This is a great Pedal - a VERY GOOD Marshall Blues Breaker Clone. I got the Original Marshall Blues Breaker MK1 and some other pretty nice Blues Breaker Clones, but the Blues Crab comes closest to the Original. And it´s low Budget.
Just got this pedal and it is my new favorite! It has a low gain distortion that reminds me of tape saturation. It thickens up the sound and still gives a beautiful clean tone that lets all of the chord tones come through. Thanks for the demo. I always come here when I am interested in a pedal. This is my virtual showroom!
Great demo, but the real treat is just seeing this guy (Mike Hermans?) play. His fingers are just flying... effortlessly, without even breaking a sweat. He seems he could be playing like that even in his sleep. Fantastic.
Great sound, great playing. This pedal does not forgive anything ... Every sizzling of the string, every misadjustment of the string action is heard... I like this device. Thank you for this video.
I have it for bluesy sounds and as a dirty booster after my main distortion. We call it now "The Chingonizer" (something like "Badass-er", but in Mexican slang). I use it mainly through a Strat, an Ibanez RG and a PRS, and I just love this pedal.
I've been checking out these Mooer pedals via your demos for the last few hours (and am digging your Robben Ford-ish playing). I could eat the tone that the Tele's making in this video, so that it could forever be inside me. Nice, bro!
Just received this today, sounds incredible. It "Maintains Your Tone" and adds grit to it. The Gain and the Level are connected, lots of volume level in there. The Tone control adds some really nice "Hair" on top if needed, its not boosting mids and cutting low end like most tone controls....Don't worry about these vids, their tone is not good and this pedal will not fix it! Crap in crap out, Awesome in Awesome out, seriously get it! ;)
I really like this pedal. It's quite versatile as an overdrive dirt boost or hard rock distortion. I use it mostly as a crunch pedal paired with a clean boost using a humbucker. But in this demo that really sounds nice turned way up pushing the Strat neck pickup.
Interesting, I wasn't aware they were each based on a different circuit, but it makes sense now since they each sound a bit different. Thanks for the reply!
I really enjoy your demos even though I have a full pedal board (including a Mooer Pitch Box which I love.) But I really enjoy your tasteful playing most of all. Thanks so much - I'll keep watching and stealing all the technique I can!
Great demo, Good sounding pedal but for 20-30 more bux, Wilson Effects (the "black tooth gain" I think its called) to my ears hands down makes the best old M Bluesbreaker pedal. That Wilson is my "leave on all the time pedal"....makes anything and everything still sound like itself but better....was paranoid enuf to lose it or have it break I had Wilson Effects make me 2! When I ordered it I had zero expectations but after owning it, I literally can't live without it. Whatever sound you have and you are happy with it just makes more of that. I did ask Wilson via email why their copy sounded so much better than other ones I had tried and the answer that I received was that they were using the Burr Brown IC in their version of the pedal.... take that for what it's worth, I'm just passing the information along, but I am absolutely convinced I can hear the difference.
+livingabovethe12th thanks for the tip! I just got my "Black Tooth Grin" yesterday, and I am very happy. I was originally fascinated by JHS Morning Glory demos on UA-cam... I was convinced I needed a Marshall Bluesbreaker-style pedal. I came across the Blues Crab as a cheap clone and finally settled on the Wilson BTG. It's got enhanced tweakability, looks the part and doesn't break the bank. Not quite as cheap as the Blues Crab but less than the Morning Glory and worth every penny!
I have 5 mooer pedals. All of them are excellent given their prices. The little Green Mile is even better than the Tube Screamer in my opinion. Why buying the expensive one when you can get the better one at lower price? On which pedal is this Blues Crab based?
Mike, great demo, as per usual! This particular pedal is supposed to be a clone of the 90s Marshall blues breaker pedal. In your opinion, does it nail those plexi/jtm45 glassy on the edge of break up tones or would it be wiser to check out something more like a wampler plexi drive or even the boss power stack? Also, does it preserve the guitar's natural tone, particularly the bass? Many thanks for all these great demos - best demos out there!!
Excellent review, and killer chops! The segment starting at 3:24 is my favorite. One question, if I may: Do you like the Blues Crab or the Blues Mood pedal better and why? Thanks!
Is Prymaxe going to get any of the Joyo pedals in to sell and have you demo them? Would also love to see the Akai Analog Custom Shop pedals get a demo by you.
I've come back to this video for a 3rd listen. I love the tones your getting with this pedal. Does the telecaster have stock pickups? Are you tracking ALL the parts your self? Luve the Drums-you do that too? It all sounds sweet and effortless a really great way to demo a pedal! I wish mooer pedals were a bit less $.
+Rafa Urrestarazu I tested them both out today, they sound pretty similar in my opninion (although I'm not really an expert). I ended up gettin the Blues Crab
Hi there, great reviews, i need to ask you a question, which is better for playing blues, this pedal or the blues mood from mooer? thanks for your time
Yhon Montes Whichever matches your style, but I'd prefer the Blues Mood or Rumble Drive for blues. Blues Crab for rock. There's a lot of crossover sound-wise tho.
Nice demo of yer playin....lol, pedal sounds great though. Too bad your amp sounds thin and your blue strat has the action way too low, lots of string buzz, meh. Waiting for my Crab atm....
It sounds super similar as they're both Blues Breaker clones. I'm getting one to go on my mini board as a replacement for my Morning Glory! The Morning Glory v4 has a red remote for higher gain setting but its personally way too harsh so might as well not even use it.
This is a great Pedal - a VERY GOOD Marshall Blues Breaker Clone.

