Bro.. just do it! I love species spot lights, the only reason I watched river monsters just for fish information so... DO IT JUST DO IT! DON'T LET YOUR DREAMS BE DREAMS! call the series Absolutely Fin-nomenal! (sorry for the copy paste of my main comment I'm just really proud of the name I came up with!)
As a fisherman in northern Australia I can attest to another super power of the scat, steeling fishermen's baits. I still love the little buggers though.
Joey always does a great job. Love his work and entertainment quality. I’ve been jealous of his tanks for years. As a college student I have to keep my hobby expenses to a minimum. But he is truly an inspiration for my future. Keep up the great work! 👍
Has to be the best channel on UA-cam. I love several others around this hobby, but the prep work/ knowledge, the rooms, the tanks, and last but not least --> the fish. All A+
... your, very learned, when it comes to fishkeeping..You, have a dynamic personality, your love for creatures, shows in your smile. You are Empathically, charged... keep going..
I don't remember when this happened, but can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Joey got himself a clip-on microphone? No more shouting in our ears haha😂
I love your videos man!!!! I just found you while watching videos because I just recently refilled my 55 gallon that has been empty for around 6 years. I'm back in the hobby and in love with it again. Every video of yours that shows your oscars just captivates me. They're AWESOME fish. I'm upgrading to a 125 gallon later this year hopefully and I think it's just going to be for a couple oscars. I've never had one but yours are absolutely awesome!!!
Love the video ! It showed how beautiful your fish are and interesting conversation ! Would love to see more of your fish , tanks and landscaping because you do have beautiful fish
thats so cool that they stick to the rocks like that!, i was wondering how the venomous spine would work, but if something has to try to scoop them off a rock like that they would get jabbed in their mouth before theyd get it off the rock. so cool. with the archers being able to corect refraction can see you really clearly through the glass , really interesting watching them react to you being up close.
I really like this style of video :D! I really like how you give interesting facts, while showing off high quality footage of the fish :). Then compliment it with some sort of action ( such as moving the scats ). I think you found the right formula :D!
Hi King of DIY. I am a new sub. I grew up raising African cichlids, oscars and other larger breed of fish. I am eager to get back into the industry. I am figuring out what I want to start with. Tank size and fish. I watch almost all of you guys. I love learning!!! Keep the knowledge coming. Thank You.
I recently bought 3 Uaru fry because of your advice, along with 4 Loaches. They are indeed masters of camouflage for now. I just can't wait to see them grow, mature and take on their adult forms. I love this episode and your frank thoughts.
Joey...1st off I LOVE your videos! 2nd I had a horrible day today. I lost my year old 24" arowana Obi~wana today and my pleco yesterday. He stopped eating & started acting weird about 2.5 weeks ago. The only change being a "National lighting" power box we are using? We had our water tested and my fish guy said it was pretty much perfect the ph and ammonia were a little off but we hadn't done his water change yet, but back to normal after the water change. We do water changes once a week. We had gotten a canister filter about 5 months ago and done two cleanings for them (not rinsing the media but the 2nd cleaning there was almost a black colored algae growing in the canister(not in the tank)) Our fish guy suggested checking the electrical current in the water. It was at 32 volts with the voltmeter. We couldn't figure out what was causing it. Then today we also checked my older tank with my Oscar and pleco in it. The meter read 37 volts... And they are doing fine? I'm at a loss. They were doing GREAT until 2.5 weeks ago and I want to continue and get another arowana but don't want a repeat because I don't know what caused Obi's death. He also was only on a pellet diet, no live food. Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hey Joey I really think a group of geophagus read head earth eaters. Or maybe the geophagus altifrons, or geophagus Willmari! Totally up to you but they have similar personalities, as to Oscar's and urau but with they're own twist. I truly think you will enjoy this peaceful species of cichlids, and on top of that I don't think you've ever done a video on these guys!! Thank you for reading joey!! P.s thanks for the plywood aquarium build videos!
I can’t take much more excitement . How are you doing ? You look like your really enjoying yourself, like you did about 5 years ago. Your finally doing what makes you happy and makes all your fans love what your doing. Love all your aquariums from the filters ,scape work ,and of course the fish .What a life you’ve got it made. Great kids and a very understanding Tamara . 🤗 😻 🦃 Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Don’t eat too much ,you have to keep that manly figure .🦃 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 😜
I wanted to add that chickens are similar in the competitive eating. When they're alone and injured it can be a bit tough sometimes to get them to eat. But add another healthy bird and the injured one will start eating to try and get for before the other bird eats it all.
Joey this entire room looks incredible, every tank is gorgeous and your dedication is absolutely commendable. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. 🙋♀️
Love your way of thinking ! :D My top 5 fish in this hobby apperance wise has to be 1. Arowana 2. Sting rays 3. Bichirs 4. Discus 5. Tiger oscars can look really really nice aswell! Currently have bichirs and oscars planning on getting discus soon aswell ( in another tank obv ) and then some day maybe a aro + stingray but atleast i have something to work towards so i cant complain ! :D
Hello Joey, nice video. Is the algae in the aquarium of archer fishes natural or artificial? If artificial u have to move all algea's way to same direction to light can better.
The orange puffer with white spots live in salt water? The scat (?!) it’s pretty cool. Didn’t know about this one. Can they thrive in fresh water? The archer tank is looking awesome!
Bro.. just do it! I love species spot lights, the only reason I watched river monsters just for fish information so... DO IT JUST DO IT! DON'T LET YOUR DREAMS BE DREAMS! call the series Absolutely Fin-nomenal!
Amazing/fun video. It totally pumps me up to go bigger. Awesome tank! I’m a black water biotope keeper stocking rare South America nano fish and some fish from Southeast Asia .
Oi Joey! Hope all is good! Do you happen to know if there is a database on all found and classified fish? I keep wanting to learn more of stingrays but sites usually have very poor ijnformation on then. i know the regular ones in the business but also got to know theres much more species that we never see in the hobby. Thanks and best regards Alex!
Asa in brakish water the salinity is changing all the time due to the tide coming in or going out, , are brakish water fish not very resisitant to salinity changes? IOW not so sensitive to changes as pure sea or pure fresh water fish?
That very true about getting the fish that are not eating or not looking great it just seems that they Perk up and There are natural instinct just kick in
You forgot to mention that the fahaka and other puffers as ambush predators can mimic the colors and patterns of their environment to camouflage themselves. That is a cool superpower!
LETS GOOOOOO!!! the podcast:.... for further disappointment: ua-cam.com/channels/kdBzH9qMCmnKhl59jqQ_RQ.html

