Yes mate there's just no need to come up wit new designs every year. Look at the beautiful Arsenal away kit from last year and then this year... If it ain't broke don't change it but of course the incoming profit has already been spent or accounted for.
100% it was far better. I don't mind the away kit changing every season as you can experiment more but every year for the home is too much. Sheer greed. The Spurs kit is literally the same as two seasons ago.
If clubs are insistent on pushing out a 3rd/4th kit every single year then it should be mandatory for at least one of those shirts to have a local business as it’s sponsor.
I personally think having a simple, historic home kit then going a bit avant garde with the away kit is a good balance. Keeps the club history but also give opportunity for flair
Absolute agreement with you chaps. Far too many kits. The classic Arsenal Adidas shirt worn at Anfield in 1989 was used over 3 seasons. The brilliant Weetabix kit from 1997-99. The invincibles was 2002-04. The manufacturers would still make their money. The Arsenal away of last season - the black shirt/shorts was their most popular seller ever. The first time the away had outsold the home. Heard even the players were giving the kitroom away to friends and family they were that popular. Sold out everywhere. Adidas could easily have that over 2 seasons.
Thank you! I’ve been saying this to myself for a very long time. The premier league can can pride itself as the most watched and the most competitive league, however the kits cannot say the same thing. They’re worlds behind the Bundesliga in that regard. I look forward to actually seeeing their kits unveiled every year. Every teams kit is smart and crisp and creatively driven. Step it up, England.
I gave up on buying my teams shirts years ago, mainly because I’m 43 now and a tad over weight lol but also because I just don’t think the effort goes into the designs now. I think back to some of our iconic shirts from years ago, such as our 1990 away shirt (the Adidas light blue and white snowflake design) or our early to mid 90’s Umbro shirts (The lace up collar home shirt) and (the 94/95 Old Trafford print home shirt) also the Newton Heath throw back Green and Gold 3rd shirt. Even in the early 00’s we had some cracking shirts, the reversible away shirt which was white on one side and the other side was gold. I always look at our shirts now and feel like most other teams shirts are way better designs. The fact that kits are only out for a season now and not two just shows how the modern fan is getting rinsed for every penny possible.
As a huge 80s and 90s kit designs fan (of all teams), I love the technical detail here, and the fact that these guys are proven elite top-end kit designer, just brilliant!
The point about the counterfeits was really on point. It’s harder to justify paying as much every season for rather incremental kits. Economic hardships not withstanding, yearly purchases of kits that aren’t that different is more of a collector’s habit rather than a fan’s. They’re getting more expensive, there are 3 main kits, occasional 4th kits like the Barca one or the PSG one last season. Counterfeits nowadays have crept up in terms of quality in my opinion. My counterfeit Liverpool shirt is mighty close to the one in store, and cost me 1/10th. Is it ethical? Idk.
We totally understand that, it’s definitely a tough one. Unfortunately we might be about to make that decision even tougher, as we have someone coming soon to talk about the counterfeit industry, and it’s not good! That’s why we think the industry needs to change. We can’t keep on in a situation where fans are forced to make these difficult decisions. Thanks a lot for supporting our content! 🙌
@@TheKitBreakdown Love your content and the holistic view towards shirts. It's interesting to understand what it means to have a football jersey or the story behind. Most channels just cover the shirt, how it looks, whether they like it and that's it. To get a proper review from someone experienced is rare. On to the counterfeit industry bit, definitely concerning, but I do feel companies claiming that don't have much moral high ground to begin with. The economic crunch could either make people more cautious, or let the counterfeit industry boom, coz that industry isn't stopping now. It's also not justified to only blame teams and manufacturers, these are million or billion dollar establishments, they definitely know there's a market to cater to, it's down to the people now.
@@TheKitBreakdown I’d be really interested in this as someone who has kids and buy shirts regularly for them from DHGate. We may have to be more conscious and ethical as buyers but are the clubs and brands for the authentic ones?
I fully agree with 10:18, sometimes your club releases a banger of a kit but it’s only around for a season. That type of cycle would be nice, and for modernity a club can release a third every year or maybe even 2 or 3 like psg does. But for home and away ID love to see a 2 year cycle
I have just stumbled across this video and amazed it’s the first time I have heard someone else say this! I watch premiership years and have always said in the last 10-15 years you can’t tell what’s old or new no more due to the kits never changing much! Definitely needs pressuring as the evolution has definitely slowed down
Great video and agree with your points in general but one correction the new Liverpool away kit is an homage to the 95/96 away shirt which was just solid white and darker green squares.
