So, here's some advice for you. Rather than trying to hold it perfectly straight off the ground and cutting too low, try basically dragging it at the angle you want. It's only going to cut to height your leaning it and won't scalp. You also won't have to bend over trying to keep it level. I've been doing this it's super, super fast and consistent.
@@thelawnhub finally grabbed it mate, and I hear you when you have to drop down a bit to make the blade flat with the lawn. My left arm gets a workout also as it does get heavy. What are you additional thoughts with the rotary scissors? Are you edging with it? I also grabbed the edger attachment as I did use the rotary to edge but feels awkward so may take some practice. I'm not super happy yet but maybe I need to use it more. Only thing I like is that you can tell Stihl make amazingly well built products.
I bought the exact unit you have I use the harness it is a lot easier on my back I do it exactly the same way you where doing it against the concrete with out damage to it Sthil sell a spray that you spray on the blades when you finish This is a fantastic tool
The rotary scissors are a perfect compliment to the lawn when you're mowing with a cylinder. I've thrashed my Stihl rotary scissors for a season now, still running exceptional. Only advice Id give is avoid using them vertically for digging into dirt for edging, will damage blades ( especially if theres rock in the dirt) - top video as always! 👍
If you haven't figured it out yet, you can move the lower handle higher up the handle. If you can't get it high enough so you can stand straight you may want to consider purchasing a shaft extension coupler Usually used for extending pole saws and hedge trimmers.
Oof, spicy meatball at 500 bucks for an attachment - cant argue with those results though. If you're a tight ass like me a set of electric grass shears are good for the fuzzy edges a cylinder mower leaves.
its way too short. A real back breaker designed for dwarfs. ill have to get a darwin grip. i bought it for areas with stones that can fly around but its too slow to cover even a few square metres. Id only recommend it for edging on premium lawns
And fling stones or other rubbish into the faces of people walking by? Sorry, that was a 'lame' response. The scissor head is ideal for public places where stones being flung by whipper snippers etc could be possible etc., like besides cars on a side walk etc too.

Thanks mate. Good advice.
As soon as I saw Clint in the opening, I knew it was a going to be good.
Keep it coming mate. Max loves hearing it!
Just ordered this combo, super pumped to give it a whirl! Cheers for the demo big fella
Keep us posted with your results mate.

Thanks Darryl. I'll look into the spray.

It's on the cards for next spring!
I’m going to hop down to my Stihl shop to get one of these bad boys 🤙🏻
It's a great unit mate. I'm going to buy a few others and do reviews on them all.
@@thelawnhub hedge and edger please!
Would have been nice to see all grass next to white fence cut .
You can spray blades with fluid film after use and also should be aware there is a grease opening in back of head for periodic maintenance

Definitely an investment. But quality gear costs money. I'm fortunate these bad boys are tax deductible!
add the 50cm extension pole to make it longer / taller for yourself
Thanks mate. Ill suss that out.
Try Darwins Grip. Makes a huge difference holding the trimmer
We’ve heard this a couple of times now, will have to try it!
Get a darwin's grip. It'll save your back. Cheers.
Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely be ordering one of them.
Can we order this in the USA?
I would assume so, As STIHL is in America.

Clint agrees, his back was shot after using it!
How tall are you?
187cm
There should be strimmers for taller people
There's an attachment I am looking at!
idk this tool seems lame. just use the trimmer
We like the quality of cut that it provides. It’s 10x crisper than a trimmer.

its not lame but is is very specialised
Waste of money
Clint rates hit!
