  • Julia Haart is the star of Netflix’s “My Unorthodox Life” and CEO of Elite World Group. She is also the former Creative Director of La Perla and has her own fashion brand. While life is undeniably good for Julia presently, she once was a member of an ultra-Orthodox Jewish community before deciding to leave her old life behind. I’m religious and I don’t feel even close to what she felt! It’s sad that because of her specific experience she includes the whole community… there’s so many women who are successful, clothes brands, photographers, makeup artists and the list doesn’t end!
Wish her the best and that she’ll find her peace🙏🏻

I was born secular and have found my true happiness in being an Orthodox Jew and I wear this crown for about 30 years. Trust me... if I experienced anything close to what she is exaggerating, I would have second thoughts in staying religious. Being Orthodox is the happiest move I have ever made !!! It brings the family together in such a pure way, kindness and charity to others is a huge focus, and respecting mom / dad, and being honesty and truthful. You become a better person by choice and that's a wonderful feeling. About the divorce, I have a close friend who lives in one of the most religious town in Israel who filed for divorce in Beit Din (Jewish Court) and she didn't ask him for his permission. Just to set the record straight, if a man wishes to divorce and the woman does not agree, she can, by Jewish law deny him this right. So it goes both ways. STOP LYING JULIA HAART !!! There are millions of Orthodox Jews in the world not because we are trapped, WE CHOOSE TO LIVE THIS WAY !!!! If you choose your new life to be a certain way, fine for you, but stop lying and exaggerating about the way we live - YOU ARE MAKING A BIG CHILUL HASHEM !!!! and for what???? MONEY AND FAME ??? You better sit down with yourself and re-think this .... you know the consequences of chilul H' !!!!!!!!

Just because you didn’t have this experience does not make hers invalid. That is her truth, if you feel threatened by her life experience so be it. There are different strands of Orthodox groups and what she is describing is true for many in that group.

In Orthodox religion there are laws and that don’t change with different people or marriage, law is a law, if you drive a car you past the red light you broke the law that don’t change, so how could two different stores come out of the same religion? Yours and hers?

Julia Haart is a woman who was born in Russia in 1970 to Mikhail and Lina Leibov. Her name at birth was Natalia Leibov.
Soon after, she immigrated with her parents to the United States. Her parents would go on to have eventually 7 more children.
About 1980, her parents embraced Orthodox Judaism and sent her to an Orthodox Jewish school. Her father became a wealthy businessman and she grew up in a million dollar McMansion at 11 Golar Drive, Monsey, New York.
In 1989, Julia married Yosef Hendler, age 24, an Orthodox young man whom she had known only briefly. They had four children: Batsheva 1993, Shlomo 1996, Miriam 2000, and Aron 2006. Batsheva is divorced without children and the other children are single. All except Aron have left Orthodoxy.
In 2013, Julia left her husband and left Judaism. She apparently left the marriage with some significant financial assets, which she says came from her income as a teacher and insurance salesperson. I would assume that she also received a share of the marital assets and child support as part of a divorce settlement. With that money, she produced demonstration pairs of shoes which she had designed and tried to sell the design to shoe manufacturers.
In 2015, she and her shoes were noticed by a billionaire Italian businessman, Silvio Scaglia. Scaglia was at the time 57 years old and married with three children. Haart was 45. Scaglia was so impressed with Haart that in 2016 he made her creative director of La Perla, a luxury lingerie company which he had purchased in 2013 for 69 million euros, allowing her to effectively run the company.
In 2017 Scaglia publicly announced that he intended to divorce his wife, Monica Aschei. The divorce was finalized in 2018.
In 2011 Scaglia acquired Elite World Group, the world’s largest model management network. In April 2019, Scaglia made Haart the CEO, creative director and co-owner of Elite World Group. In June 2019 Scaglia and Haart married.
In February 2020, Netflix filmed a 9 episode miniseries starring Haart. It went online in July 2021 titled “My Unorthodox Life”. In September 2021 Netflix announced that “My Unorthodox Life” was renewed for a second season.
In July 2021, Haart announced the upcoming publication of her memoir “Brazen: My Unorthodox Journey from Long Sleeves to Lingerie” scheduled for release in April 2022 by Penguin Random House.
In August 2021, Haart’s net worth was estimated at approximately US$600 million.
On December 14, 2021 the UK Daily Mail wrote that Haart and Scaglia had separated. The couple have not commented on this.
It would appear that Haart was an attractive, middle class, middle aged divorcee who has slept her way to the top and is now a vehement anti-Orthodox Judaism version of Kim Kardashian.

And when ever a religious jewish woman says that this is not true she denies.because it's almost impossible to leave, the point where you start realizing that the system is problematic is when you get married, and very quick you have children..

A woman that age should NOT be dressing like some 20-something year old pole dancer. And those shoes? Women who dress age inappropriate are inside insecure; they seek out the attention from as many men who would look at her.
I am 49 and look 35 due to good genes and taking care of my skin and body. I am a size 4 in pants and a 38C. My body is no way unattractive and never had a man tell me to lose weight. I believe a woman should only show her body off like that is when she is with her boyfriend/husband. Not for every tom, di*k and harry to gauke at. I personally don't want some gross, nasty looking man having sexual thoughts with my body.

Men are gonna have sexual thoughts. No matter what women wear-maybe even burkas, which I wouldn’t recommend. Most men will have sexual thoughts about any women whom they find at all attractive. As long as men control their own BEHAVIOR, there’s no problem.

I don’t even dress like Julia and I’m 25 years old. I don’t have to cover myself from head to toe, but I want to be modest enough to not have random men prey on me. Modesty for me means: blue jeans, t shirts/tops that aren’t too tight, low-cut or provocative, longer skirts (midi, knee length, etc), dresses that are midi, knee length, etc. (Not strapless or spaghetti strap, or mini dresses), leggings, tunics, etc. I don’t believe in selling my body, because I’m smarter than that, and I don’t want to reexperience what I’ve experienced in high school. Modesty is a personal thing and for me it means personal security.