Thanks. Yeah, we didn't phrase that very well. We knew the original reference point but our complaint was that it had been revisited fairly recently. In isolation I think it would make a good shirt, it just feels too soon after the last one... - Rob
I believe the Liverpool away kit is paying homage to the 93-95 away kit gents. I think the NB one from a few years ago was paying homage to the same one, however.
In Malaysia, we even have different grades of counterfeit kits 😂 The best being what is called "copy ori" - almost indistinguishable from the replicas sold in stores. And yes there is even "player issue". 🤣
Premier league kits now sell 2 per club. One replica kit which used to be standard is now £100 Vs what was £50 in 2018. They then offer the fans a £50 shirt which has noticeable markings missing which serves no purpose other than to point out it's not the £100 version. So thanks premier league kit designers you've now created a class divide amongst fans
The marks on the Spurs home is to do with the sounds of N17. The shirt is similar to the 19-20 home shirt. It's why I usually stick to away and 3rd Spurs shirts as they at least have colour differences. Most designs for the Premier League this season are underwhelming, the Palace pre-match graphic being the only real exception. More impressed this year with Plymouth and Wimbledon kits. about £30+ cheaper than the standard Premier League shirt too.
I think the Man Utd kit is inspired by the first Vodafone shirt, the collar design is very close to it. I’m biased as a fan, but out of those kits you showed it’s the best one from a design point of view in my opinion. Love the extra deep dive you’ve given for these shirts, which most football shirt influencers don’t offer. I’d love to know your opinion on kits like Venezia and Athens Kallithea, which are very fashion forward. In my experience the Venezia home kit last season was very poor quality with peeling sponsor logo after one wash and the collar not laying flat. Would love to see a deeper dive on this by you guys!
Arsenal's pink third kit last season was given a big marketing push, loads of people bought it and then it was only worn ONCE by the men's first team, away at Bournemouth. Huge agree that we are releasing far too many kits every season and you can tell the manufacturers don't care anymore, to them it's a low effort money making exercise. The kit quality gets worse and worse every year whilst the prices go up, whilst oftentimes third kits get fewer than 5 run outs by the mens first team. I rarely buy them nowadays, if ever.
10:41 preach! It’s scandalous and as is obvious by this breakdown, the desire to churn so many kits is coming at the cost of good design and quality. Love this work chaps new sub from me.
From Europe, I think the new PSV kit and the new Stuttgart kit are absolutely lovely. You are spot on about counterfeit... I bought the new Cardiff City away top the other day off DH gate. Ill gladly take the risk coz it was only 15 quid!!
Great video as always, fellas! It seems to me like there's a vicious circle going on here, where the need to churn out three unique kits a year leads to burned-out designers putting out mediocre. Going down to two shirts a year would make the quality of them just so much higher.
Absolutely loved the sincerity and thoroughness of this video! You guys rock. Personally I'm a guy that respects the history of Premier League clubs and don't mind classic looks like Liverpool's or Everton's (apart from that godawful stitch quality). What I feel that it's always off about them all is the lack of agility by the sponsors. No matching colors, backgrounds, fonts... and a rising in sports' betting businesses is worrying. Also, the 2nd and 3rd kits. There is hardly an alternate that doesn't hurt the eyes, it's always bright and complete obnoxious colours, never something simple (That is why I love Man United's white alternate this year, excellent design with a classic touch). I feel like the history of the clubs are constantly overlooked, like that incredible mistake on the Arsenal's kit, and the templates are weak to begin with. Again guys, thank you for your opinion on this, very refreshing to see these reviews so directly in UA-cam!
Conterfite garments seem to have struck a chord with a number of people.... I get it, I really do, the clubs/brands have to take some responsibility, for the cost of garments and how much they are the same, seasons on season. I can't really blame a family of 4 for thinking twice. the challenge is where these things are coming from and the impact it has on the smaller clubs and brands. Anyway Thanks for all the comments and please do check out our Special Episode on SDA about Conterfite Football kits:) have a great weekend and Up The TOON!!
Plus counterfeit kits are getting so much better now. Most that I've seen are so close to the original kits without paying so much for it. All about options now. Very understandable if fans choose to buy counterfeit kits now.
