What was your favourite Disney reference/ easter egg in Wish??
One that I can't believe I missed is that Magnifico ends up becoming the magic mirror... The clues are all there throughout the movie and then at the end he literally gets trapped in the mirror. If you pause at the right moment you see the magic mirrors face as Magnifico gets trapped... I think that's so cool!
I liked The Friends being based on the seven dwarves and Asha becoming the Fairy Godmother.
The Inside Out reference and Magnifico's book reminds me of the book from Hocus Pocus with the sun from Tangled.

1. The Lion King reference of Asha's father.

41:27 I think the lyric is there to emphasize Magnifico's delusion. He separately tells the same thing because he really tries to come with services he thinks he does.
Her friends are indeed representatives of the seven dwarves. And each of their names start with the same letter as the dwarf they represent.

When Magnifico got pulled into the staff you can see the face of the magic mirror for a sec. So I guess he is the slave in the mirror.

Actually, the dwarfs initials correspond to those of Asha's friends, so it's quite easy to see who's who: Doc-Dahlia, Dopey-Dario, Grumpy-Gabo, Bashful-Bazeema, Sneezy-Safi, Sleepy-Simon, Happy-Hal.

Fact: Magnifico is voiced by Chris Pine who also voiced Jack Frost from Rise of The Guardians, an underrated DreamWorks film
The villian is modelled after Chris Pine. Its also his 3rd animated film since Spiderman Into The Spidey Verse and Rise Of The Guardians.
It’s also an interesting reversal because in the former two animated films especially _Rise of the Guardians_ Chris Pine played a heroic character while in Disney’s _Wish_ he’s the villain.
He was also In Disney’s Into the Woods.
For those who dislike the movie we don't care if you guys hate the movie as we love the movie

I loved seeing you two react to Wish, y'all seemed to have so much fun watching the movie and I did too! Originally, I wasn't going to watch the movie, but then I saw the amount of hate it was getting and I just got curious to see why this movie was so bad... but then I watched the movie and I was so confused because I absolutely loved it! I understand if this movie just isn't your thing and there are some flaws with the writing (this movie should've been at least 30 minutes longer to develop the story further), but I don't think this movie deserves all the hate😭 Wish is one of my top three Disney movies along with Tangled and Zootopia!
Again, the story could've been improved a bit more, but I also really enjoy the story we got in the movie. Asha and Magnifico are now two of my favorite characters ever - and I know this might sound ridiculous to some people, but Magnifico is my favorite Disney villain. He's not the best one, but he's my personal favorite. He's actually a more complex villain than people think he is because there are so many reasons why Magnifico could be the way that he is - his tragic past, paranoia, narcissism, having anger problems, not being able to take even the slightest of criticism, being power hungry, and making bad choices (like using dark magic). I think him going to the dark side was teaching a lesson to the audience, to be careful of the actions you make because some actions have consequences that'll last forever (like how he is committed to dark magic forever). It's also interesting how in the beginning, he said that no one should have to see their dreams destroyed before their very eyes - and then proceeds to do that to his people later in the movie. It reminds me a lot of how in real life, there are people who know what it's like to go through pain and suffering, but still decide to put others through the same kind of suffering. It's sad when you really think about it.
Some people think the book turned him evil, but that's not true, it was his narcissism that brought him down the wrong path. Before he uses the dark magic, he's so mad that Asha just made a suggestion that he should give the wishes back that he crushes her mother's wish out of pure spite, which then that starts to cause his downfall because while he already felt that he was entitled to everyone's wishes, he REALLY became addicted to the power that he got when he crushed the wish. Also, I find it interesting how he says that the book of dark magic is there to protect to his kingdom - but then he decides to use the book after singing a song about how awful and disrespecting the people in his kingdom are... So call me crazy, but I don't think turning to dark magic has anything to do with protecting them lol. But aside from all of that, he's also just such a fun and goofy villain at times - which I know some people don't like how how goofy and cartoonish he acts sometimes, but I personally love it! I also love that how he was actually pretty threatening towards the end of the film. I'd personally love a sequel where Magnifico breaks out of the staff and plots his revenge against the kingdom - Yes, the movie just came out last year but I already want a Wish 2! Anyways, this comment is long enough, so even though I can talk about this movie forever, I'm going to stop now. I think I know the big reason why people didn't like it. You see, we get these things like the bulbs.People read them and don't understand that they aren't always accurate.Some of them are just rumors.
And then there's the whole. This movie was trying to go back to sleep. Or you didn't think you just watched. Like when you watch snow white Peter PAN Cinderella jungle book. And then the Renaissance recharged everything here we think when we watch.

Personally, I love this movie.I understand people don't like it because it's simple.And they don't explain too much but it reminds me of super old disney and away.
The way he opened the hole in the floor leading to his evil lair/workspace, it looked like when Elsa made a snowflake on the floor of the ice palace.
I love how “This is the thanks I get” starts with Magnifico singing about how handsome he is
I haven't seen a lot of people realize this, but Magnifico is a narcissist. Narcissists can do nice things, but the reason behind them is different than normal people. A normal person will do something nice to make someone else happy, while a narcissist does something nice because of how it reflects back on them. My mother was (and likely still is) a narcissist. I'd get lots of presents at x-mas, and while I was saying, 'yo, she's abusive', no one believed me because she was "so nice". The presents weren't to be nice, but to make others believe she was nice, to make herself look like a "good mother". Magnifico doesn't do nice things because he cares for his people, he does them so they will honor him and think positively of him. It's manipulation disguised as a good deed.
He won't give back the wishes probably because he feels like that would reflect badly on him, and it would be a loss of control. Giving them back would make his ego feel as though he "failed" in some way.
Any time in this movie, even at the veeeeeeeery beginning, whenever Magnifico is questioned in any little way, his reaction is instantly negative. When Asha points out the wishes will never be granted, Magnifico gets aggressive. When she says to just give them back, he explodes. This is also how a narcissist behaves. They cannot except even the most innocent of criticisms. His immediate reaction is to accuse everyone of not appreciating all that he's done, even though that's not at all what's going on. His narcissistic ego cannot handle anything less than absolute devotion and obedience. To question anything at all about him or how he rules, is to betray him and his reaction is violence.

