. He said he wasn't close to him. You can see people every day and not be close to them.
I honestly didn’t know Josh before listening to this but I really enjoyed the episode. He seems like a really good bloke and found his story really interesting. I love how guests open up to you and are so comfortable, that’s because you are so good at what you do!
You should watch Drake and Josh it's really funny but it is better to have watched as a teen. But it's still really funny
Yes drake and josh is a great show I watched it when I was a teenager
Drake talk at 50:00
Ty
It's funny to think that I basically ignored Josh Peck's career after Drake and Josh ended, but then once I learned more about him, he became someone I look up to a lot. he's such a great guy with an incredible journey.
check aagain?
I love this man. I've had a crush on him since Drake and Josh. I loved him since he was bigger and now he is happy with himself and I am so proud to still be in his corner. I love you Josh Peck.
same here. I was drawn to his humor and awesome personality and when I saw him eventually felt comfortable with his skin and started to take care of himself physically, Im like who is the "good looking person" now, Drake..hahaha I felt redeemed as Team Josh.
Wow, did not expect josh to have so much amazing insight and wisdom. Props to him, what an amazing story
The most amazing part of his story was how mature and self aware he was throughout his life. At eight to discover the art of self-deprecation and then his instinct to learn from Amanda Bynes as a teen and then his realization that drugs would never fill the void at only 21??? WOW just very impressive.
I have this inner dialog within my mind on a daily basis. Telling my self your not enough. Then later saying to myself positive things. Love hate relationship. Glad to hear them talk about this mental health issue.
Drake and Josh's real lives are basically how the characters lives would turn out if the show ended with "Josh Is Done."
Just so I’m understanding correctly, you’re referring to the episode where essentially Josh gives up on Drake and Drake’s life gets worse while Josh’s gets better?
@@AjaxDGonzoyes that what he is referring too
Not really. Josh turned into a real creep.
@@r.rodriguez4991How has Josh turned out to be a creep? Are you confusing him for Drake?
Drake said that he knows Josh more than his own brothers. Drake Bell is just like Drake Parker. Josh Peck is exactly like Josh Nicols
Michael, I cannot stress enough how I am grateful to have found this on youtube.
legendary josh peck. Influenced me in so many ways throughout my life. Never have I ever laughed so hard watching his content. Wish him all the best. Thank you for giving me and so many others joy.
What a cool level headed guy. I love when guests come on that I know nothing about and leave with a new appreciation for them as a human. Love this pod
I just randomly came across this podcast ( I accidentally hit the podcast tab at the top of recommended page ) and I’m so happy I did! My husband and I are huge fan’s of Smallville and of you, and of course who doesn’t love Josh Peck. Great Podcast! Btw you look great and you don’t look 50.
Josh is so incredibly smart and such a truly kind and caring guy. Anytime he speaks I’m in.
I love this so much! Josh was a big part of growing up for me as well. I'm just about 30 now, which is crazy. He was always the funniest part of Drake and Josh and any other show he was a part of, for that matter. He seems so incredibly kind and eloquent here. His laughter is contagious. Way to kick ass dispite your adversities, Josh!! We are doing it!
What an old soul!! Wise beyond his years. ❤
I love this podcast and I love the talk about self centeredness when I was younger, I used to think it was a bad thing but the older I got the more I think it isnt a bad thing. Sometimes, you can't help but think about yourself, whether it's good or bad, and that's perfectly fine. What's not fine is treating people badly intentionally or unintentionally
I’m glad Josh became honest about his relationship with Drake, and the wedding fiasco was not at all Josh’s fault and it’s a shame that people at that time weren’t understanding that they just weren’t close for Drake to come to his wedding, it’s a shame that Drake went down the path he did but it’s best for Josh to distance himself from Drake especially now that he’s married with a child
Drake is married with a child, too. But I see that Drake and Josh are following different paths as they get older. Josh figured out what is best for his family. Proves that people can change as they get older.
