Here to kinda give a tip. This doesn't work for me, but i found what works though. You just have to go to settings, then system, then click sound option. In the output tab if its on speakers thats the problem as the sound is only going to work on the speaker, now click the headphones and that should work now. Not sure if this helps for some laptop but it worked for me.

Wish it was that simple. That setting has an "x" / mute by the speaker icon and a level of 0 on mine. Can move the slider and hear sound, but as soon as I release it slides back to 0.

For those that didn't work, you should find a video on resetting or refactoring your Sony Headphone. My problem is regarding the device recognition problem. If your first connection is your phone then you want to connect to your pc, the Sony Headphone will try to keep connecting to your phone device. So, you can turn off the Bluetooth setting on your phone, then find a reset and refactoring tutorial video based on your headphone type. If no problem, you should be able to use your pc Bluetooth to connect your headphones now.

I’d suggest opening up the headphones and put in a female 3.5mm jack in the hole the cable comes out of. Then just order you a nice cable with male 3.5mm jack on both ends. Did this to my ath-ad700s and just plug a v-moda boompro mic in for gaming.

You have to push the jack into the aux sort of forcefully 🎧make sure it is the correct outlet, there could be damage to your actually cord, in that case you'd have to repair it by wrapping the exposed area with electrical tape or simply replace

THANK GOD so pretty much followed these steps but i went to hp and downloaded a new driver for my realtek audio devices and when you go to sound,video and game controllers i chose browse computer and selected the files i downloaded from hp and it worked yayyyyyyy

Try Repairing Windows
Search cmd then run as admin and execute the following 3 commands one by one-
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Restart.
Once Done Trying Running System File Checker SFC Scan
sfc /scannow
Restart.
Windows Updates-
Install all the latest Updates and then Restart the PC.

Hey, I just got a solution.
1. go to sound settings .
2. choose your output device . (try to change it.)
(if not )
3. Manage sound devices , then disable that goddam option . (in my case, it was Fx sound speaker.)
then try out other options; most probably your problem will be solved.