I felt like someone saw Wicked for the first time, and plugged "Wicked in the style of Disney" into an AI generator and the result was elements of every Disney animated film with low grade graphics and questionably timed songs, picked up off the cutting room floor. I'm reminded of something Andrew Lloyd Webber said about the challenge of musicals being able to convince the audience whether or not it's daft when the characters burst into song. 😂 I like one song though. Over all, remember back when Disney would release straight to video productions to maintain presence in between major motion pictures? This feels very Sunday night Wonderful World of Disney. When watching the movie, Magnifico and Asha sing about the wish was strange because it feels off since this is their first meeting. The weird thing about this was originally made to be a love song. That's why it have these romantic/loving feels.

An older concept that they had for this movie was that Asha was going to be Magnifico's daughter. This could have been a father-daughter song, especially since this reminds so many people about how much they love their children.

I think the reason why the animation looks off is because they're going for the classic 2D animation feel, tho it isn't terrible to the point when I want to jab my eyes out with a knife.
Hand-drawn animation doesn't have motion blur, and they're trying to make it like that in computer animation.

I think this movie was absolutely beautiful. I saw this 3 times in the theaters and have seen it twice since it came to digital. I love Asha, I was totally disagree I think the animation is really cool with mashing 2D and 3D. I also love the callbacks to the originals.
I was waiting for it to come to streaming to react for this video, but now I have I need to find a cinema that's still showing it 😅

@@EdizAndBen I felt that on the big screen, it wasn't as bad. Was weird at the beginning then I got used to it. The music was better in the theaters. I would really recommend if it does hit the theaters again go and see it you will love it. All in all, I loved this movie and gave me Disney chills once again.
The City of Rosas song really reminded me of the Family Madrigal one from Encanto!

See, here's the thing: on its own, this movie is... *fine.* The story and characters are charming enough, and it's a cute waste of time. The problem is that a "cute waste of time" movie is *NOT* something that should be released to celebrate the 100th anniversary of a studio - they should have done something grander and more epic.
Suddenly, the final episode of _The Ghost and Molly McGee_ seems a tad poignant now, doesn't it?

I personally would not call all Disney animated movies up to this point "classics", but maybe that is how they market them.

12:25 It's a shame, because there's definitely *ideas* for songs in this movie (minus the obvious one), but *goshdarnit,* they're just not fleshed out enough. It's like the songwriters were afraid of making their songs sound too similar to songs from the past (e.g. those by, say, the Sherman Brothers or Gilbert & Sullivan), so they tried to discard any passages that sounded even vaguely similar, thus ending up with something bland and Phillip Glass-esque, not unlike a certain holiday-themed school play from a certain _South Park_ episode.
Actually the tree that Asha sees that has her younger self & her dad is actually based off Walt’s wishing tree.

Ok man I did give it the benefit of the doubt but this film is incredibly mid. Songs were eh I like this wish the most. But the lyrics the story in this whole film felt like nothing had meaning Asha literally has no growth or arch.
Literally the new show hazbin hotel has songs 1000 times better than this film unfortunately. Would actually love to see ur guys reaction to the songs to see ur thoughts.
Yes I've had some days to ponder this film and it is lacking in so many ways. Didn't change the fact that I enjoyed it immensely and loved all the Easter eggs and references, but as a stand alone movie... It could have been so much better!!

I cannot get past the fact that the lyric "throw caution to every warning sign" makes ZERO sense. You throw caution to the wind to get rid of the caution. If you throw caution to a warning sign, that means you're being cautious. Which is not what I think the writers intended. HOW did this get past so many people???

I strongly disagree that 2D is not as good as 3D, I challenge anyone to watch a modern anime film like a Silent Voice or Onpiece Film Red and not find it just as beautiful as any 3D film. Anime has been blending the two almost seamlessly for years, it's just not done well here. I feel like it's that they didn't take advantage of 2D and used 3D models, that along with the textures that is throwing it off it seems like they're trying to use hand drawn outlines with just flat 3D textures but nothings really blending the two together. The thing about 3D is the more realistic it is the better it looks but that means it's extremely limited style wise it has to follow the rules of physics to eaven work, and what makes 2D special is it's ability to bend realism, be unique style wise, and still look good. An amazing example of blending done well is the animated movie Klaus it's for the most part all 2D except for the lighting and it creates a film with the life and character of 2D but also looks like it's 3D because it's shaded like it is. Truly fascinating. Sorry for how long this is, I'm an artist and am pretty passionate about it. But you're allowed to like what you like I just wanted to give a little more context to why that might be. Great reaction, y'all kick but.

I was itching to see it, but I feel like people enjoy seeing my first time reaction on here. So I basically held out for this reaction.
I paid £13.99 for my copy though so I'm still supporting the movie ✌️😊
They just threw too many ideas together and it became a clustered mess. They are all great ideas but they aren’t completely following through with any specific idea.
This movie actually depressed me after I saw it.