What part of the podcast
But now people are seeing that they were still very close, off and on. Like brothers in many ways. And now after watching the Drake & Janet podcast, people can see that a lot of josh’s story is not true-just promoting his book. Which is understandable, I think everyone does that. Josh saying he hadn’t talk to Drake in 10 years, or that Drake was posting negative things about him on his wedding night. We (those that know, or have read the interviews, and have seen them hanging out, or on UA-cam, on grandfathered, Drake’s parties) know that was not true.
But people do sometimes grow apart, from friends, and family. At least Drake is more sincere, and really tells it like it is. And has videos, pictures, TV appearances, to prove that he and Josh still kept in touch quite a bit over the years.
@@heyjarrod None of us really know their relationship. Media is different than real life. We do not know if they only saw each other once a blue moon. A lot happens behind the scenes of peoples lives that are not fully told. for all we know josh may have reasons for not wanting to be close to drake that he may not want to share...
It wasn’t necessary to take it online it was definitely a cry for attention.
First off Michael. I love what you do bro. You keep it real. You convey what I feel and Im sure thousands feel every day. I'm so damn grateful for this podcast you run. I think it maybe your life work here on earth. Acting is great but.... what you are doing here is the real meat and potatoes of life... answering questions like, how do we cope, why do i do xyz etc. God damn man, you are doing a fine job. And as for finding a woman. There is someone out there for you. Someone who gets all you quirky shit and accepts it all. Just keep being you man. Now on to Josh. Love this dude. Hes like a ray of sunshine :) Always makes me smile when i see him on video. Funny, honest, and what he had to say hit me hard. This whole episode hit me hard. Thank you. Both of you.
This is one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen. So much personality and just humbleness & respect.
I really enjoyed this episode. I didn't know that much about Josh but both my kids knew who he was. I now want to go out and get his book. He's very insightful and I cannot wait to learn more about him.
wow as a huge fan of Drake and Josh and remembering alot of it's lines, its crazy to know they both never got along, kinda sad really but that's the reality of it, it is what it is, but thank u josh for making my childhood great
I think I have listened to this episode five times and I just found this a week ago. It was so awesome to hear Josh speak and tell his story. Great episode! Thank you Michael, Josh, and Ryan!
Glad that Josh set the record straight about him and drake bell not every co star are friends in real life
He’s truly just such a wonderful human being, he entertained most of us in thru our childhood and teen years, I think I can speak for all when I say, we appreciate and love and value every bit of you Josh!
I feel for Josh same childhood with weight at least :) Managed to drop the weight around the same age got down to 190. But it didn't equal happiness or people liking you more. Slowly put it back on, but found my wife and had 2 great kids.
I would love to see Josh Peck play Superman.
This was so honest, open and brave! Thank you for this episode so much.
I grew up watching him and I thought our worlds were wide apart - but I relate to a tremendous amount of his experience!
This was so enjoyable and moving - thank you!
What a beautiful story about how life's challenges can be overcome: from the best to worst time. Josh really residnated with my own personal feelings and a few experiences and it was very heartwarming to hear that you overcome anything without all the BS. Great interview I think a lot of people in there 20s and 30s need to here
Hear* and yeah alot of ppl around my age should deff watch this and pay attention to it. Personally I myself relate to some of Josh's experiences. And I was already a fan from the Drake and Josh back in the day and Vine videos and the vlogs more recently. Im proud of him and how far hes come and everything he has overcome. Good for him. I hope he keeps it up and never gives up. Hes bound to have a great movie or show role come along sooner than later. (Side note) I love how he puts himself down a lot and thinks very little of himself. Hes so humble and down to earth. Just like I am so hes truly relatable.
The whole nobody's ever truly happy is actually pretty damn true because I feel that exact way every day!!
Mean Creek is an amazing film. Josh was great in it.
What a brilliant interview. I can definitely relate to Josh a lot, really want to read his book now. And his mother sounds like such a strong woman. Respect.
First time seeing him in a movie was snow day when I was kid. Watched that movie a million times. Then of course drake and Josh was just amazing! Wish nothing but the best for Josh.
Such a fun movie!
