No spoilers; I’m an anime only guy but I’ve rewatched Demon Slayer multiple times so here is info to help you remember and process what you saw better: 1) Muzan is over a thousand years old. The current master of the Demon Slayers Corps is 97th leader of the corps. However, he did say at the last episode of the Entertainment District arc that Muzan “was the sole blemish on their family,” which implies that they may be distantly related. 2) Tanjiros’ father’s name is Tanjuro and his mom’s name is Kie (as told in the “My Own Steel” episode). Tanjuro was sickly and was born with a faint square-like scar. He was always shown wearing orange colored haori (coat). He told Tanjiro in the flashback in ep 19 that he’d make sure that the earrings and the Hinokami Kagura would be passed down to him uninterrupted. This implies that he’s not the originator of those things and were passed down the generations. 3) The man who looks like Tanjiro in his dream was named Sumiyoshi and he didn’t have any scars or facial markings. Incidentally, both “tan” and “sumi” mean “charcoal.” Remember that Tanjiro said that he comes from a long line of charcoal producers. 4) The long red-haired swordsman with the hanafuda-like earrings attacking and looming over what looks like a defeated Muzan in Muzan’s and Daki’s (actually Muzan’s cells’) flashbacks had the curvy, fire-like facial markings that extended below one eye. He also had a red sword. His facial appearance matches the face of the man in Tanjiro’s dream. 5) Kokushibo (Upper Moon 1) can’t be Tanjiro’s dad because it’s been 113 years since an Upper Moon was killed by a demon hunter. That means Kokushibo was an Upper Moon for over a hundred years. Tanjiro’s dad died recently. 6) Kokushibo looks like the man in the flashbacks and the dream; however, if you look closely at his face, he has red facial markings rising also up his neck and jaw. Though it’s possible that Kokushibo and the Swordsman in the dream and flashbacks could be the same person with the facial markings changing over time, you also have to wonder why Muzan would change him into a demon and why the Swordsman would want to be a demon. Muzan seemed very triggered by the memory of that Swordsman, yet he doesn’t have any reactions to Kokushibo’s presence. 7) The figure in the end of this episode can’t be Kokushibo because he’s a demon, and he can’t just be hanging around in the sunlight like this (unless he has some special ability the story hasn’t told us yet about). Kokushibo and the mystery swords man have different voice actors, that should indicate they are different persons, also ufotable messed up kokushibo's design as he is supposed to have black hair and not red.

9:23 The fact is, it's anything but normal for them. All the Upper Moons killed many Hashiras, and I mean many MANY Hashiras. It's not for no reason that they haven't been killed for 113 years. Like whe saw it in the previous season, Muzan don't care at all that Akaza killed a Hashira, it was the least that he expected from him, he was even pissed that Akaza only did this (Which means barely nothing from his point of view). And I'll go further by saying that Akaza wasn't even serious in this fight. He got surprised at the end by the Sun and Rengoku holding him (Because he was worried), but that's all. He was trying to recruit him and having fun, not kill him. Rengoku didn't had a single chance to kill Akaza, no matter how much I love this dude.
The funny thing about Mitsuri is that she’s looking for someone stronger than her, but she’s already become so strong that she’s a Hashira. Unless she disregards that requirement, at least, she’ll only have other Hashira to choose from. Other than possibly future Hashira, with how dangerous the job is, the dating pool would likely be constantly shrinking and changing in that regard.
You guys have seen Tanjiro's dad (Tanjuro) before season 1 episode 19. His father doesn't have any facial markings apart from the circle forehead birthmark Tanjiro also had, their timelines are also completely different. The flashback also entails the original sun breather is not blood related to the Kamado family after their talk of breather saving Sumiyoshi (the Kamado family). It also wouldn't make sense for Kokushiibo to be the original breather as their VA is different, clothing is different, and Muzan still has ptsd from fighting the OG, and wants anybody who holds the same earnings to die.
What's ironic for Mitsuri is that she wants to find a husband who is stronger than her, but she herself is so freakishly strong (despite her appearance) that she just couldn't find one (you can see a glimpse of her strength when she was running and Tanjirou tried to stop her but she still effortlessly dragged him with her for a distance despite how strong he is too)
The reason Akaza hates Douma so much is because Douma abuses and only targets women and Akaza is the complete opposite of him! Akaza even has special permission from Muzan that allows him to not kill women!

