He's not low key. It's just that most defenders didn't want to get exposed because their EGOS would be crushed through eating dirt. Remember it's not his midrange range shooting but it was his STAMINA and mobility that was the real problem. He has very good spatial awareness that's why he knew where to move iand position himself so his good pal Billups can make better judgement and calls.

People think it’s a bad thing, but Rip is truly one of the greatest at that role. And that makes me like basketball i even pattern my game after him and makes me two times varsity player in highschool. People say you can't succeed if you are not athletic if you are thin but what they don't know is you need heart and fundamentals more than physical tool and that what makes him a champion. Rip has been my favorite player since i started watching basketball in 2003, Dude was such a baller now hes a class act kind of guy. Hes attended so many fundraisers and charitys in the community of detroit and other parts of michigan.
The way he always played off the ball never being a selfish player always in motion he would tire out the other guards in the league by half time, then rip and chauncey would go to work on them in the 2nd half, Can't forget tayshaun and the wallaces but everyone on that team played perfectly with eachother we had such smart players on the bench in elden cambell lindsey hunter darvin dunkin ham the pistons knew how to make a team back then and it really showed with the players hard work and will to want to win. I dont think rip would have been the player he was with any other team than that pistons roster, Was sad to see them fall apart after ben signed with the bulls. We havent had another player like rip or reggie miller in the league since and i dont think we will ever see another player who goes out and works that hard again. I'll remember rip for mainly two things:
He was CLUTCH in every way. Not just game winners, but he got buckets anytime your team needed it. Down by 8 and game slipping away? Rip hits back-to-back threes and you're right back in it.
Also is insane STAMINA is only rivaled by guys like Iverson and Rodman. He essentially never got tired out there. Some guys can Make it through playing 48 minutes in a single game, but he would be out there still at 99.5% energy, sprinting Non-Stop and bouncing around screens.

This dude was a 2pts shooter machine, relentless and with insane mobility around the course.
As a Spurs fan I grew up hatin' on this Pistons team so much, and Rick Hamilton was the main reason for it.
That Piston team had great names as you mention in the video, but I'd take Hamilton over the rest of the team any day, that's how good of a scorer he was on his prime.

Thanks for giving some love to the pistons. I want the NBA to show the game when we held the lakers below 70 in the finals on the streams they’ve been doing lately but it probably won’t happen because they’re too busy showing all the playoff games that we lost...

When I watch Klay Thompson play, her reminds me A LOT of Rip. I'm a Pistons fan so that's naturally the first shooter that comes to my mind. But after watching Rip play all of those years, you saw just how little Rip had to dribble which was awesome to see. It meant he could spend his energy on getting in position and defense. Also saved energy for the rest of the team on defense as well since all they had to do was pick for him on offense.

Rip Hamilton is one of my influences in the game of basketball is his excellence in off-ball movement, change of speed using screens, and most of all, his mastery in catch and shoot in the mid-range area.
It's just sad how underrated he and his game are, especially in this three-point era.
If only players today could see the beauty of his game and emulate it, it would be impossible for him to be on the bench.

Rip was a great cog in a great system in Detroit. He was a true mid-range shooter, and off the ball savant. A side note; I saw Rip once in person during his playing days, at a grocery store in LA, and he wasn't friendly at all. I said hello to him at point blank range, and not even a hello or head-nod reciprocated from him.
