Just for the record.. I learned technique using a toy plastic razor with grandpa when I was a youngin! Still have my first can of shaving cream from then!
What a fearless shaver! He is carving his face like grabbing himself a spoonful of butter! It is totally blind luck that he finished without a hitch. This is some amazing steel nerves, I'm absolutely loving it.
Between Mike not using enough "lather" , beating the razor on the sink and going way faster than I would using that combo, he had me on the edge of my seat.
What was your son BANGING that beautiful razor on, when rinsing😖😩 JEEEEZ, go easy on Dad's hardware. That poor r41 never saw it comin'😂 It's a work of art... treat it like one😉
Excellent shave Ken. Mike you should really watch your dad's videos. Banging the R41 while rinsing made me cringe and so did shaving with just plain water. Shew!
The DSC uses the Dorco Pace system of Handles and Blades. The nice thing is that they're cheaper on Amazon for those who want to save more. Also, they come in 2,3, 4,5 and 6 blade cartridges which are interchangeable with the handles. So maybe you buy the 6 blade and decide you only need the 3 blade cartridge, then get that refill because it fits. Pretty good cartridge system, I've used it for travel. So if you don't wanna join DSC Ken, just look up Dorco Pace on Amazon!
Gerard, It seems that since DSC was acquired and sued by P&G for patent infringement on the Dorco Pace blade finishing process; DSC has redesigned their cartridges, and phased out the Dorco Pace products, at least for new accounts. Also, Dorco has terminated direct sales in the USA. You can purchase their Pace System products on Amazon. I haven't uncovered which specific patents were involved in that lawsuit; but it was settled out of court; something about the finishing process on the blades (carbon, chrome, and PTFE). As if coatings on razor blades could be patented. It sounds crazy to me. The new DSC cartridges are low profile; and look superior for getting up under the nose. I have no idea how the blades compare. Dorco cartridges are generally regarded as middling in terms of sharpness, and smoothish, but not remarkable in any sense; and neither in the same league nor the same price category as the best Gillette cartridge systems.
I’ve been using that exact same dsc razor and cartridge for years. Handle broke and ordered a new one and somehow started getting double the amount of blades every month (I’m sure I was paying double). After having enough cartridges for probably a year I cancelled. I then had a set that felt like crap and cut me. Tried 2 or 3 out of that sleeve and same thing. So must have had a bad batch. Then had another that was smooth but missed a bunch of hairs. As my build up dwindled and was not happy I got into the UA-cam rabbit hole of watching de safety razor videos. Wife got me a R89 grande and sample pack of blades for Christmas and am loving it. Love the feel of lathering on my face with a brush. Taking notes on blades to determine which is best for me. I might revisit the first couple blades I tried after I get the hang of it to see if better technique improves the shave. Oh and by the way no matter the razor you can cut yourself badly if your not careful. In my wedding photos you can see a scar from cutting myself trying to get baby smooth that day with whatever was the Gillette cartridge popular at the time.
Hi Mr. Ken Surfs, I am a subscriber to the dollar shave club and have used cartridge razors most of my adult life. One little trick I learned to clean out cartridge razors is to take an old toothbrush and use the bristles of the toothbrush to get in between the blades and remove any hair that might get stuck in there. Works every time, though it may take a minute or two to clean out all the hairs, best done under running water or between dips in the sink I'm glad that you're not one of those guys who are bashing cartridge razors, to me, that's just ridiculous. Both are shaving tools and if one way works the best for you, that's great, keep doing what works for you, no need to bash the one that might not work for you. Anyways, great video and I think you should look into trying Dr. Carver's 'Pillowy' Shave Lather from the dollar shave club. 9 bucks for a 6 oz tube so it's not too pricey and it lathers really well, it's mentholated so it has a nice cooling sensation and it really is kinda pillowy and offers good protection during the shave. Cheers! 🍻🍻
I don't use cartridge razors anymore because my beard is heavy. Before I discovered DE razors, I had a dedicated toothbrush to clear the clogs of the plastic cartridge razors. I get far better shaves from my DE razors. Now, I use a sink with water, and swish my DE razor in it. It tends to clear out any residual whiskers and soap build up. That being said, use what works for you. If you prefer cartridge razors, then go for it. It's all about a great shave. No judgements here. Aside from the pounding, it was nice to see your son sharing a video with you. ;) Thanks for sharing the video, Ken!