Maybe it's because I'm old, but i can't fathom paying £80 for a kit that changes annually. Back when i was a wee lad, we paid £30 for a kit, and it's for 2 seasons.
Just stumbled across your channel. This is great. I love the detailed look at them all. On other channels that I've seen kit reviews you just tend to get "yeh this is alright or yeh this is nice". I like the little insights into how they've been made etc. Nice one 👍
Madrid and adidas kinda figured it out, white is always the base, but the stripes colors are always radically different every year. This year it's from purple, to black & yellow. But yeah I wish I'm not pressured to buy new kits every year...
I definitely agree giving a kit 2 seasons so it at least sticks in our minds. What do you think about baggy kits and big PL font on jerseys? I liked when kits were big and players would tuck in the shirt But I understand times have changed and style is more refined now
I'm from Canada. Great video. The quality and design, for my taste, were better in the of the 90's through the end of 2000's. Now, most of them look like an expensive T-shirt.😔 It's not only Premier league shorts but all football shirts. I don't spend my money anymore on an almost same design from 2 to 5 years before and done again and again.
I like how NBA teams do jerseys, simple home and away designs that they keep for over a decade and then new 3rd, 4th sometimes even 5th jerseys every season that are more adventurous and can cater to the fan who likes new shirts every season. Simple home and away shirts in recognised club colours would be a bit of a throwback to how 60s and 70s shirts were basically the same every season, but multiple change shirts satisfies the modern fan so something for everyone
The MLS has a home kit for 2 yrs. Then the next yr. they release the away kit for 2 yrs & rotate that way. I know it is America but that way works 10:39
At this point i just feel it's got to the point of being incredibly saturated with way too many football kits releases. Can understand the marketing and money making aspect but think it's a good idea to go back to the older days of using the same home kit for 2 seasons while having an away kit release on that same and the previous season away kit using as a third kit or the previous 3rd kit using as an away kit which Man utd famously done in the 2000s. As someone who has sentimental love for football shirts,i just don't think the kits have too many sentimental values as they used to have because many tends to forget them unless they have something huge. Brands aren't just charging but are coming to the point where it's just saturated due to endless amount of choices worse is the shirts aren't the same. It's something I really do think brands should change at one point. Plus i agree with the whole template thing too..
My biggest issue with the home kits is that they look identical almost every season. Nike is the biggest offender of that, it’s just the same home kit every season. Back in the 00’s/Noughts the kits were really well designed and some became iconic. Adidas, Reebok, Umbro and even Nike were putting out some amazing kits back in the 00’s. I’m a Liverpool fan and my two favourite Liverpool home kits were our Reebok kit from 2004 to 2006, and our Adidas home kit from 2008 to 2010. I’m not a fan of these clubs but by far Chelsea’s best home kit was their Umbro 2005/2006 kit, and by far Arsenal’s best home kit was their 05/06 maroon kit. But in recent years the home kits are the exact same every season with minor changes, and the away kits are far too gimmicky these days.
Great video guys, totally agree that clubs should go back to the two year basis for the shirts. Can I ask, what is the shirt underneath the Everton shirt in the background? White B and a winged skull emblem? Thanks guys!
Just discovered this channel and I love all videos so far Have you ever considered doing a video covering jerseys from Denmark or Scandinavia in general?
Hi guys, really rate the video and just want to share my thoughts I agree - it feels like we’re just regurgitating the same designs year in year out. The same material/fabrics are being used while changing very minor details to the look and charging exorbitant prices which is extremely unreasonable for consumers. In Europe a replica jersey is anywhere between €90 - €100 + extra for badges / name & number. How you justify charging upwards of €20 to apply a plastic name and number to a jersey via heat press blows my mind, and don’t get me started on the extra cost of ‘authentic’ match day jerseys. In the case of Nike/Adidas, the brand and club logo are also applied via heat press, and many people have said they just fall off after a few spins in the washing machine, yet you pay a much higher price for it. I feel as though Adidas, Nike, Puma etc., need to be held accountable as the quality of jerseys these days just aren’t the same as what they used to be, yet kits cost so much more these days and only seem to increase. As you mentioned it is no surprise there is such a big market for counterfeit kits. I understand margins need to be made but at what point does enough become enough? I would love to hear your review of AC Milan’s 23/24 Replica vs Authentic Away kit. I recently visited the Milan store to compare the two, and could not comprehend how they justify charging so much for the ‘authentic’ player variant of the jersey. The material literally feels like fish and chip shop paper. Anyway love the channel and Insta, keep it up, cheers
Or like the NBA, with the Throwbacks; I completely agree! Would absolutely love to have Newcastle run with a big boxy striped kit and the Northern Rock sponsor again!
