    Been driving this car for over 2 years. It's in my opinion one of the best looking daily hatchbacks. I average 59mpg, some drives in the 60s! Also it's £20 tax for a year

      Mine costs £180 tax for a year.. 2018 1.5L petrol manual. Why is this?

    • @RegensDominor
      @RegensDominor 8 місяців тому

      @@ibrahima1704 it depends on the year it’s made. Each year of the manufactured model is tested for CO2 emissions. The emissions vary which means the tax varies.

    • @elysalcedo
      @elysalcedo 5 місяців тому

      @@ibrahima1704 it’s because every car made from late 2017 onwards has to pay £180 as the standard rate, if the CO2 emissions surpass 100g/km. If they don’t surpass that threshold they have to pay £170, and if it’s electric they don’t have to pay any road tax until April next year apparently.

    I have the 2010 of this car in black, as my 1st car and it's excellent. The 1.3 engine is actually very nippy. Also, looks a lot better than other cars in similar price brackets. You get a good, reliable car for an affordable price. Excellent and well recommended 👍

It failed an MOT last year due to a lamp not working and rear coil spring being fractured but was fixed and passed afterwards. Aside from that, I've had no further issues with the car and has been solid.

    I'm not that young (40) but have owned a 2018 Mazda 2 Sport black plus for two and a half years as a daily. Still not bored driving it. Its more fun than a lot of other stuff I've driven. It looks cool too with standard fit bodykit and ceramic paint. People also miss the fact that it shares the same engine (1.5 skyactiv G) as the MX-5! And being a Mazda nothing has gone wrong. It's a left field choice and I love that.

  • @thatcopenguy
    @thatcopenguy 3 роки тому +7

    I used to drive one of these in my home country, 2015 model but automatic. It's a hell lot of fun to drive and an extremely well rounded car. MPG is unreal if you take the car lightly and better than I've achieved in an Ecoboost Fiesta.
    It's still high on my list for what my next daily car will be.
    Engine is a lot of fun, and I wished Mazda had put a version with the 130hp Miata motor for that extra fun ( & maybe a 15% stiffer suspension ) I've always said the Mazda 2/ MX-5 motor is probably best small engine currently available and it's criminal how nobody has ever talked about them.

    • @thatcopenguy
      @thatcopenguy 3 роки тому +3

      @@irenanikolova1589 I would say yes, it's a really solid car and a non-intimidating one for beginners ( there's enough active safety features to keep you out of trouble )
      A thing to mention, the Mazda is actually the biggest car exterior wise but very much average on the inside in the class. It's never bad, but most of the size is taken by that quite long bonnet for a small car. ( makes the car look really cool )
      And I would probably stay out of the 75hp petrol motor. Nothing wrong with it, just that the 90hp/115hp motor is much more worth it.

    So much better then a downsize 1.nothing 3cylinder lawnmower engine! More reliable, match the fuel consumption more. And more revs means more power! Yes it had not much power and torque at low revs. But drop 1 or 2 gears and floor it. This car loves to revs!

      What tune would you do on it? Is it cheap to tune and what’s the horsepower increase?

    • @2racingUK
      @2racingUK Рік тому +1

      @@levi.k4017 The DJ Mazda 2 shares it's engine with the 1.5 mx5 ND. It's designed to make a reserved 135bhp in the m5 but is electronically limited in the mazda2. A quick remap to remove the limits will take your car to 130bhp.
      Then there's old fashioned tuning such as cams, exhaust, throttle body etc that can be updated for more. Our track focused DJ was producing 159bhp in a naturally aspirated state.
      Videos of it on our channel 👍

      @2racingUK I'm in Australia so would I just take to to somewhere that tunes cars so they can unlock the extra power? Do you know roughly how much a remap would cost?

    • @2racingUK
      @2racingUK Рік тому

      @@levi.k4017 I wouldn't have a clue about cost of mapping down in OZ. Up here UK prices range from £250 for an off the shelf map to £600 for a custom map set written on a Dyno.
      Best advice I can give you as you can't send me your ECU. We'll you could but you wouldn't like the shipping cost is. Google your local tuners put your cars details in and opt for the highest smoothest torque curve.
      I use quantum tuning equipment to do off the self maps for customers. You might find a quantum rep in your area.
      Last but if free advice 😜 the DJ suspension is the same as the DE and fiesta mk7. Much cheaper coilovers when looking at de and fez kits 👍

      You have put this under every video I've watched with mazda and it's not true. I'm in a mazda club with 12000 people in it and nobody has heard of this issue. It's probably just you got unlucky and are a bit bitter about it. That may be why the part is expensive, because it's not a common issue and not a part they keep in stocks meaning importing from Japan. Generally this car is super cheap for parts and has been voted the most reliable car in Thailand, Germany, UK, France, Australia, Japan and several others.