I was a DSC member for nearly 3 years. The mid-tier, 4 blade model was my huckleberry. Never really disliked it, but decided to try a DE in August of ‘19. The men in my family were all electric (Norelco and Remington) for all my memory, so my use of blades at all was a departure from the beginning. I like the DE’s. Like the community and culture around this hobby. Find myself leaning towards the sharper end of the spectrum (Bic, Feather, Gillette Silver Blue, etc). Thank you for your efforts on this channel. I’ve really enjoyed your content
great job Mike love the confidence do a little home work, talk to your dad he can give you good info. I have a 27 year son who started using a safety razor this year. He came and watched me shave, I gave him the finer points and tips to have a good shave and he loves it now. Just some encouragement. banging the razor made me cringe pulled back from the computer. I kept thinking don't break. Have a great day. :)
Mike shaving reminds me of the first Rambo movie where the deputys were going to hold him down and dry shave him with a straight razor. He must be a tough guy.
Hi Ken... dollar shave club uses the Pace razors made in Korea. You can also pick them up from Amazon. The replacement blades cost two or 3 dollars. Cheaper than a Fusion but still much higher than using a DE razor. Also... if your son isn't comfortable with an R41, give him a Merkur 34c.
Hi Ken, I have found when using these 4,5,6, blade disposable razors, that the best way to keep them from clogging, is to keep the tap water running with warm water, and rinse the blade side and the back side of the razor every 3 or 4 strokes.
Jeez Ken, you need to take that kid in hand! That poor R41 being beaten to death in the sink! His cameo was brutal to say the least, I was expecting to see a a gusher at any second.
We have been been getting to know our new son. If you are a praying person, please say one for Austin (my son) he is having issues eating.... Glad to see your son doing a cameo!
I’ve been a member of Dollar Shave Club for about 5 years now. Best decision I’ve ever made. In my opinion, they are just as good as any of the more expensive razors and last just as long. And you can’t beat the price. Definitely worth checking out.
Holy Hell Mke simmer down with that combo! And what in all that is holy are you doing to that R41!!! No shaving cream and flying over your face like its a rolling pin?! Damn! Well you got some balls thats for sure. I'm shocked you didn't pick up any technique from your pops... he's a damn pro! Slow down and FEEL the razor glide over your LATHERED face... Lather is very important. Good luck and try and enjoy the task... we all have to do it... find an enjoyment factor in it.
I’ve been watching a few of your videos since I discovered your channel a few days ago. I’ve been using a brush and soap since I started shaving way back in the 1970s. When I watched your son shave I couldn’t believe he would have a go without any lather. I’ve actually never seen anyone shave without lathering up. He’s a braver man than me. Lucky he can get away with it. Anyway thanks for sharing. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
I prefer my safety razors over the cartridge razors. And I'm cheap but im on blood thinners I just have to be careful not to nick myself or be weary of pimples
You should try the Costco "Kirkland signature" razors they are 3 blades and it's a $14 piece for like $22. Some people say the are made by Harry's but anyways I think they are good value for the price.. Love your videos! So much knowledge I can't find anywhere else!
Great shave, Ken & Mike. I was a Dollar Shave Club member the past few years and used Gillette disposables for 30+ years before that. I really enjoy wet shaving now. I never thought shaving could be so much fun! I'm really enjoying my new Kensurfs synthetic brush.
Happy to see your son. But the apple fell far from the tree. Technique not good. He's missing out on using a proper shave soap with a brush and omg with tappin that great razor... Tsk Tsk Tsk.... All habits from always using a cartridge razor. Most likely from a disposable cart... But each to his own I guess!! 😀 Still I'm glad he came and that was mighty kind of him! ✌
What your son needs is the Rockwell 6C/S Run it with the R4 plate, drop a feather in there, and its a perfect combo. And holy crap banging a DE razor on the sink?! And I see how he would have cut himself, he's putting quite a bit of force on the head, I used to do that with the Cartridges, goes to show that you pick up bad habits from bad equipment. Good shave both. Brave kid. Needs to relearn how to use a razor if he wants to go DE though. But, that's what Dad - Son moments are for.
