Good Morning drinking my morning coffee and watching your kiln opening!! Love your blues/green combos..thanks for sharing. Also love that Pearl White and Sunrise..stunning!!!! I will be trying that combo! And I really enjoy the texture you used with the doily. I need to up my game with had building mugs. You’ve given me some inspiration! I also love the dragonfly.. I have a similar mould but like your placement on the handle. Thank you so much for the shout out and thank you so very much for sharing your work with us all!! Happy New Year! Cheers to a great year ahead! Xo
Oh Sarah... I was watching your Live Glazing an hour ago before I went back to work. I felt so sorry for myself that I wasn't part of the party. Congrats for your 10.000 Followers. That is a big thing and so earned. I think that all of us learn a lot from you. You treat us so well and make us feel welcome. Much Love Suza PS: I'll try to stay awake next time when you announce another LIVE.
@ Thank you sooo much Suza! I totally get it..it was like midnight in Europe and early morning in Australia! I wish there was a time when all continents are awake! 🤪 It was a fun Live probably confusing to watch on the replay. 🥰
Love your stuff as always. Everything is so unique which is what drew me to pottery to begin with. You feel like the wheel rushes you and you like the patience hand building allows and I am the opposite. I like that the wheel sets the pace because if not I could spend hours on a hand-built mug and still never be happy with it.
That is another quite interesting perspective. You are probably a perfectionist and that's why it is hard to stop. The wheel set the time for you. That is really great...
Thank you so much, Lynne. I will do more of the Dragonfly mugs with different glazes and shapes because I also like how they turned out. Much Love Suza
So nice everything you make. With so much devotion. Your mugs are feelgood. Nice glazes. Everytime we learn from it don't we? Some need a re fire you say, but the one with the vertical fizzy stripes, you should keep it as it is. In the 70tees that fizzy was a fashion trend. (Fat lava West Germany pottery) I'm from the Netherands 🇳🇱 Have a good day Suza. Bye 👋 Sheila ♡
You are right. I kept like it is. And I already used it and it is so interesting to look at that mug and the little fizzy details. Thank you so much for watching and supporting. Sending a big Hi to the Netherlands. Would love to travel there again to visit those tiny pottery places all over the country. Much Love Suza
@susanroswandowicz it would be nice to meet if you come and visit the Netherlands. We could make something together at the art studio where i fire my works. Let me know Suza. Take care ♡ Xx Sheila
Over glaze decals call for a much lower firing than bisque I am pretty sure so be careful with that. I use underglaze decals so I can put them in with my regular glaze fire but have never used overglaze decals because they require a totally difference fire than I currently do.
I made my first tries with it and it went quite good. I only don't like the designs that much. My own ones would be great to have, but that is another thing I can focus on when I have more time. Having a family and a full time business makes my pottery time rare. So I use the time I have as best as possible. ❤️ Suza
I love all your new texture rollers. The glazes that break over texture would be beautiful on those mugs. Those breaking glazes have a main color and then on where it hits the texture it is another color. Mayco blue surf, Lavender mist, nimbus, rose quartz and stoned denim are a couple. Green tea is supposed to be one also which you used here. Amaco ancient jasper, blue stone, river rock, all of the floating glazes break on texture. There are so many but I can only think of these at the moment. I am exactly the same way with the wheel. I just can't get a good mug. And when I have time to make something I know if I hand build it I get a mug, but if I throw it on the wheel I may end up with nothing but wasted time. So I chicken out. I need to take another class too.
Dear Michelle, that class helped me a lot. You will see when I'll have my next kiln ready. Next time I'll shop glazes and my husband will ask why I need more although I have so many already I will say: Michelle told my that I definitely need those 😉 Much love Suza.... PS: Do you still live on a boat?
Nice.. set up ! I like your mkm organizer , I also liked how you put the graphics on the side regarding your glaze application. I’m glad you challenged your self to get on the wheel !! I really like how you put texture on the handles , nice job !
Thanks Shawn. Yesterday on a 1000km ride with my car I went shopping with you on UA-cam. It was fun, like you said. So sad that there is no Tuckers in Germany. It is like the best place I can imagine. I order almost everything online. The clay, the glazes, the tools. Would be great to GO SHOPPING like you did. Much Love Suza
It's snowing winter wonderland. In the city, I remember as a child being sad that it was grey slush. But then we moved to near Kierchbach in Der Steiermark, near Graz. Can you spell the place you live in Germany for me please. Now I will continue to watch your long awaited video. BTW. All I have been doing is cleaning gardening and trying to get some order back into my home and garden. I'm almost finished in courtyard. 2 years of neglect makes for hard work. But.......when it's such a big job it's overwhelming and then I procrastinate over the situation 😅😅
Evelyn, I do have friends in Graz. I met them last weekend in Porec Croatia for watching Handball. Austria against France. I am from Magdeburg. It's a nice place to live but I would love to live in the mountains....
