Very strange airport with all the parking right by the threshold like that. Funny to see all the taxi lines from the parking spaces directly onto the runway!
I was in Eilat the last time in -94 I think...I miss it soooo much😍I used to visit Israel a lot in the 80s and 90s and spent a lot of time in Eilat working in coffeeshops and staying in youth hostels. Oh those memories. It was easy for tourists to get short jobs there in the hotels or restaurants,I guess those times are over☹️
it looks way better now! I used to hate that promenade, everyone walking on you and yelling stuff. but recent years the mayor is kicking ass, it looks amazing and very peaceful.
@@Meg-ts3kx are there buses from Luxor Egypt to Eilet? This way, I can see more of the sites & hope its cheaper by bus. I plan to visit Israel after luxor
And THAT is called threading the needle. Loved seeing and feeling this happen live in Eilat, at this now retired airport, and then enjoying the Gulf of Aqaba. 🇮🇱❤

I heard they are building a new airport away from the town and the current one will be used for tourist resorts.

I first flew in there on an Arkia B707 in February 1991, that was interesting. Later in the 90s I flew from there to and from the UK using Excalibur.
There used to be 3 international airports within a 10 km radius....