NOT SPOILER!!!!! Upper One Kokushibo is NOT Tanjiro's Dad. Tanjiro's Dad's name was Tanjuro. They showed it in season 1. We all saw Tanjuro's face in the flashback back in season 1. And remember what Upper Four, Hantengu said, the Upper moons haven't changed in the last 113 years. Also in Tanjiro's dream, the man who looks identical to Tanjiro is Sumiyoshi Kamado, an ancestor of Tanjiro many centuries ago. Kamado family (Tanjiro's) has always been a charcoal seller. The first Sun breather who Muzan feared so much and the Kamado family are different.
Facts. It just shows that he's on a higher level. Muzan is the President, but Upper one is the VP for sure. Nobody else even knew he was there, and only Upper One knew that Muzan had arrived

I like that very subtle hint of how terrifyingly fast the top dogs are when they're in the Infinity Castle. Like we actually keep getting reminded of how fast Muzan is because the biwa never made a sound when he reaches for someone. Muzan at this prime, moves instantaniously and no one - not even any of the Hashira could wish to be able to keep up with him.
Despite his easy going personality and friendly looking face, Doma the upper two is the most evil demon out there, none so far has ever been as evil as him. He has no place even in hell.
How would they be brothers though, Muzan is around a 1000 years old and Tanjiro's dad, Tanjuro was spoken about and shown before this several times, he was a frail and sickly man, who Tanjiro saw die when he was a child, come on
You know, I wish they would have stated the period the flashbacks were set in. People may not know what year they are, but most usually know there is a big gap between them. It would hhave helped nullify the confusion around Sumiyoshi and Yorrichi.

First season, i think episode 5 or 6 tanjiro says he is son of TANJURO. The guy in the dream is "sumiyoshi". The dream young guy have the same face of tanjiro, so we can reach some conclusions, but tanjiro's father he is not.

go back and watch Tanjiro's dream/flashback and pay close attention to the dialog. the man in the green/black checkerboard outfit who appears to be Tanjiro speaks of a wife who just gave birth and he is holding his child. the other man with the earrings is a guest of theirs who does not have children, so there is no blood relation between them

The Kakushi don't know where it is either. That one that dropped off Tanjiro probably knows a short path to the village entrance, but doesn't know the entire route to get to that spot. I guess that wasn't clear.

The whole point of the dreaming scene before tanjiro wakes up is to directly tell to the viewer that the long hair guy that tanjiro saw in his visions is not only not his dad but also not even blood related to him… also his dad is called tanjuro it was mentioned in the 1st season so the guy he saw in his dream that had his haori (green with black squares) is his grandpa or great grandpa or even further down…

Here is the theory my friend and I came up with: When I first brought up this point to my friend he said “I’ll tell you why” while looking at me like this 😏😏. I laughed immediately cuz I knew where this was going. he said “ the great grandma is ho,she saw that sun breathing dance and was like I want that sun breathing dick”. So she had one kid from yoriichi and another from her husband. Now, considering this was like 400 years ago,marriage with your cousin or 2nd cousin was normal, so these 2 kids had kids, and their kids married each other,producing a baby with both yoriichi genes and the grandfather (forgot his name). That baby’s descendants could either look like the grandfather or yoriichi .we get to tanjiro’s dad, which evidently it seems that yoriichi’s genes were the dominant ones there,but he still has the great grandfather genes,so tanjiro came out and it seems great grandfather genes were dominant so he looks like him. But the thing is it is more evident when you read it. If you are just watching it then each scene cuts through very fast and also they are uploading it in UA-cam channel so talking in between is mandatory for some reason.
They aren't actually flexing the budget in the initial scene- 1. That is the infinite castle where Muzan is hiding, and that's the reason for so many centuries Hashiras aren't able to find him. 2. That castle will play a huge role in Upcoming biggest fights, so you should pay attention to the location they showed.
Yoriichi (red kimono person in dream) was friends with Tanjiro's ancestors he and upper one are not related to Tanjiro in any way. But they are related to one of the current hashira's, but I will let you guys figure that out.😊
the tiny bits you miss on a first watch, they didn't need to keep animating the stroking gesture Mitsuri does to Nezuko as it doesn't 'add' anything to the scene, but it makes it more real as that's what you would do unconsciously when hugging a younger sibling, you would do that.

