My kitty Holly saved my life a couple of years ago. I had a blood clot in my lung I was unaware of. Holly woke me up one morning by slapping me in the face. She was already an alarm clock that woke me up right on time every day so I could get ready for work. But this was at least an hour early. Even though I had slept all night, I felt terrible. I thought I had allergies kicking up, so went by the doctor on the way to work for an allergy shot. Next thing I know, I'm in the intensive care unit. They told me if I had let it go another day, I would probably have died. My kitty saved my life. I hope I made hers more happy. She died a couple of weeks ago. My other cat, Ginger, who is a stray that moved onto my property has moved in with me now. He had been hanging around for a year or so, but I didn't let him in the house much because Holly would go ballistic. But now he's sleeping on me and purring every night. Which is nice, because he's helping keep my blood pressure down better than my stupid medication. God bless animals.
When I was in bed with a terrible migraine my girl was right by my side. When my brother came over with his dog, the dog was bouncing all over me in bed. The cat got up took a few steps towards her and meowed at her. Didn’t show any aggression or anything. The dog legged it away from me, the my cat just took her place by my side again. Bless her. She was protecting me from the dog as I was unwell
Dogs act tough but most know when to leave a cat alone. Need some catdogs in the world as would be even better😂😂 Hybrid that's tough and loyal as well as fast, cunning, and smart.
When my dad passed away in 2012, I was sitting on my couch, my mind and thoughts just a wreck. My cat got on the cushion next to me and put his paw on my arm and gave soft "mew" like "I'm here for you my hooman." He was such a good cat and miss him everyday 😢 The apartment I live in doesnt allow pets but there are a few cats that roam the neighborhood so I'll give them food, water and even made them a little hut with straw on the patio. Its nice to spoil some kitties again 🙂
I'm so sorry about your dad's passing It sounds like your cat was an incredible source of comfort during such a difficult time, offering you love and support in his own unique way. It's tough living in a place that doesn't allow pets, especially when you've experienced such strong bonds with animals in the past. But it's wonderful to hear how you've found a way to connect with and care for the neighborhood cats, providing them with food, water, and shelter. It's clear you have a lot of love to give, and these kitties are lucky to have someone like you looking out for them. 🐾💖
@@Feline_Fanatics Thank you, I appreciate that 🙂 Yea, I got my cat when he was a kitten and HE picked ME lol. When I brought him home, most cats are skittish and wont even leave the carrier for atleast a day. Not him tho, he was out in less than a minute, scoping out the place, coming with me to the fridge for a snack lol. He was my boy since then
Many years ago, my BF was chasing me through the apartment, tickling me. I was making squeaking noises, giggling. He got me down on the couch and I put a pillow over my face. Suddenly my BF stopped. Shocked, he looked at me and said, "Your scrawny old cat just rushed up to me, hissed and tried to scratch me. I could wring her neck." She was trying to protect me. Gave my cat much loving that day. RIP Pretty Eyes. I still miss you.
My dad likes to tell the story about how his cat Nikky woke him up once during a nightmare. I was only five or so when Nikky passed away, but from what I remember, he was a very loyal, protective kitty. He would follow us on walks until we got too far from home, and then he would go back to wait for us on the porch. He also once scared away a dog that had wandered into our yard.
I lost my beloved cat on May 10, 2022. I had a terrible migraine one time I had to take pain medication and lay on my couch. He climbed onto my back when I layed on the couch belly down. He was NOT light, mind you. Another time was in my school years, I had a dobie who was super excited and accidentally nipped my arm. I sat on the bed while my mother got some first aid. My cat climbed onto my bed and laid next to me and started purring. The dobie did come back later to lick my hand, he was sorry. Another time, I had a severe anxiety attack. This wasn't your typical nervous breakdown, it was full on I was consumed by fear with barely any motor function. Anyway, I sat on the couch to pray one time while my cat was napping. He woke up, climbed onto my lap, and started purring. Another time was he was laying on my lap while family was visiting me. My dobie was excited and had a habit of stomping my feet. He stomped my feet, AGAIN, that time and my cat got MAD at him. He was so sweet and protective, it was all the more heartbreaking when I had to put him to sleep that day...
My favorite cat of all time was a female calico cat that I named "FUZZY" . She was a stray that we would regularly feed . I f I called her by her name , she would respond by giving a gentle "meow" . If I put her on my chest , she would softly purr and knead me with her sharp claws . Sadly she caught a cat virus and died on the same day as my father . She died in 1977 and I still miss "FUZZY" !
We had planned to let our almost 10-year old son pick our next pet. We went to a local S.P.C.A. and a little American domestic shorthair, reached out to me, a recently retired 60+ year old, and I mean literally reached out to me. We took her out of her cube and she just hung around us/me. She is an American domestic (all white) shorthair, I named Snowball. That was January 2011, and Snowball is still with us. She was approximately 8 months old when we got her and now she is approaching 14 years old. BTW: if Snowball is awake, she is almost always purring!
That's such a heartwarming story about how Snowball chose you! 🐱❄️ It seems like Snowball knew right away that you were the one for her, reaching out to you like that. It sounds like she's not just a pet but a true member of your family. Here's to many more joyful years with Snowball! 🎉🐾💕
My two cats growing up would park themselves on the beds of me and my sisters. They liked to be with us, but at the time I never thought of them wanting to help protect us. I always thought they were being protected in our midst. Now Puff, the Maincoon, and Muffin the Siamese are in Heaven. They are great memories.
