Well, to be honest, once I removed it and took off the valve, I hosed it out with water and set it in the sun to dry thoroughly. I did spray some carb cleaner to get to stubborn stains.
@@DrivingIntelligence thank you. My ZR7 set for 10 years with gas tank 1/2 full. The corrosion in the upper half of the tank looks grey (not like the typical rust color).
@@michelgensini3985 I would get rid of the gas safely and then remove the tank for a thorough cleaning. If no rust, you should be good, but you'll need to get that grey stuff off and make sure your fuel valve is very clean. Another tip, drain the fuel bowls on the carb if there is any fuel remaining, and spray some carb cleaner up into the screws of the fuel bowl.
@@DrivingIntelligence thank you. I removed the 4 carburetors, disassembled them, cleaned all the parts individually, including sonicating some. I also disassembled the gas tank. My question is: how to remove the grey stuff in the tank? Thanks.

Tears of joy my friend thank you
Run any different from your last start-up? Could you tell? We've got lots of leaks to take care of.
How did you clean the gas tank?

Does it wipe off by hand?