@@craigbuglass8434 I’ve had them since they first came out. You never see them anywhere for sale nowadays and with the price some of these ordinary shirts now go for they must be worth a lot. Think there was a Korea one too but I’m very happy with the 3 that I’ve got.
You guys are spitting the truth. Too many kits released per season. 3 kits x 2 (player + fan ver) + 3 training kits (2 each half-season + European). That's ourageous! Still very enjoying your dry humour but very educational videos! PS: and I forgot 2 prematch kits. Jeezzz! PS2: They got "Pro" training version for God's sake!
I like what United and few other teams used do about a decade ago where they would release a new home and away kit and the previous seasons away would become the new 3rd kit. So at least the kit would get decent use and not become redundant so quickly
Great video guys. I think thee main issue is exactly what you highlighted, too many kits and not enough innovation. It's quantity over quality and it stings consumers the most. More time spent on less shirts would allow for more innovative kits but it seems like these companies solely care about profit.
Brilliant Video! I agree, two year kit cycles should return and reduce fast fashion. How can Arsenal charge £80 per shirt(Adidas) Brighton & HA £60(Nike) and AFC Wimbledon £53( Umbro). Arsenal are charging £27 more than AFCWimbledon for example.
No idea if you chaps were involved, but a friend worked at Umbro and three United players were brought in to see the new design, I believe it was Dennis Irwin who proclaimed "I'm not wearing that s****" true story!
i think having a kits for two seasons is also good becasue there's more time for special moments to happen in it and the kit will become iconic in 5-10 years
Initially i came across this channel and thought it was a fan/consumer channel. But awesome to get insights from two professional kit designers who know what they are talking about
As a villa fan I’ll probably fork out the money on a shirt this season bc of the new badge, but as for the future, I don’t think I’d be inclined to pay £80 for a plain claret shirt with blue sleeves, it’s ludicrous
Don’t think it’s necessarily the designers fault …… after 20 years off changing kits twice as often as they should we would always eventually scrape the barrel … which I feel is where we at …… home kits need to go back to 2 year cycles …… full stop ……if it wasn’t for sponsorship changing so often I would say away and 3rd kits could only change after they have been worn individually x numbers off times by the team … again at least every 2/3 seasons for the average team …… agree mostly as a spurs fan about your comments … last home shirt I bought was the last adidas one from about 20 years ago! Have nice home 15/16? under armour shorts which have nice trim which similar design to 88 ussr and 93 England ones … and Should have bought first Nike one but didn’t get round to it …… all the other home shirts especially after 1st Nike one have been pants …… for context since that last home shirt I’ve bought 5 “change” ( away or 3rd) shirts since then and had I got around to it could have easily bought 10 …… that’s not because I prefer the colours … but because even with a few shocking Kits spurs have still had much better efforts with the other kits then the homes!
As a football fan that has grew up during the 2 years 1 kit times, I feel like that was a much better way to release kits. If I got a kit and put a player's name on the back, that shirt would represent 2 seasons of him with the shirt as opposed to 1, which already makes the shirt more iconic and significant. Also, a new kit, in the form of an away kit or a home kit, came every other season which was always great to anticipate. Now, it's 3 kits a season which is pretty overwhelming. To add to that, the fact that I had less to buy in terms of kits gave me the incentive to buy other apparel from my club (i.e. training kit, gloves etc). Something that I now barely do because the kits themselves cost me a fortune.
Finally someone pointing out the horrible Hummel kits. Even though I remember you liked the Danish national team kit they used in Qatar, I've been so disappointed with the lack of creativity and just using old designs and not making them better or more in tune with what we want to see in todays market.
Regarding the Adidas and Nike sponsored teams, I'm shocked how bad they are. Same templates, just different colours. No personality. Just looks like they were done in a hurry. "Oh, we have this basic design kinda in your clubs' colour. Let's just get the badge on and go for lunch"..