I often have to pause an episode and can’t always come back because life. I’m glad I came back for this one.
Different sides of the coin for me, but I relate to that line. ”When I’m around you I feel bad about me.”
It was nice kind of "catching up" with Josh Peck. I lost track of him after Drake and Josh, which was a show I enjoyed (as well as him on the Amanda Show and All That). Yes, he'd pop up on social media now and then, but it was good to hear from HIM and learn more about him and what happened after Drake and Josh. Also, I think I remember that whole Drake tweeting about not being at the wedding which yes, is just whatever. Totally makes sense why Josh didn't invite him after all the years and such. Anyway. This was a really nice and honest episode. He's as fun in real life as I saw in his character. I'm so glad he's doing well now and is happy. What a fun, talented, motivated man. I may be checking out his book in the future too. Awesome episode, Michael.
I met josh at New York ComicCon few years back, for humble and down to earth 👏👏
Best thing about Tuesdays 💙 Loved Josh Peck as Eddie in Ice Age. I’m looking forward to learning more about him in your interview. Hope you have an amazing week Michael and amazing time at the con this weekend. Love you ❤️ Happy Tuesday 💙
Josh would've been a great friend to grow up with to be honest. I feel I'd relate to him in ALOT of ways.
Rooting for this dude. Haven't seen him in anything but how I met your father but he kills it
Another week, another amazing guest and interview. Thank you Rosey🙏🏻. Going to enjoy learning more about Josh during my drive to work today. Safest travels and hope you have a wonderful weekend at the NWA con in Arkansas ❤️. Happiest week everyone!
Really solid episode Michael. Covers almost all the human bases of struggle. Keep keeping on buddy. Your cast is phenomenal! The Chief
I love your show! But please, let your guests finish their points. Sometimes you get super excited when they speak and start speaking for them. I do the same thing but sometimes they’re making great points and the direction changes when that happens!😃
I look forward to watching this one. Inside of you Tuesday is the best day of the week!!
Man, this was such a great episode! I grew up watching Drake and Josh on TV, and I had no idea Josh had such an interesting childhood.
Every one should listen to Drakes response on his channel/ first podcast episode.
14:05 I wish I'd had the same mentality. It took a long time of feeling like I wasn't good enough to even have a dad due to many circumstances when, in reality, it may have been him who wasn't gonna be good enough for me. Props for coping well and hopefully you continue to do well!
Your podcast is so cool. Words can't express how awesome it is. I see all the fabulous peeps you have on and it would be brain suicide to binge watch all of it, but I will savor it one at time. Keep on!
I think this is a wonderful show. Grew up watching you Michael. Love you of course. So glad you had Josh Peck on. He is such a kind and wonderful human being. He's a great actor and comedian. So happy for him and his family. He worked so hard for his success. Truly a good show! 👍🏻
His intro about his mom was one of the best here we are moments 🙌🙏
Honestly I came down the UA-cam rabbit hole and found this channel by chance but after sitting and listening to the interview I’m hooked. Now I’m subscribed and invested thanks UA-cam.
Thanks for this conversation! Really interesting. I respect Josh so much! Thanks Michael, for encouraging people to be open and honest and comfortable on your show.
Michael man... I love your work my friend, you do the best interviews no matter who is on. I'll watch no matter who you bring in
My two daughters loved Drake and Josh! I’m so happy Josh is doing well.
I found this as a recommendation and I enjoy your voices and will continue to watch more
56mins Drake conversation! 😊
funny thing is Miranda Cosgrove Played young Fairy Princess Lana in the pilot of Smallville, who was Josh's co-star on Drake and Josh . Cool interview ! Love Turner and Hooch.
He was kind of cool in red dawn, i hope he get more major roles in big studio serious movies in the future
He’s going to be in the new Christopher Nolan movie!
Wow, I can really relate to the early struggle of Josh. That's kinda where I'm at now (minus the drugs lol). I just feel lost more than anything. It's good to know I'm not alone. Now I just need to believe that.
I LOVE Josh Peck! He is hilarious!
