  • After much research, I home in on a location I’ve been wanting to check out for a while. I’m a rookie prospector and been trying new locations around Scotland for months with no success, my luck has finally changed!
    I found my first spec of gold though the prospecting technique known sniping, it’s only a spec however marks a milestone in my journey.
    I’m bless to live in such a beautiful country and gold fever is taking me to many places I wouldn’t normally of ventured too.
    I’d like to thank Graeme from “Aberdeen Drysuit Services” for repairing my suit. If you’re local to North-East of Scotland I’d recommend him.

      Thanks Daz, not gonna lie, gold fever has hit hard. I know more often than not I’ll come home empty handed however sniping has brought me to some beautiful off path locations.

      Yes, when I started, I did not have a clue and doubted whether it was actually out there. That first spec of gold you see with your own eyes is something very special. It definitely takes you on a journey my friend. Hopefully the waters will warm up soon and it will be a more pleasurable experience.

      @@MrDazP1adv3ntures i think it’s the untold story of prospecting, it took me 6 months until this video to find gold. Totally self taught through watching yourself and other UA-camrs. I could’ve even been doing the right thing just in the wrong location. I totally understand why most people keep locations to themselves as I tried about 30 before find one with gold. I’m just glad I continued to film and capture my journey.

    Your Duglas Furr trees looks like the central plateau of the North Island of NZ.
    If one didn't know any better one might think your river is the Rangitike one of many mountain streams that flows from Naturel Parks all the way to the East Coast Sea.
    Can't say it has gold but it sure as hell has rainbow trout in the water, wild pigs and deer on both sides.
    Fantastic place for a fly camp mate, I could stay there till the next snow falls :) What your walking out...
    At least now there are goodies in that there streams.
    Thanks for sharing from NZ.

      Thanks Richard. I’ve never been to NZ however one day I’d like to snipe there too! Scotland has a lot of beautiful mountains, waterfalls and wild camping spots. I’m still to do a camping/sniping adventure which means I could spend more time away.
      Thank you for your support and watching my video.

    Lots of moss and root tangles there, wonder if there's much clay? I don't know how recent floods have been but might be worth checking. Of course those deep cracks just keep working over ages.

    • @NuggetNinjaAdventures
      @NuggetNinjaAdventures  12 днів тому

      Not to much clay in this area, however a good mix of gravels and some mineralised quartz. I’m still new to sniping so just trying to get as much experience as I can whilst it’s summer.

    A simple thin latex glove holds in alot of heat, top that with neoprene and a textured latex glove.

    • @NuggetNinjaAdventures
      @NuggetNinjaAdventures  12 днів тому

      Thanks Dana, I’ve recently started using black latex gloves along with proper hard wearing gloves over the top. The neoprene ones are warm but soon as you get a hole in them it gets pretty cold.

      Yeah I think it’s Rainards as it’s hereditary and white finger is caused by hand arm vibration. Don’t prospect on Australia?

      Stoked for you mate it’s so cool seeing the countryside over there those pines are plantation or native and grow quite uniform like that? That for me was as exciting as any big gold haul takes me back to my early days when everything was still such an adventure you’ve got me keen to get out again 👍🏼 congrats on that first piece man well earned

      @@officialtassieboysprospecting thank you Levi, I think the pine trees are cash crops. Most likely planted to be cut down in 40 years or so. It’s a great milestone for me and a day I won’t forget, it’s not about the quantity but the confirmation that the research I’m doing is leading me to area where there could be gold. I’m persistent and hopefully I can double my specs in the next video 😅

      @@squamishfish in Scotland there are no trespassing laws. However it’s a grey area for prospecting, you’d need to adhere to SEPA regulations, plus any gold found in uk technically belongs to the king. However I’m a hobbiest not a miner.