As a Liverpool fan born in '73, I really love the home shirt.I actually couldn't stand last season's shirt, it looked bland and lifeless compared to now with a bold white collar. The minecraft shirt makes me want to vomit, but the lilac third shirt will definitely get a purchase, that'll look great in bright sunlight, and even better if they sell a player version.
I completely agree that's why as liverpool fan,I haven't even bought any nike kits, waiting for something different & unique to put it into my collection!!!😮
You could do a whole lot worse than just buying the superb retro "Umbro" pinstripe shirts from 1981 & 1982, that have the Crown Paints logos. Liverpool still get the revenue from their fans but they get a couple of timeless classics in the red and the yellow pinstriped change kits. My Dad got me to support LFC as a kid & I had these shirts. Trust me they were really such a revolution from the nipple ripper tops in the 70s
I agree that too many kits get released... teams should use a kit for 2yrs, and the home and away kit should be staggered a year, so both don't change at the same time.
I agree with everything, crazy how there has been no innovation these years. I also don't like at all how these big brands are creating 3 templates and are designing teams' shirts just by coloring these templates or by changing minimal details, awfully industrial. Ironically Instagram and TikTok are full of amateur kit designers that are designing amazing and innovating kits, how the hell can Nike and Adidas have less talented teams working on these shirts.
The answer to your last question about Nike/Adidas? If they had innovative talent, they would want paying a good amount for their talents. Get a bunch of cheapo staff in, it maximises profits to get the masses of fans to continuously buy in the shirts, like blinkered laboratory rats. Nothing quite like getting a fool to part with their money out of blind deluded loyalty
Fully agree with the point abuot the price of the kits and what you actually get in return. As a Liverpool fan, the Nike home shirts have been awful, especially the stadium shirts. I wouldn't pay £10 for that basic piece of polyester let alone £50+. The problem is of course I am in the minority. There are literally thousands of people that will throw money at this rubbish. I only half blame the brands, the buyers themselves have to take responsibility (like most of the commenters here do) and stop feeding the beast. If the prices came down and there was more product innovation then I'd be happy with new shirts every season. Until that happens we'll remain in this downward spiral and the countefeiters will continue to profit.
For me, a chest sponsor makes or breaks a shirt. If the chest sponsor is an obscure company without any "heritage" or is some kind of ethically questionable enterprise (such as payday loans) the whole thing falls flat for me. Even if the shirt is competent in all other areas, the aesthetics and so-called prestige of the chest sponsor is key.
You guys should check out MLS kits. Adidas makes them all and for the most part they range from good to insanely good 🥶 they’re also on a 2 year rotation.
Truth is that clubs don't really give a shit about their fans/supporters and treat us all like customers. From match tickets, to shirts, to the price of a pint at the game, we are all being ripped off royally. And the worst part is, there's nothing we can or will do about it.
I have multiple French basketball shirts and they are almost totally sublimated. Absolutely smashes the junk that all the football clubs are churning out with crappy plastic sponsors and club badges.
I really agree about keeping kits for longer. You can see the designers are struggling to come up with new ideas or making tenuous links to local architecture or obscure cultural references in the designs. I'm really not impressed by any of the kits for Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool, Spurs. I think City's home shirt is ok and I really like Chelsea's home and away kits. As you say generally the standard is very low.
Dad of 3 here. I now buy fake kits for my kids (about £25-£30 each) which are completely good enough for my younger kids and I may buy myself a real training top (£40), possibly a year old. No way can I afford, or willing to pay c£320... And that's without a name and number on the back which the kids love. The affect is that as kids fake kits are more realistically priced, grandparents tend to buy different teams for them as presents. So my team are not only losing out on my custom, they're indirectly causing younger fans to start supporting, or at least liking, other teams!
Check out the Ipswich shirts from this season and last. Brilliant from Umbro. We used to have Adidas. All generic designs. Umbro ones are individual. Best kits we have had for years. At the end of the day the whole kit thing is a pisstake.
Completely agree on the volume of kits each season. It just seems to be getting out of hand, would much rather it go back to every two years rotation with 1 new one each season. Madrid 3rd kit this year is an example where they have two dark kits and yet surely a 3rd kit is really to offer an alternative colour!
This is why Napolis owner doesn't want to sign with a big brand, he wants more design control. Football needs to get its act together on.the whole with all the prices.