Love him on How I met your Father too. But have watched him since Josh and Drake.
What an interesting insight into his world, I had no idea. Now I want to check out his book!
👏👏👏
Wtf is josh and drake
YES!!!! Love Josh Peck!!!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Happiness is fleeting. The real goal is joy.
This was a great podcast!
This is awesome Josh peck is great loved him on Drake and Josh haven’t seen any of his recent stuff
*Flash runs over Oprah.*
Josh: He ran over ORPAH!!!
As an actor, not the biggest fan past Drake and Josh, that's just my childhood, but as a person, I love Josh
Josh should play ross if friends was remade
Michael, I really love your podcast and I think it deserves more views and subscribers. You're so good at making your guests feel comfortable and open up. I also enjoy listening to your soothing voice. Keep up the good work and never let self doubt or negative thinking stop you from doing what you love. You deserve the best in life!
Could not agree more!
First off, Josh Peck is the man, and I am glad to see him doing well! Also, Michael, you need to have Dane Cook on your show, because if the two of you both spoke in to the mics, I might not be able to tell who is who.
Love listening to this. Josh peck is so interesting. I grew up watching all his shows. Never knew what his life was really like until recently hearing about his book, podcasts, etc
I remember seeing mean creek and if you haven’t see it, soon. It’s gut wrenching. He has the ability to be one of hollywoods best actors. Great interview
I know Josh from Mean Creek. One of my favorite films of all time.
Great guest great episode... This is the best podcast out there!! Rosenbaum rules!!!
We need these two to do some a show or comedy stand up together!!!! They would work well together.
Don't know if Josh will ever see this comment, but just incase. The Wackness is an awesome movie. Saw it in theatres. Loved it.
I remember him from Drillbit Taylor with Owen Wilson. I wonder what was his experience like working with Owen Wilson?
So much respect for Josh and I love that The Wackness was brought up! Definitely one of my favorite movies!
I never knew that I needed this interview❤️ Truly loved it and I will definitely read his books after my finals, so excited 😆
Such a good episode! Thank you for sharing! Hope you feel better soon! 💕
This podcast should be at the level of Joe Rogan or so. It is incredibly wholesome even though the guests are from the entertainment business, this dude has found a way to bring dignity, substance and great content to a world that is usually empty and narcissistic!! Great Job
I loved this interview. I saw you guys connect. It became more than an interview. I have no idea who Josh Peck was
Actually "Inside of You" reminds me of that song Russell Brand did in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" LOL!!
Dude is so cool, open, and chill.
Josh, I’m not a fan type guy, but you got a new fan.
👍🏼👍🏼
I remember the early 2000's watching drake & Josh when I got home from school wow great memories
Great episode, get Drake on the show!! Hearing both sides of the story is helpful
One of your best interviews Michael. Josh was really open and cool.
What a great pod, I could listen to Josh for hours.
Great interview with the star of my favorite childhood show, so many great memories thanks to Josh, and hearing his journey was so interesting.
This host interrupts in all the best moments
If you all haven't seen Mean Creek...do it. It was my Jr. High. Phenomenal film. Peck is a legend. God bless him and his art.
Dude! Love Josh Peck! Watching HIMYF, I thought I was #TeamDrew, but in reality, I think I am #TeamJoshPeck. Loved Turner and Hooch, Josh.
"The Wackness" is one of my favorite films. Saw it in theaters in Knoxville and recommend it to this day.
Can relate with the "under the weather" no covid thank god, just Bronchitis. Loved this episode, Josh is a phenomenal actor, thank you for sharing. Sending Good Health vibes your way Michael. Also: I always think happy people, happy crowds have a bigger agenda.
I had covid a month ago. I'd rather have omicron than Bronchitis.
Covid is harmless
@@dalecooper2232 My only response to that is you should be ashamed of yourself, but since you already replied to a comment like an idiot, I'm sure that means nothing to you.
jesus christ, give me a break you paranoid freak.... 🙄
Agreed... Bronchitis is much worse than Omicron IMO
