- Retreatment in endodontics demands the disinfection of infected root canals. A major step that needs to be performed is removal of gutta-percha from the root canals. This removal often becomes a tedious ands frustrating task. There are even iatrogenic complications that occur during its removal.

Well, that's a tricky situation. I had seen a video by @yoshiterauchi where he had removed an extruded gp with an xp shaper. I still have to try the same.

Gentle watch winding motion with a delicate k or h file will help. Also irrigate well !

@@jajaabsin9057 Chloroform 2-3 drops into the canal .....Wait 4 -5 mins the gutta perture will be softened and much easier to remove with a Rotary and or a Hedstrum hand file ....GO SLOW and Irrigate with copious NaOCL

Sir, which Endomotor should I use where rpm speed can be increased upto 1000 rpm ? Because sir my Endomotor's maximum rpm( Coltene company) is 500rpm.

Hello sir. How to remove the sealer which is hardened which is extruding out of the apex .no matter how much I precurve the file and try to remove the sealer of GP left in apical third extruding out of apex ..it's not coming out .. it eventually led to transportation of canal apical opening .how to deal such canal.kindly guide
Follow the protocol as shown in the video. You will never have an trouble while removing GP
Sir am undergoing re RCT treatment, there is a little gutta percha remaining at the end, doc tried all possible ways but couldn't remove. Would it be harmful for me? Any dentists please help me with answers 🙏
hey! dentist here. are you getting crown? if you are then the remaining gutta percha is meant to be there as they should add post and core to the tooth

In case of removing gp in 11 with H files without using solvents - I accidentally pushed the gp beyond the apex
And i am unable to remove that part of gp which went beyond the apex
The patient complaints of tenderness to percussion
Is there any way to remove gp which went beyond apex sir

Can I use this retreatment files for removal of 2/3 root canal filled with gutta percha for post space prep or they can pull all the gutta percha from the root canal and make the endodontic fail ?
for post space preparation I would recommend you use peeso drills

What activator are you mentioning? I have Carl Zeiss. Do shaper comes in on size only

Endosonic and rendo files are manufactured by Poldent (Endostar). its a Poland company.
XP shaper is manufactured by FKG

What you are asking can only be assessed after a dentist checks it. Kindly visit any dentist for proper treatment

any kind of flare up is due to over instrumentation. try to take the working length multiple times while removing gp so that you do not extrude anything

ledges are a common occurrence in root canals. a simple thing to follow is that never force a file in case you get stuck. if your file is advancing analyse the situation and work accordingly

After removing gp with your method, are we suppose to do BMP subsequently or the BMP is not required and we have to do obturation directly?
Cleaning nd shaping you have to do...as their is failure of obturation

roots infected, it's better to extract the tooth before the infection leaks into blood stream.

Yes. Since we are dealing with bonding for most of the procedures, having a residue will compromise the strength

I used twice(two cases) new, out of the box fkg xp finisher 1000rpm and it broke, does it happen to you or how frequent? How many times do you use the xp finisher? What can I change to avoid breaking xp endo finisher. Thanks for your tips! Great video.