i will never forget the day when my boy kitty died.. I was sitting on the couch and was crying and i told my girl kitty Abby who i had adopted a few months earlier, that my boy is gone and is not coming back... Abby was sitting and looking at me and then she walked up to me and stood up on her hind legs and touched me so gently on my cheek with her paw and said meow. We are together for 9 years now and she is such an amazing kitty who has even welcomed two new kitties into our home and family.
Whenever I go outside, my cat insists on following me. If I go out without her, she'll sit by the door and will glare at me with a look that says, "Are you crazy? WTH were you thinking going out without protection"
Long, long ago...my dad would rage, loud tirade,... our small kitty would put herself in between him and us... and paw him (softly, gently)... he would melt, ...(RIP, our precious Miyo).... I've had more than a dozen cats (all rescues), all same, loving, would snuggle, never afraid, would love us....
I believe cats will also purr to calm/reassure themselves. I had to take mine to the vet after she was hit by a car, and the vet said she didn't move during a blood draw but purred. She also loved to get up on my chest and suckle my left armpit, soaking my shirt. I assume it was leftover nursing behavior, but my vet just said she's (cat) was messed up in the head. I got a different vet.
My wife and I got a MAINE COON CAT named JERRY from some neighbors who didn't want to care for him anymore . "JERRY" was a big cat that weighed 14.5 pounds . "JERRY" was not fat , he was just a big cat ! Everybody that ever saw "JERRY" would always say : "Look how big that cat is ! " I loved that cat for the time he was with us !
I adopted Ms Berta from the SPCA when she was one. She was run over by a car. About 7 families went to adopt her before I did, but she wouldnt leave her crate. When I sat down on the chair and just started to talk to her she came out and went to sleep on my lap. The volunteer told me that she picked me and that I was welcome to take her home. She hasn't left my side since she adopted me.
Our cat sits hear us almost all the time, unless he's outside - then it's "Go away, Mommy & Daddy! I'm outside!". And we do let them approach others (people and animals) at their own pace. Our kitty will come very close to other animals if Daddy is petting said other animal. He's even "nose bumped" and sniffed out our neighbor's standard poodle - and they like each other.
Perhaps one of the most impressive displays of cats protecting a human I've seen was in a video by a photographer in the African bush who was accepted by a family of wild Cheetahs with whom he lived for almost a year. During that year, while the cubs were maturing, the mom and two out four of them disappeared and probably had been killed. The two remaining mature cubs, when they heard anything threatening, would turn their backs on the human, facing outwards to meet it and obviously protecting him from harm. My own cat Juni (avatar photo), a Savannah, insists on checking out everyone who comes through my door and stays near by prowling back and forth between the visitors. It's friendly enough, but I see it as her keeping a close eye out for me. She is a dear companion with a bit of a wild nature (being part Serval) which suits the relationship we have quite well. Even some vets fear her breed because they can be quite aggressive.
My cats tend to stay away from each other but whenever I go on vacation I bring them to one of my brothers place. They sit right next to each other to comfort one another as they are in an unfamiliar space. They’re so close they’re touching. I find them that way when I leave and when I return. Good kitties ❤
A few years ago the plaster on the celing fell. It was right above where i sit. Both cats kept looking up at it, i couldn't figure out what was wrong. They warned me that something was wrong. Another time Betty heard someone wandering around my house, she was growing and was looking out the windows. And many other times for other things. There has been many cats who saved their human from danger. Take Tarra, a little tabby. She was outside with the familues little boy. The child was playing in the driveway. A neighbor dog got loose and attacked the boy, had the child by the leg. Tarra screamed and charged the dog and jumped on its back. The dog dropped the boy and ran off with the 7 pound cat chasing it. The boy had only a few holes on the leg. The cat was awarded a medal to honor her devotion and love for the boy. Also there has been cats jumping on a burglers face ripping it up. The criminal ran off went to the hospital and police arrested him. Cats do love their people and will protect them and when the person is sad or sick the cat will sit by rhem and purr. The purr is soothing and can lower blood pressure.
Years ago I had a hernia that made it impossible to walk upright. My physiotherapist came to my house (shout out to Dutch healtcare!). While I was lying on the floor, he was stretching my legs to a 90 degree angle. It was very painful and I made that known. My cat, who had been looking on from the safety of the bookcase, jumped down, stood on my belly and started hissing at the therapist. It was hilarious and cute at the same time.
My cats follow me around and do all these things. They all climb on my bed (up to 5 or 6 of them) and i have a Pile of Cats!! They love to sleep in a big pile, hug each other, smooch and groom. It is so cute and warm. They really love me and each other
Get a cat, or better still, get 2. They are sooooo funny. They will have you in stitches. Trust me. Some of the things that these 2 do crack me up & they are so affectionate. People who say cats are Aloof are talking crap & are people who have most likely never owned one.
I like it when he said the cat is just showing you love & respect. No what he should have said is, they are thinking " yo blackie, what's up simba? We better looker after this old git, because if anything happens to him, who's gonna feed us our purina 2 times a day? hehe lol
I have two cats. One is a "Street Smart" cat. The other is a "Home Body" cat. The street smart cat likes to raise her tail up and stand up on her hind legs, begging me to take her out for a walk. The Home Body cat welcomes me home if I am away long enough and kills any bugs that trespass into the home, followed by using them as hunting toys. Both cats have selective ownership since I provide the food and water where as my brother does not. In otherwords, The cat chooses the owner and it is never the other way around.