not his father. the guy u saw that looks like tanjiro and is holding the baby is Tanjiros great great great great whatever grandpa. this setting takes place 300 years prior to Taisho era (1912-1926) which is the time frame Tanjiro is in the demon corps. 300 years prior to Taisho era is Sengoku Period (1447 - 1573) or also known as the second half of the Muromachi Era (1336-1573). Yoriichi, the skilled swordsman you see next to him that Tanjiro keeps seeing in his dreams, is not related to Tanjiro at all by blood, however, he is more like a close mentor/family friend to Tanjiro's ancestors. Yoriichi is the father of the Sun Breathing Technique which is the source for all breathing techniques. he taught Tanjiros ancestors how to master the sun breathing techniques, which is why you see Tanjiro's father who was sick and all, dancing around doing the sun dance. Hinokami Kagura. The earrings of Yoriichi was passed down to his student and thus, down the generations in Tanjiros line. Kukoshibu or whatever his name is, the dude that looks like Yoriichi, the upper rank 1 demon we saw, with 6 eyes, is Yoriichis twin brother, who went left and evil, whom also developed the Moon breathing technique. he was never able to defeat his brother Yoriichi in duals or battle. You will come to that eventually in the final arcs so i wont spoil anything for you.

It has been 113 years since the upper ranks have been aligned. If upper one is TANJIRO's father, does that mean TANJIRO was born when his father was about 100 years old? LOL. By the way, most upper ranks have existed for hundreds of years.

This is not a spoiler but observation. Tanjiro dad had a yellow and black squares kimono and while Kokushibo (Upper moon 1) has purple and a unique design. I believe that the next episode will talk more about them but that's the observation that I have. Also I don't believe Kokushibo is related to Tanjiro because like Muzan said it's been 113 years since one of the Upper Moons got killed and no human can survive that long. They may have the same hair and the scars but I don't think they are related by blood. Also one more observation/thought. I believe tanjiro had a dream about the past of those people with one of the guy has Yellow-ish kimono and red and the guy with the green and black squares kimon his name is (Sumiyoshi). I think the guy (Sumiyoshi) that is holding the baby I believe the baby is tanjiro dad and maybe when tanjiro dad got his own kids he pass down the green and black cloak and the earrings to tanjiro. I hope it doesn't confuse you guys but that's my thought and observation.

My favorite Hashiras are Sanemi , Gyomei and Obanai And the strongest are Gyomei Sanemi Giyu Muichiro Obanai Mitsuri Rengoku Tengen Shinobou Pov : number 3 ,4,5 are interchangeable but 1 and 2 spots are absolutely secured

Douma saying he became demon after akaza but was promoted before him doesn't mean akaza is weaker than douma. Spoiler Alerrt! Actually akaza doesn't eat women due to his past love but douma you can say only eat women. The fact that women bodies are nutritious than men coz they carry babies so akaza doesn't eat women and eat men but still being at upper 3 rank is admirable on the opposite hand douma eat only women so it's obvious his growth will be much more than akaza even muzan and kokushibo know this as kokusbo after bloodbattle with akaza said he have potential to become upper 1. If akaza started to eat women then he can easily surpass douma and become upper 2 but idk about if he can beat kokushibo or not.

9:23 The fact is, it's anything but normal for them. All the Upper Moons killed many Hashiras, and I mean many MANY Hashiras. It's not for no reason that they haven't been killed for 113 years.
Like whe saw it in the previous season, Muzan don't care at all that Akaza killed a Hashira, it was the least that he expected from him, he was even pissed that Akaza only did this (Which means barely nothing from his point of view).
And I'll go further by saying that Akaza wasn't even serious in this fight. He got surprised at the end by the Sun and Rengoku holding him (Because he was worried), but that's all. He was trying to recruit him and having fun, not kill him. Rengoku didn't had a single chance to kill Akaza, no matter how much I love this dude.
Muzan *(Moo·zan)* hates degradation, decay, wants things to be infinite, everlasting and not changing at all.
The funny thing about Mitsuri is that she’s looking for someone stronger than her, but she’s already become so strong that she’s a Hashira. Unless she disregards that requirement, at least, she’ll only have other Hashira to choose from. You guys have seen Tanjiro's dad (Tanjuro) before season 1 episode 19. His father doesn't have any facial markings apart from the circle forehead birthmark Tanjiro also had, their timelines are also completely different. The flashback also entails the original sun breather is not blood related to the Kamado family after their talk of breather saving Sumiyoshi (the Kamado family). It also wouldn't make sense for Kokushiibo to be the original breather as their VA is different, clothing is different, and Muzan still has ptsd from fighting the OG, and wants anybody who holds the same earnings to die.
What's ironic for Mitsuri is that she wants to find a husband who is stronger than her, but she herself is so freakishly strong (despite her appearance) that she just couldn't find one
(you can see a glimpse of her strength when she was running and Tanjirou tried to stop her but she still effortlessly dragged him with her for a distance despite how strong he is too)

