- Spotting some F-15 Eagle's of the 104th Fighter Wing at Barnes Regional Airport at Westfield, MA on June 17th, 2015.
Also in this video you will see the first flight of two on the Alert Scramble departure where they start rolling with no delay in full afterburner and immediately break away from the airport traffic pattern. An Alert Scramble departure is when they are dispatched and cleared for an immediate takeoff to intercept an aircraft that has entered a restricted zone, but in this case I believe it was a training flight only. The remainder F-15's departing from right to left were on their normal daily ops routine.
Note: Sorry for the slight shakiness in the video while the F-15's were taxiing by. I was actually trying to wave to the pilots.
Unfortunately I could not stick around this time to watch them return for landing as I had to get to work, but I certainly got lucky with timing to catch that massive departure.
Great video as always!
The last F-15 in this video comes from the Florida Air National Guard`s 125th FW. Also, the Eagle has a nickname that applies to the Air Supremacy versions only:"Albino", because the E model is known as the "Mud Hen."
John Osbourn It sure is. From what I was told, it use to belong to the 125th FW and was given to the 104th here at Barnes not too long ago. I heard they will be repainting it with the 104th's markings.
John Osbourn Same with that one F-15 with the markings from the 159th FW based at NAS JRB New Orleans in Louisiana.