When I had surgery on my foot and spent a few days on the couch, my cats took turns laying on top of me, making sure I was OK. A When one needed to leave, another would take the spot within seconds.
As an Ex Armoured Infantry Officer of the Dutch Army,.. I Love You Brother,.. Watch you all the time!! You are doing a great job!! KEEP it up!! Greetings from the Netherlands!!! PS: I am READY for anything that comes to me!!
I was born in The Year of the Tiger, the daughter of a Tiger father. Both of us had/have uncanny ways with cats. There is a total of six month of my life I have lived without a cat and they were unbalanced and lacking. I work in the film industry and have had the rare gift to work with big cats. One day our production get a blast-o-gram email: 'PLEASE do not go out unless necessary -- avoid (list of areas) there is a live tiger working on set today.' (Immediate violation) "Well, hello there," says handler, "'See you're the only brave one. She's fine, really." I can 'speak cat' (probably with a terrible accent) ,Tigers have a unique greeting called a 'chuff' which I can mimic, I do this -- now I have both of their attention. To tell your cat 'I love you', slowly blink your eyes, if it's returned, sometimes with a lift of the chin, you are very loved. I got my eye blink ... from a tiger. Handler is backed off a bit and watching, "Who taught you that?" "Cats. I learned the chuff by listening to recordings, I also know about ultra sound (complicated, but tigers are the only cat confirmed to make this sound, it is beyond our range of hearing) "Tell me who you think she is." "Bengal, 3-4 years old and very bonded to you" "Come over here, I want you to meet her." I did, made sure to scrape a boot so she heard me, met her handler who had no idea why I wasn't working with animals in the Business and I spent ten minutes with a tiger who head bumped me. He handed me his card and told me to come out any time, "I have never seen her take to someone so fast. "Born a Tiger" "Ah HA! They know!" "Daughter of a Tiger" "Oh lord" "Many cats have passed through our lives, my father never owned a dog and we owned a ranch -- it was 'Beware of The Dad' out there." Had a moment of magic, the show execs were too astonished to fire me or something, wouldn't come near her and I got to be the Head Honcho, Tiger liaison that day. Your cat is incredibly intuitive, mine comes when I have cried over something emotionally distressing and will not leave me. He hates being cuddled, but "The Dude Abides" beside you. He knows several tricks in addition to 'sit', 'down' and 'stay'. He was ring bearer at our wedding (should have married cat) and also gave away the bride. Then hopped over and sat next to my brother. Brother is also can lover. He has nine photos of his sister's wedding, none of them have his sister in them. This is a great basic video, being loved and protected by a cat is rarer than you think. And OH do you know when it's dinner time, They are wonderful and eager to learn, they'll teach you as well, somewhere you meet in the middle.
My cat Sniffles chased two grown men out my apartment. I told them to leave him alone but Sniffles choose violence 😂. I loved him so much😢 rip Sniffles
Mine he knows me so well better than I know myself! I have bouts of anxiety and panic attacks every now and then! Which come on all of a sudden! I swear mine, has came and laid near me at times before any of them came on! I can be fine and he has came and laid right beside me then after a while anxiety or panic attack comes on! People use dogs or horse as support animals! They don't know cats are support animals! Mine is a mental and emotional support animal even when I don't know I need it!
My mother’s Siamese cats attacked 2 State Troopers that had come to her house because of a possible intruder. They also went after the mail carrier when he came up to my mother in the yard.
my black cat boy alerted me to an intruder trying to break in via the window the cat used to go in/out and we caught the bugger and subdue'd him till cops came, dont underestimate a cats ability to know right from wrong
Wow, that's an incredible story! It's amazing how intuitive and protective cats can be, often sensing things we might not immediately notice. It really goes to show that cats do have a keen sense of their environment and can indeed differentiate between the usual and the unusual, or in your case, right from wrong. I'm so glad he was there to alert you, helping to keep you safe. Cats truly are remarkable creatures with abilities and instincts that can sometimes take us by surprise. Cheers to your heroic black cat boy! 🐾
My kitty attacked the dog nextdoor that jumped the fence. 😅 When she's out with me the dog cowers near his door. Btw, she's 8 lbs. The dog is 60. She guards me at nite as well. I tell her good kitty everytime
I swear my kitten guards me. When I come out of the bathroom she I’ll be sitting outside, facing out, like guarding the door, she does the same when I in the kitchen
Going to the bathroom is a time a cat would be vulnerable to attack. I’ve often wondered if the following you into the bathroom is our cats’ way of standing guard over us while they feel we are vulnerable. When you get my cat would always meow before going to the litter pan, I wonder if that was her way of making sure I had her back.
Last year a theif snuck in my house and my tabby cat simba jumped up on the theifs face and his face was bleeding like crazy then i called the police and no one got hurt❤❤❤what would i do with out him

