Listening to Eminem's catalog is 's like watching an artist attempting a different style in each painting. He literally is mastering his craft in front of the audience and it's amazing to listen to. I don't think there's anything in hip hop especially as far as rap goes that Eminem hasn't mastered. That's how you become the best.

The foolish pride reference: I see a distinct difference between prejudice, which means to pre-judge and what em once said in a song at a young age. Where he grew up he was constantly being reminded that he was white and his rap talent underestimated. Obviously hes gonna say things too. People say things when they are young. I love how he prefaces everything with how he liked the old the black power related fashion trends. So many people can relate to Em. That spoke to me when he referenced being drawn to the black power stuff because I grew up really admiring Malcom X and my own mother felt like I shouldn't because I was white. I felt what he said.
My favorite kind of white person is the ones not triggered or threatened by black power. You cant say they are racist. EMINEM😍 the ONE and only.

Just correcting the lyrics in the opening verse:
It's "crossing 8 mile into Warren, into hick territory" (Warren is seen as the border of the white/black area as south of 8 mile is when the black neighborhoods begin before getting into downtown Detroit. It boggles my mind how people can make such awful mistakes like this in a lyric video when the lyrics are out there. I don't know how the person even heard what they put in the first place. Also, nitpicking as a local, it's Center Line not Centerline but at least the words are correct. And Bel-Air Shopping Center is a place on 8 Mile. Not to be confused with Bel-Air, CA.

This is how far Nick had to dig to try and pull the race card on Em. Typical response when you dont have any skills or content.
This whole song is foreshadowing the "foolish pride" tape Benzino leaked trying to discredit Eminem (who was 14-15 at the time of the recording), accusing him of being racist.
Em is basically explaining the frustrations of being a white kid who loves black culture and wants desperately to be apart of it, but is, for the most part, met with harsh criticism, and even violence.
I guess the whole situation with Black Kim was the straw that broke the camel's back. So he went to vent his frustrations with Black people (black women mostly) on tape.
This comment definitely needs to be pinned.

Mostly black females, and this song is him explaining why he made that song, and why he was in the wrong. He was trying to get back at Kim for cheating on him, so he dated the finest girl at his high school, who was black, and also named Kim ironically. However, the black girl dumped eminem for a black guy, and that hurt em's pride. So he made a song dissing black people. He was called out for this song by Benzino during their diss era, so eminem had to address it because everyone, especially black raced people, started to hate his guts. While others were supporting eminem and said that his Old Foolish Pride song was pretty good. This song is basically part 2.