Blues Crab is a MASTERPIECE.

Rick Kelly You and me both :)
They also sell some great gear at Prymaxe, good deals. I bought a Nemesis delay for $290
Does the tone control only affect the overdrive, or is it an overall control?
Great demo, but the real treat is just seeing this guy (Mike Hermans?) play. His fingers are just flying... effortlessly, without even breaking a sweat. He seems he could be playing like that even in his sleep. Fantastic.
Great sound, great playing. This pedal does not forgive anything ...
Every sizzling of the string, every misadjustment of the string action is heard...
I like this device. Thank you for this video.
I own several of these and I watch these to see Mr Mike's settings to find what I like :)
I have it for bluesy sounds and as a dirty booster after my main distortion. We call it now "The Chingonizer" (something like "Badass-er", but in Mexican slang). I use it mainly through a Strat, an Ibanez RG and a PRS, and I just love this pedal.
Bernardo Aguilar Chingonizer ! Jajajajaaja está buena esa jajaja
So if Mooer put two of these together, would you get a King of Crabs? :)
LOL. You might want to see a doctor about that.
You need a stronger antibiotic for that. Haha.
I put a blues crab with a blue sky...Now i got a "Crab Sky" (or a "Sky of Crab", I do not decided yet)
..... and a wonderful tone!
No a red lobster
I've been checking out these Mooer pedals via your demos for the last few hours (and am digging your Robben Ford-ish playing). I could eat the tone that the Tele's making in this video, so that it could forever be inside me. Nice, bro!
pure marshall bluesbreaker man, i got a clone of giannini and its the same sound, great for simulate the tube overdrive sounds and with the octavia

