Mice love peanut butter. Clean all food out of camper when not in use. And keep all of your cabinets open they tend to stay away from lite areas. Or maybe some led light under the cabinets. Love the content guys. Great job 😊
Can that dog get any sweeter? 😍
He’s the best!
When it's dark out, have all the lights off and one of you be inside with a big flash light shine all over the floor, under the cabinets. The other be under the camper and check for light. That is how we found how they were getting in our previous rig. Keep all food items in upper cabinets. Good luck!
Good idea with the light!
Have a few cans of spray foam with you and fill foam in areas that you see light.
Peanut butter my friends. Mice LOVE peanut butter.
Minnesota is a very beautiful place 😊😊😮😮🎉🎉❤❤.
It sure is!
What? No mouse updates after the ‘air fresheners’? 🎉
So far so good!
I would be checking outside to see how they are getting in and try to seal them up.
Oh man, bummer to the first pies!😂
Bettys were better!
The hike looked awesome . The views beautiful!!! Thank you. Barkley is beautiful!
Thank you!
Takes time to iron out the kinks . . Bacon works real good in the mouse trap . .
I always had good luck with peanut butter on mouse traps
@@mudman7618 Honey Roasted Peter Pan Peanut Butter!!💯
You need to get the little socket that you can put on your cordless drill or driver and you can lift your stabilizer legs in seconds instead of all that cranking
I’ve considered picking one up!
I don't know when you filmed this, but that's what's known as a Blood Moon. It was expected to be seen in North America on Sept 18th. 'It occurs when the Earth's shadow partially covers the moon in a partial lunar eclipse' (copied from Google).
We use Grandpa Gus in our camper during storage. Buy them online and they'll be cheaper. We use A LOT of the packets at a time (15 packets in our 26' camper) during storage and then leave them in when we take it out the next year. Good luck!
Hoping to camp there for MEA weekend!
Great vid. I'm a native Minnesotan and never been, so this was much appreciated. . .
Consider getting a cordless drill with adapter for those stabilizer jacks,
Man those views were amazing. I told the wife a trip up the Minnesota coast is a must do. Thanks for sharing guys. Safe travels ✌️
We couldn’t recommend it more!
What was the red bush/tree when you were at the beach? Really cool. Need for Cousin Penny to teach Barkley to catch the mice. 😊 She surprised me by catching it & going behind the couch to kill it. So proud of herself when she brought it to me. Loving your new trailer. Amelia you’ll be towing in no time. No doubt. 💜
We’ll get her towing soon!
That was a Sumac. And they get flaming red in the Fall.
Thanks for addressing practical problems. When y'all gets the kinks worked out, I think you're going to love your new home. Blessings from SC, Jane❤🙏
We’re loving it already!
We eat them when we go hiking and driving. And a coke.
Fritos are poison but make a great fire starter
We really enjoy spending time with you 2. Thanks for going through the trouble to video your travels. We’re in South Carolina now but when we’re out in Colorado in the truck camper maybe we’ll reach out and meet up. Breakfast for supper?
Thanks for tuning in! Maybe we’ll pass by someday
nice to see you both again I always enjoy the videos you go to some real beautiful places
Thanks for the support!
Have always been a travel trailer person. Currently on my 5th unit, a 20’ Jayco. After my wife passed I didn’t need the beautiful 32’ we had so started downsizing, took 2 tries to get what I have. (2nd try) I just found your channel a week or two ago and have fell in love with Barkley. Pomeranian? Looks like our Tyler, which was our wedding gift to each other! Enjoying the videos, keep it up and safe travels!!
We’re loving it! So sorry to hear about your situation, hope you’re still enjoying camping for her!
My home town!!! Pigeon River waterfall is awesome! Also right across the water fall is Canada. That waterfall/river was used for logging a long time ago. ❤
We loved visiting!
Some beautiful scenery - add that to future travel lists as it will make a nice change from our Colorado based camping trips. As others have mentioned and any exterminator will tell you, the trick is to stop rodents from getting inside in the first place. Traps with peanut butter are great for catching what has moved in but unless you block the entry points the peanut butter will keep attracting them in. Buy the white plastic traps from HD etc and use just a little peanut butter. Use steel wool from hardware stores (not super market soap variety) along with expanding spray foam cans. Get even the smallest opening, holes, cracks under your camper (around sewer pipes, gas lines etc) and all around your refrigerator, hot water heater sides, inside storage lockers etc.). Once you have eliminated the problem, promptly remove traps with peanut butter that is an attractant and replace with a few bait boxes to kill anything that may come in later to prevent an infestation - especially when in storage.
Thanks for all the tips!
Alright Alright Alright YET another most excellent and “large” video! Even though you’re on the go with either hikes and treks and such, your videos are so relaxing and serene!
Must say your pairing of music and scenery/drone shots as well as editing has come a very long way since I first started following you!
I think you made the right choice in getting the trailer and stepping away from the truck camper. It is so nice seeing you exploring the surrounding area more
As always, stay safe out there…..