It has always seemed so strange to me that we are told football clubs have such strong identities, while entirely changing how they look on the field every single year. Why can’t ‘the shirt’ just be a t-shirt in the team’s colours and their badge on the chest? Generally there isn’t much to learn from American sports but I would love a NHL-style league-wide deal that uses the same template that each team would add their badge and colours to.

Unfortunately, the way our society works. That will never happen. Money is king.
So by mandatory, you're suggesting we force a local business to pay millions to sponsor the team?
It should be mandatory to wear one without a sponsor (and sell it as such)

I love how Brentford is starting to use one jersey for two seasons, I really hope other clubs follow that
Is that down to Brentford though?? Or is it a decision that Umbro has made??
Pretty sure it’s a Brentford initiative. Part of their commitment to sustainability.
Its better like that too. I personally did

Idk.
Well said
We totally understand that, it’s definitely a tough one. Unfortunately we might be about to make that decision even tougher, as we have someone coming soon to talk about the counterfeit industry, and it’s not good!
That’s why we think the industry needs to change. We can’t keep on in a situation where fans are forced to make these difficult decisions.

It was indeed! It just seems a bit soon to go back to that specific inspiration so quickly after the New Balance one.
Wrong green too looks shite
In Malaysia, we even have different grades of counterfeit kits 😂 The best being what is called "copy ori" - almost indistinguishable from the replicas sold in stores. And yes there is even "player issue". 🤣
The 95-96 away kit, to be precise.
chelsea's sponsorless design is nice this season
For me the 90's kits were some of the best!
Definitely. It’s a big problem!
I think that the EFL kits this season are much better looking and better designed than the premier league kits
This is one of the best detailed kit review videos. Subscribing this channel right now! Great work guys!
Yep the whole industry has become a complete ripoff.
Thanks for the honesty lads
Arsenal's pink third kit last season was given a big marketing push, loads of people bought it and then it was only worn ONCE by the men's first team, away at Bournemouth. Huge agree that we are releasing far too many kits every season and you can tell the manufacturers don't care anymore, to them it's a low effort money making exercise. The kit quality gets worse and worse every year whilst the prices go up, whilst oftentimes third kits get fewer than 5 run outs by the mens first team. I rarely buy them nowadays, if ever.
It’s a crying shame!
The pink kit was also worn away at Palace on the first game of last season.
10:41 preach! It’s scandalous and as is obvious by this breakdown, the desire to churn so many kits is coming at the cost of good design and quality. Love this work chaps new sub from me.
The two tone Chelsea badge is quite interesting
From Europe, I think the new PSV kit and the new Stuttgart kit are absolutely lovely. You are spot on about counterfeit... I bought the new Cardiff City away top the other day off DH gate. Ill gladly take the risk coz it was only 15 quid!!
Great video as always, fellas! It seems to me like there's a vicious circle going on here, where the need to churn out three unique kits a year leads to burned-out designers putting out mediocre. Going down to two shirts a year would make the quality of them just so much higher.
We think so too! Also better for the environment, so win-win!
This is a quality analysis. Put number one on quality for the new kit every season.
Ive stopped buying new kits for 10 years now. And even during then i was buying kits from 2-3 seasons back as theyre usually on a big discount!
Are you going to do the rest of the kits in the PL, loved this
Some great points mentioned in the comments. If only the prem wasn't so money dominated and could actually have local sponsors on 3rd strips.
I got the liverpool away from covid season & the counterfeit version as well no difference
Nice one 👍
Thanks a lot! 🙌
Tip - I switched from Soccer to Rugby and all my jerseys improved drastically.
I liked when kits were big and players would tuck in the shirt
But I understand times have changed and style is more refined now
Loved Manchester United shirts in the 90’s Umbro were great
I'm from Canada.
An interesting take, this! Maybe you’re right, and the solution is in looking at how all the different sports operate, like NBA.
Everton havent even gotten the training kit out yet. Something has gone very wrong in producing the gear
As a Coventry city fan I’d love to hear your views on championship kits
The MLS has a home kit for 2 yrs. Then the next yr. they release the away kit for 2 yrs & rotate that way. I know it is America but that way works 10:39
Brighton and brentford are 2 clubs who use at least one of the same kit 2 years in a row. Makes sense tbh
Loving these vlogs fellas. Love how you detail things a lot of folk would miss. Keep up the good work! Cheers
Thanks a lot! Always aiming to educate and entertain 🙌
I kind of like the Man U away kit in person, little different spin something outside of the usual stuff.