This is absurd to me that I'm watching a video of a guy shaving ,no offense, it just so happens it was the episode with your son's story. Ouch, I can sympathize. What really captured my attention was how sincere you are sharing your experiences. I can appreciate the effort you gave, to have your son cameo with the follow up. He is fearless, no shave cream; couldn't help cringing with each pass, especially at the speed he handled it with. I used to "shave" with my grandfather when I was 1 or 2, the memories made me search for the safety razors again. So it was nice to see you sharing that with your son. Price also played a role in the selection, recently my van der haggen broke, had it for a few years after that quickly realized it is not made as perceived. So sought out a budget friendly replacement, came across a quick set on amazon, the anbbas 3 piece with compact stand distinct handle for under $20. I scored a bunch of blades over the years catching sales , so not to loose out on my resources. I got that kit seemed a good match for the value, has some character as well. I'll share my first experience quickly, someone one you tube suggested taking the bur edge of a new razor; so what do I do take a straup to it. Pre oiled my face not something I do normally then Lathered the first pass sucked, "this must be a mistake" lots of passes later I stop. Thinking to myself this razor actually has good reviews, let me change blades just in case, if not I'm throwing it out or getting money back. First pass after blade change, now that's more like it. Is was me "de burring " jacked my skin to shreds. It was worlds better after the blade change, and still think it was worth the purchase, seems it was made well. Thank you for posting honestly
I can't believe I know this but that's the same razor as a Dorco pace 6+. It's probably cheaper just to order directly from Dorco USA and shop online for some shave butter.
Ken I would love to know what your reaction was when you saw he had beat that R41 off the sink? Plus I would guarantee he did that the first time off camera. He actually didn't get as badly cut as I expected. Need a Kensurf and Mikesurfs collaboration more often.
Finally getting a chance to watch the video this weekend....that boy of yours has no fear! I saw him apply the shave butter and I was curious the soap he was gonna use....then bam! He’s shaving it down! I was scared and I’m 2000 miles away! However if he’s gonna beat that R41 on the sink like that you can send it to me and I promise I would never do that! lol. Thanks for sharing and as always enjoy the video and you sharing!!!!
Did you forget to tell him the difference between razors and hammers. Great video none the less. Hope his razor burn wasn't too bad, with 2 creamless passes.
Good shave Ken. I used carts for years and they have their place but I`m a de guy now and they do the trick for me hands down. Was an article on the net today that Gillette`s sales are down. Maybe they`ve finally priced their way out of the market. Thanks for the video. Cheers.
Hi Ken- Great shave and razor review; thank you! Nice to see your son in the video; great debut shave. Sorry to hear about losing your wife’s cousin; sincere condolences. Take care and all the best. Have a great weekend!
Thanks for your two bits on the DSC razor! Not sure how you talked about Tarantino without Mentioning Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown or Kill Bill. I think you will enjoy the new movie just for the nostalgia alone.
Was really neat to have Mike do a shave for the group. What a recorded memory to have. For Pete sake quit banging that R41 on the sink like that! I can see why the razor bit you last time.
Nice to meet you, Michael! You did a great job with the Muhle R41. You're braver than I am, especially using that shave butter! Use some good shave cream or soap and don't apply any pressure and you'll be a pro in no time!
The shave cream from dollar shave club is as slick as it gets you should try it . and it's nice cause it's clear that's the only thing I have missed since switching to de shaving
Great video Ken & Son, great to finally put a face to Dad's stories. Your dad Is very keen on his movies and my heart skipped a beat when you first appeared and please take this as a compliment but a young handsome James Gandolfini I thought you were. The Soprano's without doubt one of the best series ever made and how I miss it still. Any thoughts ? All best the from the U.K and be great to see you both again occasionally. Especially if Dad passes on wee bit of knowledge on D.E shaving. Take care everyone Rob
The only blades that have cut me up like that have been the Treet Platinums. Those are the only blades I refuse to touch, and now those Bics that you used. I have a select few go-to's, and a few that I use from time to time, but I use what works.
I use Harry’s to shave my head... though they say they will refund you if you do use it for such.. I am nervous about using the DE on my head, but no problem with my face.. I hope that will change soon, going to try DE once I get the adjustable.
