I'm 5 mins into your video and you have shown me a few places I know from when I was deployed there with the UN back in 2007. My first few days I stayed at Timor Lodge until I was acclimated and sourced more long term accommodation. Your first stop outside Dili at 5 mins mark, the rock in the background on the beach, I have a photo of that exact same spot..... and rock I see the food options haven't changed in 16 years :) Timor is NOT Bali, but has the potential to be a good tourist destination.
I am portuguese. Timor is new independent country. It needs the support of the world. Macao and Singapore were little countries and now they have good economies. I believe in people of Timor Leste. When the portugueses arrived in Asia Singapore was a island of fishermen.

What I learned from this video is that it's quite expensive compared to the other SEA neighboring countries but you are paying for a non crowded place where you will enjoy a laid back moment. And also to understand that you are visiting one of the youngest country that are trying to establish as a developing country and later on develop country.
I travelled to Timor Leste on a school service trip (School based in Canberra, Australia) and it was absolutely beautiful. Beautiful country. I was in Timor-Leste eight months ago for a holiday and I was blown away by the untouched natural landscape and the friendliness of its people. Admittedly it looks greener in your video than when I went but I went in the dry season (didn't stop it raining periodically). Next time I go I want to do the eastern trip to Jaco island as well. I went to Timor Leste in 2001 with the Army. I always thought one day it would make a holiday destination.I still remember the local kids in Fatuklaran would always come and get MMs of us . They would be almost 30 years old now. where does the time goes. I would like to go back one day.