Love your very tasteful playing. Every effects pedal sounds great when you play.
Nice little pedal. Great playing and chops as well. Very nice Mike.
really great , the little Blues Crab pedal and your playing, congratulations !... :)
Sounds amazing on my fender blues deluxe using p90s h90s humbuggies and singer coils. It a sounds good. Get this pedal.
I'm running this first in front of all my other pedals now, just trying it out as first in line playing single coil pickup's Strat and Tele's
Interesting, I wasn't aware they were each based on a different circuit, but it makes sense now since they each sound a bit different. Thanks for the reply!
Nobody has ever hated on the brown sound, my friend.
Great demo as always. Best place to hear a pedal next to it being between ur guitar and amp. Thanks for the demos but thanks mostly for the music.
I really enjoy your demos even though I have a full pedal board (including a Mooer Pitch Box which I love.) But I really enjoy your tasteful playing most of all. Thanks so much - I'll keep watching and stealing all the technique I can!
Fantastic played and a great bluesy sound!!!
Amazing pedal! Very similar bluesbraker Marshall!
i bought it after this review.
i have this pedal and i agree, it really IS for blues.
Thanks for checking out our demos!
-Mike
Subtle and touch-sensitive. Cool.
perfect tone sound ballance and its pressence is quite modest not over done alltogether a nice pedal
My amp is solid state and does not break up and a bass amp to boot. I m gonna see if this will work.
Dude, all good. The 'brown sound' refers to Eddie Van Halen's tone in the 80's.
Thanks for checking out the demo. Strange name, but cool tones for sure
Thanks for the kind words!
-Mike
Thanks! Very kind of you!

Hoy compré este pedal, estoy muy feliz, es un gran patea-traseros \m/
Mine will be here soon... 😎👌

On which pedal is this Blues Crab based?
It's based on Marshall Bluesbreaker Mk.1
I'm liking these demo's better than Andy's over at PGS!!!
Sorry, I should've asked about the Green Mile as well. Which of the three is your favorite and why? Thanks!
Mike, great demo, as per usual! This particular pedal is supposed to be a clone of the 90s Marshall blues breaker pedal. is that tele a purple mirror paint job? its really killer, im jealous lol great playing as well :)
you're welcome, you are doing a great job in every video ! ... :)
Claudiu - Aeternum
Thanks!
-MIke
Strange name for a pedal! Sounds pretty good and transparent though..
The Crab is great! And tiny!
-Mike
I love that purple!
Is Prymaxe going to get any of the Joyo pedals in to sell and have you demo them? Would also love to see the Akai Analog Custom Shop pedals get a demo by you.
Marshall Blues Breaker
this pedal is good for rec studio and concerts?
Awesome.....
1:48. I didn't know the BluesCrab can add backing tracks.
Hi Andy, Is this pedal works great, if stacking with other Pedal
eq. with Pro co Rat/Ds-1 or other Distortion pedal
thanks
I've come back to this video for a 3rd listen. I love the tones your getting with this pedal.

I wish mooer pedals were a bit less $.
Marshall Bluesbreaker I
could you(will you) demo the VFE blues king with the same type off riffs ?
wich one is better, blues mood or blues crab of mooer
IMO Crab
It's the lights... lol Thanks for watching
-Mike
It's similar with ELH Soul Food???What's the difference? thanks you!!!excelente job!
+Rafa Urrestarazu I tested them both out today, they sound pretty similar in my opninion (although I'm not really an expert). I ended up gettin the Blues Crab
The Soul Food is supposed to be a Klon Centaur clone, this one mimics an old Marshall Bluesbraker
Bingo baby
Rafa Urrestarazu
Soul Food based on a Klon. Mooer based on a Bluesbreaker.
Both have their good points.
The blues mood is a bd-2 clone, where as the blues crab, is a blues breaker clone.
+Duke Ukulele Note that the Blues Mood has the keeley mod pre-installed as well.
+LincolnFStern if I'm more into mississipy blues which one would you recommend me?
+Yhon Montes Feel free to disagree but I'd say the green mile tubescreamer clone
Nice demo of yer playin....lol, pedal sounds great though. Too bad your amp sounds thin and your blue strat has the action way too low, lots of string buzz, meh. Waiting for my Crab atm....
Is It a tube amp?
what song play at 1:34 ?
4:59 - less Paul
Ha!
Anyone have this over the JHS Morning Glory? Really tempted to pick one up later hahaha
It sounds super similar as they're both Blues Breaker clones. I'm getting one to go on my mini board as a replacement for my Morning Glory! The Morning Glory v4 has a red remote for higher gain setting but its personally way too harsh so might as well not even use it.
Did you but this pedal?
ITS.
Sounds really blackface. Fender metallic crunch. Interesting.
eventually, you would shit it.
