- This is my 1 gen 1995 Dodge Viper RT10. This is a POV driving video so people can get an idea what it’s like to drive. The exhaust is factory besides the catalytic converters removed (soon it will be muffler deleted as well). Just a boring raw video recorded on a INSTA360 GO 2 attached to a hat.

Love the car. Have a soft spot for them 1st gen vipers. Its one of those cars people look at and be like "what is that?" Especially the rt10
I would be lying if I said I prefer the RT10 over the GTS, I just didn’t have (and still don’t have) the money to afford a GTS.. but I think the RT10s have a super special look at to themselves. When I was 8 I first saw the 1st Gen vipers and fell in love. Technically the Gen 2s are “better” cars, little more power, better suspension, etc.. but I feel in love with side pipes and went with the 1st. Yellow also was far from my first choice, but for the price I got it for with 17k miles, I didn’t want to pass it up. Thanks for the comment!
@@88e303stanggt Glad you like the car man. A viper is my dream car no matter the generation. 1st gens are just my favorite like you say the GTS is where its at. I wish I could afford a gts as well. Prices just steadily going up
@@88e303stanggt you made the right choice, gen2s are highly overrated. You've got the cooler exhaust, sude pipes are badass, and silly window regulators to worry about.
I actually prefer the RT/10 over the GTS.

I own it's brother. That color is my personal favorite on the gen 1's. Pops and draws attention like crazy.
Can't complain about the lawnmowers when you live in an area as nice as that. And own a Viper.

i know this thing is a death trap and the slightest loss of attention would probably result in a crash and also the fuel economy is probs crap to. But who cares! Its cool and i want to have one one day!

What's the deal with the priming thing?
Thanks!! It’s an issue with holding fuel pressure in the lines after the fuel pump primes it. Priming it a few times temporarily half-way pressurized it. Technically, If I didn’t prime it, it would take about eight seconds to start.
As far as I can tell, prices are still going up but not as much as they did over the last 2.5 years or so. I’m sure it’s partially inflated on purpose buy owners, but I have seen more than usual car articles about vipers that seem to have some bearing on prices after enough of them after awhile.
I have this exact color, year and removed my cat as well. My interior is the cream brown interior color.
The biggest difference between yours and mine is I have a 3.73 rear end gear. My first goes only to like 33mph. So the acceleration is incredibly strong.
I can go from first to 6th easy. 😅

What rear view camera system do you have installed there? Easy to do?
It’s a VanTop or VanToop. 4k front camera 2.5k rear. I didn’t want to drill any holes so I used doublesides 3M tape to adhere to rest rollback and just ran the cords through the window and then ran the front camera through the dash and turned off/on by unplugging the cigarette lighter plug. I loved having a full time color obstruction free rear camera. The screen fits right over the preexisting mirror with straps. I believe it was like $140 on Amazon. The best part to was to remove/reinstall …, only took a few minutes since nothing was drilled, tapped or hardwired in

Any drone with that exhaust setup?
I’ll be honest it’s hard to say since I never drive with the roof or windows, but the resonance with the engine lends itself to a bit of drone just from the tone of the exhaust. It’s definitely not that bad though, but I’m planning on taking off the mufflers too.
One more plus, though, is that the side sills are FAR less hot without the restrict cats on there and there was a noticed improvement in throttle respond and engine revs.

I’d say you’re right on with 30% louder, it gives it a bit more of a growl than the normal “whoosh” sound. I think it’s the perfect combination of sound and volume. I love the RT but I’m my OPINION they are hard to make sound good but this helps a lot.

@@l042987 mine just smells a tad more exhaust-y but far from bad. I’m super happy with the let up now, but I also don’t have smog testing or anything. I’d try cat delete first, then order hi-flows if you think you need to. I’m actually considering some dynomax bullets in stead of the mufflers, but might regret that one lol
@@88e303stanggt alright im off tomorrow gonna swing by local exhaust shop see if they can do it for me.. I'm in Texas there's no rules here on cats I was more worried about smell mostly or drone..
Thinking about getting on 08 viper for a daily.
An 08 would make an infinitely better daily than mine lol. They are comfy, ride good, AC is solid and reliable. 08 would be perfect
@@88e303stanggt right now my daily is a hellcat with FBO and 91 tune lol. I don’t want a boring daily so those vipers have always caught my eye. I was just worried a lil about reliability. I have my eye on a 08 with 13k miles for $90k.
@@6.2_zeus I wouldn’t worry about reliability… the SRT10 Rams OFTEN have well over 100k miles with the same engine, many with 125/150k and up; and their trans are less reliable. If I could have afforded a 08+ I definitely would have. Mine has AC and rides good but without roll-up windows, makes it a lot harder to daily. I drive it every chance I can get, it just hit 21k miles about a month ago.

I don't own a viper nor have I driven one but I would think with electric fuel pumps you could just let it sit for a couple seconds to prime it
It's funny you say that I always let my ss click 5 times after turning the key before I start it. Wonder why so many people just jump in and hit it. 🤔
@@DeathbeforeSumo they don't care or think to take care of their vehicles like that. But I'm just saying that with an electric pump, 99% of the time when they quit running they are primed because they are detecting that pressure of a primed system on the pump. My 1999 Dodge Dakota does just that with the original fuel pump, if I let all the pressure out it will prime for a few seconds but when it's primed and I turn the key and the fuel hasn't bled down it primes for about 2 seconds and stops. Starts right up Everytime though, doesn't even turn as much as this viper did. Could be that the fuel pump on the viper is barely putting out enough pressure but from that start it sounds like it's either on it's way out or the filters getting clogged.
How could anyone possibly bash on this car and say its not tough😂 they just cant drive if they do or they wrecked one 😢

You are semi correct … the pump is new and ok, but I do still need a check valve to make the car prefect.

Lol true but not a single person buys an old Viper for interior fit and finish. It was thrown to together from the factory as an after thought. I have other cars for their nice interiors, the Viper is just for driving and enjoying it.

Moat uninspiring sound from a car ever, sounds like a blubbering boat tbh.
There’s no denying the sound isn’t for everyone, including me. I wish they put a V8 in them from the factory. If this engine grenades, I’d love to put in at least an LS, but a 392/Hellcat would be cool to keep it Dodge power-plant.
Super fun to drive despite the way the exhaust sounds. You can’t even put an X-pipe on the side-pipe models based on the location of the engine/headers. An X (or H even) would do the engine some good by connecting both sides a little.