Ken thank you so much for getting him in! Was so good to see your son shave with a DE too! Would be so fun to see you guys shave together haha you could stop him from banging the R41! haha
I have been signed up with DSC since they first came out. I’ve always had the tier level that provides me with that exact razor you’re using. Now, I’m going to let everyone in on a life hack. Subscribe to the service (if you want), they send you so many blades that after a while you can cancel the subscription and live off the blades they’ve sent you for quite some time. I shave my head and my face everyday and I have a dense heavy full beard. I’ve been unsubscribed for years and still have blades stacked up…. With all that said, I’ve switched to de safety razor shaving. But I still use my DSC razor on my head
Great to see your son! I had the hardest time watching the R41 travel without much lubrication over his face that is a sharp blade and an aggressive razor. I cringed because I can not imagine nearly dry shaving with a feather blade. That said he did a good nearly dry shave with a feather blade. He has a good sense of rhythm using the R41 to keep the beat. The only razor I would ever dry shave with is a trac 2. More power to your son for getting back and using the R41 again!! Great shave Ken!
Ps, I haven't used a cartridge razor since November, and it was interesting to see that you did a 2 pass shave, going with the grain on the 1st, and then, across and against the grain on the 2nd, its got me thinking, shall I go back to my multi blade ?............ Just kidding.......😉 I don't think I could bring myself to now.......
Good clean fun, Ken 😉 You can tell he's a cart man by the way he taps the whiskers out of the razor👍 Nice to see a father and son video! Sorry for your loss.
Hi Ken and Michael. I enjoyed your video. I only wish that your first experience with the r41 was the same as mine. But I had the good fortune of watching your dad shave with it and I had learnt to respect it and go carefully with it. Hope you have the pleasure of using a good badger brush and good quality shaving soap or cream and feeling like a million dollars afterwards that's one thing that makes my day. Wish you both all the best from Scotland. Yours Sincerely Gordon Christie
Hi Ken! You might want to let your son know that the Dollar Shave Club blades are Dorco rebranded. Right now the Dorco website is liquidating their stock! He can probably get those blades for the next month or so for about half price! As always, great video!! Jim
Great shave. I wouldn't want to use a 6-blade DSC razor, but since I've already dumped the cartridges, I can thank myself later for choosing not to try out a razor with so many blades on a cartridge. Only two and one blade razors feel comfortable on me in my experience
You can definitely tell Mike is used to shaving with cartridge razors. The old bang it on the sink to unclog it routine. No need to do it with a DE razor. But thanks for the video.
Nice one Ken💈💈 Not your shave with Dollar Shave Club but your son Mike's shave with the R41 again👍 Courageous guy for sure, glad no real issues. Who knows, maybe he'll switch over to wet shaving someday for good. Venture is good stuff and gotta love the burn man👌 Enjoy!
Great shave as usual Ken. Was nice to see your son shave for the first time. Maybe you two should teamup and start another channel called The Kensurfs and Mikesurfs Shaving Duo. 😂😂😂💈💈💈
That razor is the same as the Dorco Pace 6 plus. the Amazon "shave it" blades fit the handle too. Gives quite a good shave but the cartridges are hideously expensive! Currently using a Rockwell 6c (trying different blades), very happy with it.
I just ordered a DE razor for a gift. This cameo reminds me of a litany of ok-with-a-modern-cartridge practices to warn the recipient against if he wants a good irritation-free shave from it. Uh, thanks, I guess.
Fun video! Your son did a great job considering he will probably have thousands of people watching the video. I'd have been a lot more nervous. It took me a few years to really refine my wet shaving technique, and some of that was just learning patience. KOKO!
Thumbs up and great video It would be interesting to know your opinion of canned spray shaving foams. Are there any superior brands that you have tested or would recommend?
I like the humble twin from DSC. The six blade executive that you’re using in this video just has too many blades. The 4X4 would be ideal but those blades just scrape the hell out of my face. So the twin is the most comfortable. Won’t be replacing my DE’s anytime soon, but good for travel.
I used dollar shave club before getting into DE razors because of the cost, it was $6 month for 4 razors 2 years ago. I could only use about 1 cartridge a week. It was way cheaper than other cartridge razors and the pamphlet they included with every shipment was pretty funny. I got into DE razors for the cost as well and it actually makes me enjoy shaving.
