    Good morning from USA! Just finished by first spokeshave restoration and its also a Stanley #51 from the 1800's. I have a Stanely #80 from around 1918 that need attention too but I'm still learning and practicing on the technique of using them. Thanks for the video!

    After cleaning a spokeshave or hand plane up is there anything special you might do afterwards such as a coat of paste wax or oil? I’ve noticed the refurbished tools in your collection have a really nice patina.

      Yes I do give things a coat of wax then burnish with a dry cloth it gives things a nice glow.
      I did mean to say that on my video.