P.S. the looks on your faces eating the “pies” were priceless! It was like two kids on Christmas morning opening presents and not getting the exact toys you wanted lol. Sorry those “pies” didn’t meet your expectations…hopefully the 2nd pie place made up for it though
Thanks for the kind words, Mike! We’re glad you’re enjoying the trailer life as well. We miss our truck camper ease sometimes but love being able to drop and explore! And so true about the pies… Betty’s were far superior! At least for the gluten free options
That was beautiful scenery where you were at. Thank you for sharing that with us. Have you 2 considered fishing at the streams and lakes that you hiked to?
Yes, we need to do more fishing! Just haven’t gotten into it lately..
We are from Southern Minnesota and try to get up to Grand Marais every year. It's our favorite spot! We always make a stop at Betty's pies. Love their pie! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. We used to have a camper and we would put dryer sheets in to keep the mice out.
Such an awesome area!
We used cloves for mice issues, also Irish Spring soap and dryer sheets. We have a hurricane coming here in Florida. Amelia remember those days? Any plans for another live show? Thanks for sharing. 😊
Good luck with the hurricane prep!
This worked for me, poor some soda on a lid. Mice can't burp and must drink.
Of course I did that before I started traveling with cats lol. Good luck.
Hopefully those mice were not in the trailer before you bought it. Love the pet back pack, he is too cute. Safe travels
How funny, glad to know that worked!
Just starting the video and you’re talking corn chips. Fritos and Philadelphia cream cheese. Scoop some cheese with the frito chip and eat … thank me later !! It’s really good and chilli cheese Fritos are my favorite
Good idea!
As soon as it is cold out I tell my husband to refill all our mouse traps in our basement with peanut butter. We have 20 mouse trap set in our basement. Catch him every time.
That is a lot of traps!
I found you channel looking for hikes in the Michigan area. I grew up in Michigan but the military brought me to Alaska years ago. Nice to see recognizable scenery again
We sure do love Michigan!
A 50 year travel trailer camper here. Using the nice smelling repellents are fine but it really doesn't stop the mice from coming in. Just think that putting a deet repellent on you skin does repel most of the mosquitoes, but not all and you still get bitten.
What you need to do is close off any openings that a mouse can squeeze through. You mentioned Ace Hardware and the Ace near us recommended a spray foam that expands filling any holes that a mouse can squeeze through. Especially underneath there are numerous holes large enough that mice or worse, rats can get into the camper. Holes where water pipes for drainage come through, pipes where black and grey drain pipes come through, etc. Check where the gas lines enter the trailer too.
We’ll have to try and seal all the tiny holes up around the camper!
I use concentrated Peppermint spray or liquid on cotton wool which is stuffed into cotton glove liners fingers and spread around the caravan / camper to deter Mice and other vermin.
Good to know!
Try using fox urine granules in a women's panty hose sock tied up and spread them all over the camper in places where they live and eat. It worked for us. We also used ultrasound modules you plug into the ac power outlets.
Good to know!
Are you guys gonna try all the Pasties in the UP? Delicious! We tried everywhere we saw them!!
We’ve tried one, and it was amazing!
Safe Travels 🫂🫂🫂🫂
Yay! Split Rock is where we honeymooned many years ago!
Gorgeous!
That was a "Blue" moon. That is the name of the second full moon of a month.
Ah that’s it!
Chics cute
what is the lock you put on the trailer hitch?
It’s made by Proven Industries
If you make it back to Texas at all, the only thing better than Fritos is H-E-B’s Texas Corn Chips. Same 3 ingredients, and they always seem less greasy. Tip from a fellow TX to northern MI transplant!
We love HEB!
@@LivingLargeCamping I promise, those corn chips are worth stocking up on.
Those Granpus work great! At least for us, it has in 3 years! No issues.. no pest... and best of all, ur pup is safe! My 2 pup sleep around, sometimes near one, and they won't even look at it. Safe travel, guys! Always great content
Barkley living the good life!
He sure is!
At least you got to see Split Rock Lighthouse, one of the most photographed lighthouse in the world. Hopefully you got to visit the Visitor Center while you were there. Hopefully you get to see Gooseberry Falls as you head back towards Duluth too. Three major waterfalls there and the Lower Falls drains into Lake Superior.
Two Harbors and Black Beach are also great places along Highway 61.
Nice hike, please put the dog snacks in a ziploc on your hikes, you do not want to attract the bears or animals.
We love you guys. My wife calls you "our kids". She says we have to find out what "our kids" are doing. Believe me that's a term of endearment. We know you are mature adults. We have been RV ing for 17 years in a 33 foot travel trailer that weighs 10,000 pounds. We want to travel the country one more time before we get any older but tired of pulling that big honker around. We really like the layout of your new rig. Would you mind sharing the year and model number? Is is a Micro Minnie? It looks like what we would be comfortable in. Thank you and continued good luck with you You Tube channel.