That's what i mean. That's why i love cats so unbelievable much. Always did and always will do.
look up the video where the cat ran out to protect a child from dog attack
There’s more than one 😊
Tara is the most famous.
That low moan means "it's on, pal.. bring it."
Funny but oh so true. 😏
The low moan is serious, real business is about to go down if things don't change.
The tell tale tail tells all.
From an exclamation point to a question mark!
PROTECT THE FOOD SOURCE!!!!
My cats follow me around and do all these things. They all climb on my bed (up to 5 or 6 of them) and i have a Pile of Cats!!
They love to sleep in a big pile, hug each other, smooch and groom. It is so cute and warm. They really love me and each other
When I was a teen, if I ever cried, my orange tabby Kali would come to my bed and lay with me. Every time without fail.
Damn it! As 💯% Team Dog fan, this channel is persuading me to the feline dark side. 🤣
Team Cat-Dog?
We have cookies! 😉
We better looker after this old
git, because if anything happens to him, who's gonna feed us our purina 2 times a day? hehe lol
Give in buddy. It’s the best kind of annoyance.
My cat use to pee on ppl I didnt like. and took full clawed swipe at someone who wouldn't leave him alone 😂
Siamese cats - known for their natural ferocious nature, were once kept by Emperors for protection
I have a guard kitty that protects me from the dogs when I'm in the shower.
There’s a lot a of context missing here.
Any see the video of a cat speed ramming a dog that was attacking a young boy? Cats DO protect people

