  • "Yes, the Space People refer to me as Mental Channel Number One."
Former taxi driver George King is interviewed by psychiatrist Dr Stafford Clark.
George's extraordinary story began when he claimed he was spoken to by the voice of the Interplanetary Parliament one Saturday morning while doing the dishes. He further claims to have been visited by UFOs and become a conduit for a psychic alien from Venus.
He then enters a trance so that the Venusian Aetherius can give Dr Clark a warning about mankind's future. Also present are a Cambridge astronomer and another psychiatrist. You can judge the nature of their reactions for yourself.
Clip taken from Lifeline: Mars and Venus Speak to Earth, originally broadcast on BBC Television, Thursday 21 May, 1959.
You have now entered the BBC Archive, a time machine that will transport you back to the golden age of TV to educate, entertain and enlighten you with classic clips from the BBC vaults.

Ever since I witnessed what Parkinson's and Lewy bodies dementia can do to the brain (hallucinations and delusions) I would never believe anybody to be anything but totally sincere in relating what they claim they can see and experience when I personally can not see anything. Not saying that this chap had either of those diseases but simply knowing what the brain is susceptible to and how capable it is of making us believe all sorts to be true has made me sympathetic to people like this gentleman even though I don't believe a word of it. He's certainly a source of fascination to me. He rarely stumbled over his words, maybe he was just an extremely good actor. Whatever he really was and really believed you can't get over the fact that he had got a point (although it's a shame religion had to raise it's ugly head)...'be nice to each other or Earth and mankind are buggered' Nuff said.

Looks like Charles Bonnet can happen with deterioration of sight and is not due to dementia. I'm no expert but George King doesn't look to be suffering from sight loss or dementia. Who knows what this man may have been suffering from. I don't believe he really experienced the things he talks about but he himself obviously believed it and what's more wanted to talk about it on TV. Very strange as i saw a flying saucer in 1974 and another in 1977, as this is from 1959 and the man has no reason to lie im inclined to believe him.

'Life' is pure consciousness with no mass. The/a physical body is a/the method that enables an individual soul (consciousness) to communicate in this physical plane at this time/space here on this planet. Without the constraint of a physical body, distance, time and physical 'living' (that is being alive) has no meaning you simply exist and it is infinite! You could be a bird or an insect or a tree or plant or fish or another mammal or what you think is an alien if you happen to be in a human form at the moment. Some of us know and some (most) do not!

No, but I knew a good friend of Patrick Moore (C A Cross) who drew the first maps of Mars for NASA and there is indeed a crater on Mars named after him! This man I knew was very intelligent and was involved with the likes of Carl Sagan and was a member of the Interplanetary Association. I was a young boy when I knew him though he never said anything to me I felt he knew a lot more than he let on. He died in his mid 50's!? I have a few of his papers and he was involved with Jodrell Bank and Bernard Lovel etc etc. The chap featured here is probably barking mad but may be trying to tell us things without actually saying it. Those that know are not allowed to tell. Watch some of professor Simon on this site especially his current stuff.

The point is the message/warning this man claims to be delivering to humanity.
Knowing that his own concerns about the atom bomb wouldn't be listened to he invented a "higher authority."

Ufos have long been documented to take an interest in our nuclear capabilities. They're drawn to nuclear energy. What he said has been supported by decades of sightings by trained military observers from Rendelsham to Malmstrom to Holloman Air Force Base and many more.

I clicked on this as I thought it was DB Cooper. This guy is awesome he is either pulling a massive wind up in which case he has balls of steel a couple of times he looks like he might start laughing. If he believes what he’s saying - then FairPlay, driving a taxi is probably really boring so why not make things more interesting - you only live once. Plus his sunglasses are super dope. Legend.

The 'man' he claims to have met had no pupils, was broad in stature, and had very small feet but very big hands. Sadly, he was so top-heavy and blind he could not stand. Given his mother had met these extraterrestrials, it's a shame DNA profiling wasn't available at the time of this interview (the interviewee clearly has pupils but, suspiciously, we gain only the briefest glimpse of his hands and not even a flash of his feet)! BTW, the alien 'Sirius' clearly learned English via the BBC World Service of the 1950s - he sounds more upper class than the Royal Family!