Keep the home shirt for two seasons and then the away/alternative kits you can change
It’s from BLCKSMTH apparel! They do some really cool wrestling x football kit concepts
Just discovered this channel and I love all videos so far
Have you ever considered doing a video covering jerseys from Denmark or Scandinavia in general?
Thanks so much Andreas! If there’s demand for it, we’d definitely look into it :)
Hi guys, really rate the video and just want to share my thoughts
I agree - it feels like we’re just regurgitating the same designs year in year out.
They should do a retro kit like they do in the nfl. Also a colour rush kit would be sick too.
Or like the NBA, with the Throwbacks; I completely agree! Would absolutely love to have Newcastle run with a big boxy striped kit and the Northern Rock sponsor again!
i personally hate how the sleeve length has been reduced. the older kits used to have 3/4 sleeves and that makes the tshirt looks so much better
I’ve got those special Brazil and Portugal shirts in the boxes top left, I got the Dutch edition too
Very nice! They’re Craig’s designs 😎
good lad, I wanna get them all, but the wife says NO
@@craigbuglass8434 I’ve had them since they first came out.
Glad you’re enjoying the content! We really appreciate the support
cheers dude!
Nice to see a channel talking about kits but clearly all kits are subjective.
Thoughts on the two Carlisle strips this season? Extremely unique
I like what United and few other teams used do about a decade ago where they would release a new home and away kit and the previous seasons away would become the new 3rd kit. So at least the kit would get decent use and not become redundant so quickly
Brighton still do this today 😊
As a clothing Buyer and football fan I really enjoyed this video!
“As a clothing buyer” your English needs some work
I might be wrong but im sure the mls use that 2yr cycle of kits plus some of those kits are awesome
Great video guys. I think thee main issue is exactly what you highlighted, too many kits and not enough innovation. It's quantity over quality and it stings consumers the most. More time spent on less shirts would allow for more innovative kits but it seems like these companies solely care about profit.
WTH?!? You guys are the experts but I think the Spurs kit is clean and I love all three of United kits this season
But awesome to get insights from two professional kit designers who know what they are talking about
cheers mate, just spread the word if you can..:)
Man is serious about kits alright and he spitting facts about it
Very well done this!
🙌
Definitely!
Thank you for this, we need to have a two year cycle and get the fans to design the kit, Middlesbrough away kit looks like a rugby kit
Great insight lads, thanks for the great vid
As a Liverpool fan born in '73, I really love the home shirt.I actually couldn't stand last season's shirt, it looked bland and lifeless compared to now with a bold white collar.
The minecraft shirt makes me want to vomit, but the lilac third shirt will definitely get a purchase, that'll look great in bright sunlight, and even better if they sell a player version.
Adidas fan versions kits are getting beyond a joke now with the quality. They are really trying to push you towards them authentic shirts.
@@andrewphippsphillips1455yes crown and candy are the only ones I like
I agree that too many kits get released... teams should use a kit for 2yrs, and the home and away kit should be staggered a year, so both don't change at the same time.
18-19 Spurs is the best recent spurs kit, the one with the fade into the shorts. Still wear it all the time.
That’s why we’re trying to give back to the community & give those designers an opportunity to get in front of the big brands! Let’s create change 🙌
Would love to hear your guys opinions on Arsenal new away shirt
Some big brands push the boat out in terms of creativity with a few European kits and especially the international kits. Japan, ajax. Etc
I’m a City fan and I really like that United away kit
I love the look and details of the Everton kits. It’s a bummer that the execution in reality and qc take it down so much
You guys should check out MLS kits.
It’s really sad to see!
I have multiple French basketball shirts and they are almost totally sublimated. Absolutely smashes the junk that all the football clubs are churning out with crappy plastic sponsors and club badges.
Don’t buy a kit every year. Only buy the ones you love.
Cracking show lads. Love Craig as he says it like it is and hes a Geordie. HWTL
Haha, thanks a lot!
get in there lad! Need a win soon tho:(
Check out the Ipswich shirts from this season and last.
Adidas are still decent in their designs. The Benfica away kit for me is absolutely smashing!
WOW. Finding this channel was a godsend. Amazing Insight and content. My bank balance is in fear of what this channel is going to make me do to it.