Excellent job! Had me wincing every couple of minutes but great that you overcame something such as that. I admit I shave every now and then with a de razor from your guys inspiration x but for me it can be terrifying
A little late, haha, but DSC executive handle and the blades surpass Harry’s and Gillette in my opinion. I use a shavette with Feather, Shark and Derby blades.
A special guest shaver! Love the idea. Might have to get my boys to come on...but it'll be a while before they can grow any facial hair!

👍👍
Great shave, Ken & Mike. I was a Dollar Shave Club member the past few years and used Gillette disposables for 30+ years before that. I really enjoy wet shaving now. I never thought shaving could be so much fun! I'm really enjoying my new Kensurfs synthetic brush.
Mike Hazlett 👍👍💈
Happy to see your son. But the apple fell far from the tree. Technique not good. He's missing out on using a proper shave soap with a brush and omg with tappin that great razor... Tsk Tsk Tsk.... All habits from always using a cartridge razor. Most likely from a disposable cart... But each to his own I guess!! 😀 Still I'm glad he came and that was mighty kind of him! ✌
Jeofrey Pereira 👍👍💈💈
... apple fell far from the tree ... So, do you know who the father is?
Ken and Michael, please do some comparison shaves together. It is really great to see you, Michael.
DE Shave 👍👍
Thanks, Ken! We're still going to call him Mikesurfs anyway. How did you like the movie? I thought it was amazing...
Chris Garcia oh yeah, movie was great👍👍💈
Nice shave. The Dollar Shave Club is popular, but I would go back to using an electric razor before giving them a try.
Josh Reszke 👍👍👍
What your son needs is the Rockwell 6C/S Run it with the R4 plate, drop a feather in there, and its a perfect combo.
And holy crap banging a DE razor on the sink?! And I see how he would have cut himself, he's putting quite a bit of force on the head, I used to do that with the Cartridges, goes to show that you pick up bad habits from bad equipment.
Good shave both.
Brave kid.
Needs to relearn how to use a razor if he wants to go DE though. But, that's what Dad - Son moments are for.
Steven Lim I agree👍💈💈
Sometimes I get a dud blade, then the next one works great. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I do appreciate I ate it👍👍💈
Rock on Mike for facing that beast a second time, on camera to boot.
Hywel Lloyd 👍👍💈
I can't believe I know this but that's the same razor as a Dorco pace 6+. It's probably cheaper just to order directly from Dorco USA and shop online for some shave butter.
He is a brave man doing that shave....no soap or cream 😳 but a few more times and he’ll get the technique ....
Eric Cardona 👍👍
Ken I would love to know what your reaction was when you saw he had beat that R41 off the sink? Plus I would guarantee he did that the first time off camera. He actually didn't get as badly cut as I expected. Need a Kensurf and Mikesurfs collaboration more often.
Sean McCloskey I had to see if he chipped the sink👍👍
@Kensurfs the parker 99r is a pretty aggressive razor aswell
Finally getting a chance to watch the video this weekend....that boy of yours has no fear! I saw him apply the shave butter and I was curious the soap he was gonna use....then bam! He’s shaving it down! I was scared and I’m 2000 miles away! However if he’s gonna beat that R41 on the sink like that you can send it to me and I promise I would never do that! lol. Thanks for sharing and as always enjoy the video and you sharing!!!!
Lovins To Shave lol..that’s one of my favorite razors too👍👍💈
Did you forget to tell him the difference between razors and hammers. Great video none the less. Hope his razor burn wasn't too bad, with 2 creamless passes.
Ken McBrayer Lol 👍👍💈
Good shave Ken. I used carts for years and they have their place but I`m a de guy now and they do the trick for me hands down. Was an article on the net today that Gillette`s sales are down. Maybe they`ve finally priced their way out of the market. Thanks for the video. Cheers.
Brian B. Thanks Brian👍💈💈
Hi Ken- Great shave and razor review; thank you! Nice to see your son in the video; great debut shave. Sorry to hear about losing your wife’s cousin; sincere condolences. Take care and all the best. Have a great weekend!
Mike H 👍👍👍💈
Ken, I can't wait to see the shave tribute to grandfathers
Luke Johnson Please remind me if I forget. My grandfather was in WW1.👍👍👍
@@kensurfs Mine was in WW2. Razor emporium has replica khaki sets
Not going to lie DSC balm, and butter, post shave dew, and shave lather, all very good. Don’t like the razors but man the other stuff is good
👍👍
Thanks for your two bits on the DSC razor! Not sure how you talked about Tarantino without Mentioning Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown or Kill Bill. I think you will enjoy the new movie just for the nostalgia alone.