Such an amazing trip thank you for taking us on it. I can’t wait till I can get a camper and start doing things like this again thank you.
Our first trailer was an 18' tandem axle. We loved the size but when our little family grew to 5, we needed more room and upgraded to a 26' trailer. Looks like your trailer is a great size for your needs. Enjoy!
I truly hope you will not be offended by my decision to unsubscribe from your channel, but until you submit to the act of marriage, i will not indulge in your content. This is simply stated based on my religious beliefs, i do wish you well.
Well, did the counter measures work?
So far so good!
Ok so is little scooter letting the mice run free at night? I thought the little guy would have for sure scared them off by now😉
I use peppermint oil on cotton balls place them all over to deter mice they harte the smell but it smells good to me.
The North Shore Berry Crumb is my favorite Rustic Inn pie. I don’t care for cream pies either. Unfortunately all of their gluten free pies have cream. What was the last campground you stayed at? I am guessing it was Lamb’s Resort. Unfortunately it is very hard to get a MN North Shore State Park campsite. Judge C.R. Magney is a nice campground, and Devil’s Kettle is a cool waterfall. Lots of steps! Enjoyed your video. You will have to return again to see more.
We had Betty’s north shore berry, it was fantastic! We’re already planning our next trip back!
@@LivingLargeCamping great! Make reservations 6 months early so you can stay at a state park. MN State Parks are the best!
@@sandraecker6463either Tettegouche or Split Rock State Park, both are surrounded by beautiful forests.
Oh just beautiful views
You better do what she tells you to do lmao😊 have fun guys
Chili cheese and flaming hot Fritos 😎
Beautiful scenery
Where was that state park? Absolutely beautiful
Nice. Enjoy the camper . 😊
my dad adds peanut butter or bread with a dab of syrup works great
Peanut butter 👍 mice love it
Get some glue boards set along wall
Absolutely love the sceneries of Minnesota. Love seeing Barkley in his backpack 🎒🎒 So stinkin cute!😊😊 And Connor, I love your TCU Horned Frogs hoodie. I have one as well. Go Horned Frogs! Disappointed that they're affiliated with Disciples of Christ. Not a biblically accurate denomination ☹️🙁
Thank you, Erin!
Living in northern MN, the Rustic Inn is our favorite place to eat when up the North Shore. Thanks for the beautiful video.
Good to know!
Walnuts. Mice love walnuts. Try it. It will work, just jam a piece into the trap bait hook. “Cheese” is a myth.
Good tip!
Your videography skills shine in this video. Ya'll keep getting better and better. So glad to see a camping vid again. Also so nice to see how you interact with each other so nicely and obviously love each other very much.
Thanks for the kind words!
I know a lot of people say they don’t work, but we have had success with dryer sheets, we put they out all over are camping, ever where and since we started using them no mice, and we live in the country and we clean out all food, we put them out especially in the winter time when we are not using
We lined our cabinets with dryer sheets as well, so far so good!
Bag of fritos is great during cold weather open a small bag put some chili in the bag and all the fixins it is tasty.Great vlog u too safe travels.
Chili season is coming soon!
I grew up on Fritos! A staple for every pantry! 👍
Absolutely!
Awesome seeing the family again ❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
love fritos,, makes great fire starter
Interesting… now I want to try!
I love Fritos with French onion dip
Sounds delicious!
BEAUTIFUL! Wow, what scenery. I hope your Grandpa Gus success equals ours. No more mice in our trailer in 3 years now. Be sure you buy a bottle of the spray, you need to spray the packets every 30 days when it's in storage to keep them smelling strong enough.
We’ve had luck so far! We’ll pick up the spray next amazon order
Good deal! It's surprising how well they work and that they're non toxic. Win Win.@LivingLargeCamping
Get a cat😅
If we weren’t both allergic!
Great video thank you 🫶🏾
Thanks for watching!
What do you put on the tanks to do that.
It’s a magnetic sensor that goes on the bottom of the tank. Recommend plastic protector rings for the base, otherwise the sensors get sandwiched. One of my sensors works well. The other, not so much and yes before anyone asks. I have changed the batteries.
We took our dinette out .put love set in
Interesting idea!
Peppermint oil spray
Good to know!
Waterfall was beautiful
It really is!
Use sticky traps.
We’ll try those if we need something else!
Enjoy your trip❤
Thank you!
Awesome video
Thank you!
How was Betty’s Pie?
What is the tea mixture you made on this video
Fantastic! And its a chai tea “latte” but just creamer, honey and cinnamon
Oh no!
Get a cat
Peanut butter is the best using the cheapest trap work the best, and only put enough underneath that medal gets them every time. The pellets you never know where they are after they die!
Very true!
Why do you have to make your show about getting rid of mice WTF
I love it. Keep it up.
Why are you complaining about their efforts to get rid of the mice? That's the real world of RV ownership.
Rat Zapper … 😊works great Google Amazon ..
ahh camper life , beautiful trip this week!! Yum yum pies!
Be safe out there!!!
Thanks for watching!