@Lightning77305 yeah that video
@@blackoutone9797 It is a good one.
My cats run and hide when they sense danger, but hang out in whatever room we are in.
A cat that does the kneading thing or suckling can sometimes indicate a premature weaning of the kitten.
I like it when he said the cat is just showing you love & respect. No what he should have said is, they are thinking " yo blackie, what's up simba? We better look after the old

Cats also walk around the house every few hours, checking doors and windows, like little guards.
When I had surgery on my foot and spent a few days on the couch, my cats took turns laying on top of me, making sure I was OK. A When one needed to leave, another would take the spot within seconds.

My kitty is usually happy with tail up, but I was feeling very stressed and she looked worried with tail down, cats feel your distress and pain.
My Rockyboy has to be near me mostbof the time and sleeps with me ❤ ❤ ❤.
My mother’s Siamese cats attacked 2 State Troopers that had come to her house because of a possible intruder. They also went after the mail carrier when he came up to my mother in the yard.
WOW!
my black cat boy alerted me to an intruder trying to break in via the window the cat used to go in/out and we caught the bugger and subdue'd him till cops came, dont underestimate a cats ability to know right from wrong
One of my cats sleeps on my legs every night. Kneads my legs until she falls asleep. She is protecting me.
My kitty attacked the dog nextdoor that jumped the fence. 😅 When she's out with me the dog cowers near his door. Btw, she's 8 lbs. The dog is 60. She guards me at nite as well. I tell her good kitty everytime
It could also mean they about to attack you lol
I have three cats and when I'm sick I'll wake up with one on either side of my legs and the third on top of me.
I swear my kitten guards me. When I come out of the bathroom she I’ll be sitting outside, facing out, like guarding the door, she does the same when I in the kitchen
But why does he feel the need to follow me into the bathroom?
Going to the bathroom is a time a cat would be vulnerable to attack. I’ve often wondered if the following you into the bathroom is our cats’ way of standing guard over us while they feel we are vulnerable. When you get my cat would always meow before going to the litter pan, I wonder if that was her way of making sure I had her back.
I found my cat sylvester ,he was only 2 to 4 days old ,he hasnt learnt to purr ..should i be worried, also he uses the bathroom for his potty.
Last year a theif snuck in my house and my tabby cat simba jumped up on the theifs face and his face was bleeding like crazy then i called the police and no one got hurt❤❤❤what would i do with out him
There's a UA-cam video of a cat chading off a bear who'd enteted someone's backyard.
Song?
well if it's other cats, it's more of a territorial issue than providing protection.

It should be “ 10 SIGNS” not 10 SINGS!
10 Signs Your Cat Is PROTECTING You This is in the title.
Cats don't need. They make biscuits
dear Stan, afraid the title does say signs....
I thought Guardian Angels are protecting us!

Consult a vet? Why? So they can just recomened euthanize for the slightest problem? Like constipation?
A good vet would never do that.

10 Sings?! Seriously?!!

I still think a lot of this is still self preservation. Cats are not altruists period.
But cats DO own you
They're just protecting the provider of the food . If you should pass away take comfort your cat won't starve he'll snack on your eyes first .
What a side life yours must be 😅
just the truth . Ask a cop what happens to a corpse when left alone with cats for a few days @@sihr07
I've heard cops comment about cats but not dogs , perhaps dogs just wait longer . Should be easy to check with first responders .@@Blccat1376