Hangin AZ 👍💈💈💈
Was really neat to have Mike do a shave for the group. What a recorded memory to have. For Pete sake quit banging that R41 on the sink like that! I can see why the razor bit you last time.
Michael McKenna 👍👍💈
Nice to meet you, Michael! You did a great job with the Muhle R41. You're braver than I am, especially using that shave butter! Use some good shave cream or soap and don't apply any pressure and you'll be a pro in no time!
Jack Gillespie 👍👍💈
Great video Ken, definitely enjoyed it! It was nice to see your son too, he jumped right back on that blade like a champ! Kudos!
Shlemming XD 👍👍💈
Would love to see you get the Gilette Mach 3. I used it for many years. I'm a head shaver now and recently moved to a DE to try to prevent bumps
Take care everyone
Rob
TheRobby1971 Thanks Rob👍👍
So cool seeing your son shave. Always great shaving Ken!
josh eyres Thanks👍👍
The only blades that have cut me up like that have been the Treet Platinums. Those are the only blades I refuse to touch, and now those Bics that you used. I have a select few go-to's, and a few that I use from time to time, but I use what works.
NY Diesel in Fl 👍👍💈
All things considered, your boy did a very nice job with your DE, Ken. . . . Another great video. Thanks. Peace.
All Dollar Shave Club is is Dorco Razors. You can order straight from Dorco for cheaper.
Joey Crysel Awesome👍👍
Good lad, stepping up like that!
Lee Haseley 👍👍💈💈
Dorco makes the DSC razors. I believe that one is the Pace 7. I used that one for 3 years. Just started DE shaving. I enjoy your content!
Evan Horvath Thanks Evan👍👍💈
I use Harry’s to shave my head... though they say they will refund you if you do use it for such.. I am nervous about using the DE on my head, but no problem with my face.. I hope that will change soon, going to try DE once I get the adjustable.
Ken thank you so much for getting him in! Was so good to see your son shave with a DE too! Would be so fun to see you guys shave together haha you could stop him from banging the R41! haha
Michael Shannon 👍💈💈
Great job, Mike. Have ur Dad give you some legit shaving soap and a brush.
patkeating97 I agree 👍👍
I have been signed up with DSC since they first came out. I’ve always had the tier level that provides me with that exact razor you’re using. Now, I’m going to let everyone in on a life hack. Subscribe to the service (if you want), they send you so many blades that after a while you can cancel the subscription and live off the blades they’ve sent you for quite some time. I shave my head and my face everyday and I have a dense heavy full beard. I’ve been unsubscribed for years and still have blades stacked up….
With all that said, I’ve switched to de safety razor shaving. But I still use my DSC razor on my head
Hi, Michael. Way to give it another try
She Shaves with Jill 👍👍👍👍💈
Their Dr Carver's shave butter is actually pretty great for head shaving.
👍👍
Used to hitting the sink with cartridge razors 😁😁
😀😀
Great to see your son! I had the hardest time watching the R41 travel without much lubrication over his face that is a sharp blade and an aggressive razor. I cringed because I can not imagine nearly dry shaving with a feather blade. That said he did a good nearly dry shave with a feather blade. He has a good sense of rhythm using the R41 to keep the beat. The only razor I would ever dry shave with is a trac 2. More power to your son for getting back and using the R41 again!! Great shave Ken!
asland408 I was cringing watching him
Ps, I haven't used a cartridge razor since November, and it was interesting to see that you did a 2 pass shave, going with the grain on the 1st, and then, across and against the grain on the 2nd, its got me thinking, shall I go back to my multi blade ?............
Just kidding.......😉 I don't think I could bring myself to now.......
Drcharlesworth Lol
Great cameo with your son Ken. I bet you went nuts when you watched it and saw him smacking the hair out on the side of the sink😀
Scott Colwell oh yeah😖😖😖
I've seen a lot of things in my life.....but seeing your son with that razor going cold to his face like that.....Lord have mercy!!
