What an amazing review. In my opinion it's better than CarBuyer and Telegraph Cars. I especially like the little things you add like showing the details in the tail light cluster (which most don't unfortunately - for me light design is important so seeing them lit up is great!) and the head up display. Even your experience testing this is better described. Pot holes, overtaking.. I mean, come on; everyday driving for everyday people. Thank you so much!
I've got mine coming on 26th Aug 16. As it was pre registered I got the SE-L 90 Nav with seat/paint protection, full set of mats plus 2 services for £12,600. As an ADI I wanted a change from 17 years of Clio's & Corsa's. I hope my pupils enjoy it as much as I did on test drive.
Thank you for a very intelligent, focused review. I do like Car Buyer reviews also, but I prefer this more in-depth, laid back approach with more detail and useful analysis. Car reviews should not be about the person presenting but about the car. Well done for following this strategy. Other reviewers please take note.
I was looking at the review as I'm thinking of buying one, but I was very surprised to see Farnham in the video. I used to go to uni there! might just of been the sign to buy it that I was looking for
It's a shame the new 2 never made it to US shores! We have the Scion iA which is heavily based on the Mazda 2 sedan but I'm not interested in the styling. I would much prefer the hatchback. A performance oriented version would be a lot of fun too!
... Friend I just made myself a demo that belonged to VEHICULOS DEL CAMINO (agence in Medellin) ... Gran Touring LX Sedan (red mazda) ... 2020 model with only 4 thousand kms .....! I am happy ! ... and you know that I am fascinated by everything: it also has a CD system ...
Great review! The best one on UA-cam! Amazing what Mazda is putting out lately. The Mazda cars are much better looking than other Japanese brands (like Toyota, boring), they drive better and are cheaper as well.
David van der Zande Thanks David! I think what surprised us the most about the new Mazda2 is the sheer feeling of space inside. I'm 6ft4 and there's plenty of room to get comfortable. The fact it drives well and looks good is just a bonus!
+TestDriven Very good review. Surprising that your barely see any new mazda2 in Ireland. however, plenty of i20 & new yaris ( with the X design)... mazda deserves to sell more of those...
i love this car. i drive one myself actually. the problem is i live in a third-world country and 3rd generation Demio is a more popular option here (actually most people dont even know 4th generation exists) so i gotta be extra careful when driving because it’s kinda difficult to buy the parts here and since our currency value is low, parts can be expensive 😂
What is with those strange little bits of plastic on the rear wheel arches? See them on so many cars these days. Something to do with the the aerodynamics?
Whats up with no spare tire? This summer I hit a screw once, a big spike once and a couple of weeks ago one tire tore apart on the motorway with a 4cm gaping hole in the side. How can I fix that with no spare?
+Hagar Horrible It's a pain, isn't it. Nearly all car manufacturers have done away with spare wheels, and replaced them with repair kits - an electric compressor and a can of 'gunk'. They say it's to save weight and this helps with CO2 emissions. Some cars you can still specify a spare, although it's not always full-size.
+TestDriven It takes less than 5min to change a tire. It takes 1hour to wait for roadhel they have to take the broken tire back to a tireshop and back again. And not very ecofriendly.
+Hagar Horrible The other problem, is the fact that you have to find a tyre shop that's willing to clean all the gunk out of the tyre, from the inflation kit, prior to repair. I've yet to see an inflator kit that'll take care of a serious puncture, like you've described. The Mazda MX-5 has the same inflator kit here in Australia, too... Our Mazda 2 models are sourced from Thailand, and have a space saver spare as standard, like all other model Mazdas here, bar the MX-5.
Mazda 2 is the worst car I have ever owned, too light and handle poorly. not very much paint on them, marks very easily. Awful. The kids feel sick in the back of it. Just pure rubbish.
these cars are so reliable yet underated. one of the best affordable cars out there.

+TDM Wow, thanks for the very kind comments! I'm glad it was useful!
Just bought the new GT Sport Nav+ model today. Have to wait a month for it but can't wait. The test drive model I tried was really nice.
Wow, this is the best Car review I have ever seen and I watch reviews from many different countries such as UK, NZ and Australia. Well done guys!
wish we would get this in the states.....

Really enjoyed this concise to the point review. I reckon Mazda would be happy with it as well.

+Mathew Woodman Ha, it's a small world! If there's anything you'd like to know about the car that we didn't cover in the review, do feel free to ask.

Nice review, thank you.
***** I'm glad you like it, thanks for watching!
TestDriven Do you by any chance know offhand if one can listen to music and use the SatNav simultaneously?
***** Yes, that's no problem, it briefly mutes the music when a voice guidance instruction is given, and then continues as before.
TestDriven That's perfect :-) Have a great day and thanks once again.

pipcannon That's my understanding, yes, but I'll see if I can get a definitive answer for you.
great review thanks!!
+Patrick Webster I'm glad it was helpful, thanks for watching.
I like 2015 Mazda 2 Review - TestDriven

What year?
Why not in India....🤔
i have one very nimble car
but only 6 speed auto in my country
Didnt show the interior???
Huh? Various shots from 1:02 until about 3:14.
Most of the video was of the interior
so much like the seat ibiza
No sunroof option so no sale unfortunately.
Don't tell Mazda that, they'd never recover from it...
Shame it does not come in a 3 door. I do not drive 5 door.
Good for you.
Just ignore the other two doors.