The whole point of the dreaming scene before tanjiro wakes up is to directly tell to the viewer that the long hair guy that tanjiro saw in his visions is not only not his dad but also not even blood related to him… also his dad is called tanjuro it was mentioned in the 1st season so the guy he saw in his dream that had his haori (green with black squares) is his grandpa or great grandpa or even further down…

When I first brought up this point to my friend he said “I’ll tell you why” while looking at me like this 😏😏. I laughed immediately cuz I knew where this was going. he said “ the great grandma is ho,she saw that sun breathing dance and was like I want that sun breathing dick”. So she had one kid from yoriichi and another from her husband. Now, considering this was like 400 years ago,marriage with your cousin or 2nd cousin was normal, so these 2 kids had kids, and their kids married each other,producing a baby with both yoriichi genes and the grandfather (forgot his name). That baby’s descendants could either look like the grandfather or yoriichi .we get to tanjiro’s dad, which evidently it seems that yoriichi’s genes were the dominant ones there,but he still has the great grandfather genes,so tanjiro came out and it seems great grandfather genes were dominant so he looks like him.

1. That is the infinite castle where Muzan is hiding, and that's the reason for so many centuries Hashiras aren't able to find him.

all I gotta say is pay attention to the hair pattern that’s all u need to do when u see the Goats
not his father. the guy u saw that looks like tanjiro and is holding the baby is Tanjiros great great great great whatever grandpa. this setting takes place 300 years prior to Taisho era (1912-1926) which is the time frame Tanjiro is in the demon corps. 300 years prior to Taisho era is Sengoku Period (1447 - 1573) or also known as the second half of the Muromachi Era (1336-1573). Yoriichi, the skilled swordsman you see next to him that Tanjiro keeps seeing in his dreams, is not related to Tanjiro at all by blood, however, he is more like a close mentor/family friend to Tanjiro's ancestors. Yoriichi is the father of the Sun Breathing Technique which is the source for all breathing techniques. he taught Tanjiros ancestors how to master the sun breathing techniques, which is why you see Tanjiro's father who was sick and all, dancing around doing the sun dance. Hinokami Kagura. The earrings of Yoriichi was passed down to his student and thus, down the generations in Tanjiros line. Kukoshibu or whatever his name is, the dude that looks like Yoriichi, the upper rank 1 demon we saw, with 6 eyes, is Yoriichis twin brother, who went left and evil, whom also developed the Moon breathing technique. he was never able to defeat his brother Yoriichi in duals or battle. You will come to that eventually in the final arcs so i wont spoil anything for you.

This is not a spoiler but observation. Tanjiro dad had a yellow and black squares kimono and while Kokushibo (Upper moon 1) has purple and a unique design. I believe that the next episode will talk more about them but that's the observation that I have. Also I don't believe Kokushibo is related to Tanjiro because like Muzan said it's been 113 years since one of the Upper Moons got killed and no human can survive that long. They may have the same hair and the scars but I don't think they are related by blood. Also one more observation/thought. I believe tanjiro had a dream about the past of those people with one of the guy has Yellow-ish kimono and red and the guy with the green and black squares kimon his name is (Sumiyoshi). I think the guy (Sumiyoshi) that is holding the baby I believe the baby is tanjiro dad and maybe when tanjiro dad got his own kids he pass down the green and black cloak and the earrings to tanjiro. I hope it doesn't confuse you guys but that's my thought and observation.
Upper moon one and The mysterious sword man are not same person they might probably be related or from same clan, but I'm sure they are not same person and demons can stay under sunlight even muzan can't, so that person we saw at the end might be someone from same clan too or family linage