LOL
Good clean fun, Ken 😉 You can tell he's a cart man by the way he taps the whiskers out of the razor👍
Nice to see a father and son video! Sorry for your loss.
J. R. 👍👍
Condolences to your family Ken 👍
Alex Quinn Thank you👍💈
Hi Ken and Michael.
Gordon Christie Thanks Gordon👍💈💈
Hi Ken! You might want to let your son know that the Dollar Shave Club blades are Dorco rebranded. Right now the Dorco website is liquidating their stock! He can probably get those blades for the next month or so for about half price! As always, great video!! Jim
Jim G. 👍👍
Brave to shave with the Muhle again. Moving a little fast there. Overall - well done. Not too much blood.
MindScienceAlchemy 👍👍💈
Hi Michael. It's great to see you at last, mate.
DE Shave 👍👍👍
Great vid Ken! Never disappoints
TheRazorAffect Thank you👍💈💈
Great shave. I wouldn't want to use a 6-blade DSC razor, but since I've already dumped the cartridges, I can thank myself later for choosing not to try out a razor with so many blades on a cartridge. Only two and one blade razors feel comfortable on me in my experience
GoldenSteelTV 👍👍👍💈💈
I use a blade buddy to strop dollar shave club razor before and after.
Hello Ken! Thank you for putting the subtitles, it helps me better understand 😊
Have a nice weekend!
FILSLADE - Rasage Traditionnel I try to add them to all the videos now
Yes I do the same thing for my videos, it helps for the hearing-impaired, I had the request for that.
👍👍
You can definitely tell Mike is used to shaving with cartridge razors. The old bang it on the sink to unclog it routine. No need to do it with a DE razor. But thanks for the video.
BigTexFyre I thought he chipped the sink....lol
Nice one Ken💈💈 Not your shave with Dollar Shave Club but your son Mike's shave with the R41 again👍 Courageous guy for sure, glad no real issues. Who knows, maybe he'll switch over to wet shaving someday for good. Venture is good stuff and gotta love the burn man👌 Enjoy!
Terry M 👍👍👍
Before I started DE shaving 3 years ago I used DSC Twin for a few years... Great shave for cartridges which are made by Dorco
Eddie Shealy 👍👍💈
Great shave as usual Ken. Was nice to see your son shave for the first time. Maybe you two should teamup and start another channel called The Kensurfs and Mikesurfs Shaving Duo. 😂😂😂💈💈💈
Manny Valdez 👍👍💈
That razor is the same as the Dorco Pace 6 plus. the Amazon "shave it" blades fit the handle too. Gives quite a good shave but the cartridges are hideously expensive! Currently using a Rockwell 6c (trying different blades), very happy with it.
I just ordered a DE razor for a gift. This cameo reminds me of a litany of ok-with-a-modern-cartridge practices to warn the recipient against if he wants a good irritation-free shave from it. Uh, thanks, I guess.
koisoke 👍👍💈
Fun video! Your son did a great job considering he will probably have thousands of people watching the video. I'd have been a lot more nervous. It took me a few years to really refine my wet shaving technique, and some of that was just learning patience. KOKO!
Kevin Beall 👍👍💈💈
Thumbs up and great video It would be interesting to know your opinion of canned spray shaving foams. Are there any superior brands that you have tested or would recommend?
To be honest I haven’t used the can shaving cream in ages
I like the humble twin from DSC. The six blade executive that you’re using in this video just has too many blades. The 4X4 would be ideal but those blades just scrape the hell out of my face. So the twin is the most comfortable. Won’t be replacing my DE’s anytime soon, but good for travel.
Christian Salazar 👍👍👍💈
I used dollar shave club before getting into DE razors because of the cost, it was $6 month for 4 razors 2 years ago. I could only use about 1 cartridge a week. It was way cheaper than other cartridge razors and the pamphlet they included with every shipment was pretty funny. I got into DE razors for the cost as well and it actually makes me enjoy shaving.
Awesome Randy👍💈💈💈
Excellent job! Had me wincing every couple of minutes but great that you overcame something such as that. I admit I shave every now and then with a de razor from your guys inspiration x but for me it can be terrifying
taifu13781 👍👍💈
A little late, haha, but DSC executive handle and the blades surpass Harry’s and Gillette in my opinion. I use a shavette with Feather, Shark and Derby blades.