See if you can find Knight gobies for this ... and maybe a pair of silver tipped sharks!
Joey always does a great job. Love his work and entertainment quality. I’ve been jealous of his tanks for years. As a college student I have to keep my hobby expenses to a minimum. But he is truly an inspiration for my future. Keep up the great work! 👍

When i was pulling the rocks, a couple suctioned to it. SOBs.... almost stung me.
I think that’s true of a lot of the fish that react to humans in such interactive ways,
You should add anableps to this tank as well! They are a great oddball brackish fish with really cool behaviors.
This man went from part time PVC cutter and plywood painter to full time PhD ichthyology professor in 10 years. What a dream career.
I really like this style of video :D!
I really like how you give interesting facts, while showing off high quality footage of the fish :). Then compliment it with some sort of action ( such as moving the scats ).

Shellies are master's of cuteness 😍
I feel like this would have been the intro monolog Joey would have used if the public gallery panned out. "All my fish have super powers" 😉
Right xD? Someday :)
you should do more videos like this! one of the main reasons why i love aquarium fish
I loved all the descriptions and facts! Fascinating considering I’ve kept a lot of those fish and never knew those details until now.

Scats are very common over here , you can find it in any nearby river, especially yellow spotted ones.
Great job👍
....... I've seen so many arowana, yet I have never notice their whiskers. Lmao

Hello Joey, nice video.
Is the algae in the aquarium of archer fishes natural or artificial? If artificial u have to move all algea's way to same direction to light can better.

The archer tank is looking awesome!

Have you thought of adding some small mangrove tree shoots? It could look super cool to see them swim through real roots

Thoses monos look amazing swimming around those sticks
I love the Monos, I can't wait to get another tank set up and keep some fish again.
Adding fish just to make it more amazing 🐟😃🙌
We have an amazing God to perfectly design all things.
Joey you have any tips for people who have high nitrates already out of the tap or how to deal with poor tap water
Reverse osmosis
Asa in brakish water the salinity is changing all the time due to the tide coming in or going out, , are brakish water fish not very resisitant to salinity changes? IOW not so sensitive to changes as pure sea or pure fresh water fish?
scats looking amazinggg
Does anyone have an opinion on bowfin? And Joey, have you ever worked with these fish?
Love this guy, although most of these things point to intelligent design 😬. Keep up the good work Joey.👍
Hi Joey they look amazing in that tank
Thats a really cool looking fish
What are you going to do when the frontosa eat the shell dwellers?
Hello from Ontario 🇨🇦👌
My home provence! Born in Guelph!!!
the scats are a really nice rust color, they are awesome
Most pupular predator of all time has to be a T.Rex though.
I love your videos ❤️
That very true about getting the fish that are not eating or not looking great it just seems that they Perk up and There are natural instinct just kick in
Loving your new tank
ditto
Nice setups
All these different beautiful fish shapes sizes and colors man cannot dream up this is such a beautiful demonstration of God’s creativity and majesty,
you should do a pleco tank, maybe with some zebra plecos, maybe phantom plecos or perhaps even royal plecos.
Did you treat for parasites? Since some Scats were emaciated.
Excited for the video
You forgot to mention that the fahaka and other puffers as ambush predators can mimic the colors and patterns of their environment to camouflage themselves. That is a cool superpower!