Hey Suza! That Sunset Pink looks great on that clay! Looking forward to seeing your decals. Ooooo I just got Gun Metal Green! Great dragonfly! Thanks Suza!
Thank you so much Noreen. I thought in the beginning that it is quit boring but drinking out of it was nice and I like the mug a little better now. Thanks for watchimg and supporting. Much Love Suza
You make me so happy😊😊😊. My name is Johanna from Finland❤. I teach ceramics and i think you are really good. Your decoration is finished and very beautiful. I hope you would learn a few glazes of your own. I think they would be great. It's awonderful feeling to have your own glaze on a mug.
Dear Johanna, where do you teach Ceramics and to who? Kids or adults. What do you do the most in pottery? Making my own glazes is something I can imagine for the time when I don't have a job anymore. So in about 15 years. I can Imagine myself making pottery rooms out of the kids rooms. And of course I want a Sauna. Like everyone in Finland has probably. Sometimes parents are being sad when their kids move out. I already have placed my wheel and the shelfs in my imagination ... 😂 and then... when I have time and space I will getting crazy with the pottery. You know what I am talking about. Much Love Suza
It was. But this is how winter should be. I like the seasons a lot. The warm energy of the sun in spring is the best feeling. And you can appreciate it better if it’s cold before. You know what I mean. Much love Suza
Love to follow kiln openings, and you are one of my favorites. Mine are usually disapointing and i admire you courage to try different combinations. Your style is unique. Thank you for sharing your works and thoughts. And yep i´m also from Finland :)
Dear Pia..... Finland, where the people eat a lot of fish and swim in ice cold water. I love that. Thank you so much for your support. I was checking your channel. You are so creative. Don't believe that your kiln unloads are disappointing. Just keep on going. Much Love Suza
Hello my dear;Happy new yaer .glad to see you. o NOT put decal in bisque fire. Bisque is 04 or 05....decals are 018 ...717C or 1322 F. 04 is 1060C or 1940 F. Hope that helps. Hugs from America. Chris
I did like you recommended and It went quite good. I will show some of the results with my next video. Thank you so much for don#T making a big mistake. Much Love Suza
Dear Laura. I have been there in 2022 and I loved Virginia. My favorite states are Montana and Utah but Virgina is definitely on that list too... Thank you for watching and supporting. I appreciate that a lot. Much love Suza
Hey suza! Finally catching up on UA-cam! The wheel is fun. Just let the clay be the shape it wants to be. Don’t try to force it and u will enjoy it more. Dont u just hate opal lustre?? I really need to try the 6 coats and see if it works. Thanks for the shoutout! I hope u love the decals like I do! No bisque will burn it off. Needs to be cone 018 mine fires to 780 degrees Celsius. I’m saving pieces for another decal load. Lustres need the same low firing so if u have lustres u can put them in the same load. U can put ug transfers ontop of glazes but only on stable glazes or they will stretch when the glaze moves. Can’t wait to see what decals u got. Looove the dragonfly mug. Your friend is very lucky! The pink bowl near the end is my favourite. Nat xx
Dear Nat, I was ready a lot about those Decals. And I did some mugs to test it. With my next Kiln Opening I show them. It went surprisingly good. The best would be to have my own designs. I am not that happy with the ones they offer on etsy. I saw that Audrey is designing her own decals and let them print somewhere. That might be something I will do in the future. But right now it is just finding enough time to do any kind of pottery. Working, Traveling, and social Life take so much time... I am not jealous of full time potters but I sometimes wish I would have more time for muddy work. You know how I feel. Sending you much love Suza
Thank you so much Jil. English is so hard and finding words is more challenging than pottery. I will hopefully remember next video. Maybe I can make myself a little reminder. In German we say Struktur... I think thats why I just use structure. It will probably make me smile, when I hear myself saying it again. Much Love Suza
Hi Suzanne, so many pretty ones from that kiln. Nat from Mud Magic has just uploaded a mug making tutorial on you tube, it’s fabulous .
Lovely unload Suza! Wonderful creativity ❤
Thank you Lisa... you are always with me while glazing. My IPad is on my table and I watch latest videos and the old ones also.... Much Love Suza
Nice kiln opening! I love the dragonfly mug especially. Thanks for sharing.
Dear Linda... Thank you for watching and supporting. It means a lot to me. Much Love Suza
