I never forget the time I played the Crystal Edition on my Gameboy Color. The very first time I've battled Red gave me goosebumps. No sound, you just walk up to him, he doesn't say anything and then the epic music starts. Red is truly a legend
And his battle is difficult. (depending on how skilled you are of course) Mostly because he has your skill, you have to fight someone equal to you. The music represents an ultimate dual against Red. The fight being ontop of a literal MOUNTAIN makes it even more climactic, enough to send goosebumps. This is your final battle.
Wasn't really tough. 20 levels lower, in the OG GSC, and creamed him. Everyone I knew said the same thing. Hell, one time I had a couple of mons in the late 50s, and I took him down, like I took down Youngster Joey.
Gold/Silver/Crystal Red hits different for me. Since at that point we would never imagine we would face the very same iconic character we played in Gen 1 and a battle we were never prepared for at all. Was the best ever boss battle experience I had in a pokemon game, HG and SS were good but by this time we all knew Red was the endgame and was able to prepare for him and his pokemon other then the Lapras.
Or better makes Red totally can be defeated. All of his pokemon are on level 100. All if the pokemons being defeated with only one hit. But still, we win. And Red gives us some rare items and note for us to never give up. Simply just like that.
Gold/Ethan might have a strong bond with his pokemon than anybody from Johto, but Red's bond is so great, he doesn't need to talk for his pokemon to attack.
7:01 what i genuinely love so much about the beginning of this fight is how god damn amazing everything aligns. the original gen 2 pixel pokeball appearing before the battle starts, the intro to the song, red's lack of expression. perfect and one of the greatest moments in pokemon.

You go on to explore the region defeating Gym by Gym, training your Pokemon real hard. You have collected all the 16 Gym Badges, and you go to an entire new route. You reach to the entrance of a big mountain, you climb it. At the top, a chilly weather awaits you. You walk straight, not knowing what is waiting for you. Suddenly, you see someone familiar. All your training, your entire journey, your strength, your achievements..... Nothing is more important than this one single battle. Your entire hardwork depends on this battle Pkmn Trainer Red wants to battle!
Pokémon trainer Red has been around since 1996 became a hero after that he became know as the living Legend of the Kanto region a true Pokémon Master indeed.
After all those years and games with all new protagonists out there, Red is still the most iconic and recognized pokemon trainer. It's all started with him.
Well it's true that Red is the one that completed our childhood but lets not forget that when fighting Red, he's holding back, you can see it, if He cought all 151 Pokémon means that he also cought Mewtwo, if he really did, why didn't he use Mewtwo who can beat all our Pokémons and took almost all of our ultra balls just to be caught, that just means, Red wanted us Gamers to grow strong and move on, we can always comeback to Red and have journey with him if we ever get interested in doing something like that Again, and catch all 300+ Pokémon in Gen 1, Gen 2, and Gen 3 with Red as our PARTNER...
Gen 2 and 5 were the best, they didn’t worry on the terrain as much which made it look better and feel more like a puzzle, unlike these games where the road to the Pokémon league is a straight line ie sun and moon onwards
My favorite video of fighting Red. The trainer didnt overmax his pokemon to 1 hit ko red and is giving us a an enjoyable challenge to watch. Thanks man
My god I remember being so excited to see this guy on mt.silver because at the time I was playing blind and hadn't even guessed there was such a secret battle. I was expecting a legendary but got this guy. At the time I was running my elite four team just exploring so I had like Feraligator, Pidgeot, Raichu, Suicune, Golbat, and Furret. Not sure what my reasoning was on furret but I remember my team was in early to mid 60s and I opened up with Feraligator at 65 when I saw that stupidly high leveled Pikachu and my first thought is "oh god I am about to die" Keep in mind that my Feraligator at this point was mostly an HM pokemon because I was rather dull back then. So here I go figuring that I will try to get strength off if his speed doesn't allow a 1hko when the best thing happens. Pikachu goes for the charm and I one hit it. At this point I wonder how the hell my nearly 20 level lower pokemon managed such a thing but if I remember correctly that generation had troubles in the stats department and if you had a pokemon grind enough it could get disproportionately powerful for the same level. Now the opening was great but in the end the whole thing worked out well and I got my win on the first try despite there being some pretty close battles. Ironically Suicune did the worst. At this point I realize that the reason I had done so well with lower levels is that I had nearly all of my team from super early in the game and never switched out so it lead me to having stupidly strong pokemon to eek out a win. I remember being so pumped and remembering all the fun I had playing the first gen all while that somewhat sad credit scene plays out. For me this was one of the moments I treasure in pokemon media.

I was 8, been a while since I completed the elite four of the game. I was just adventuring around this place called Mt. Silver. It had very strong Pokemon and usefull items. I'm just going upper and upper... Until suddently I find this desolated part. It was very silent. I first thought, maybe a legendary Pokemon? I keep going up with Typhlosion by my side... And then, I saw him. He weared red, and was looking north. I press A to see what he has to say... And the only thing I get are... dots? The music beggins, My heart starts pounding so fast. I dunno who this is... But if he wants a fight, he whil get it.
Pablo Iriqui Smae, my first is Gold ver. So i never who Red is and when i dot dot.. I was like "what is wrong with him? " Then i get surprised by lv 75+ Pokemon battle
I always thought reds team should have always been Charizard , Lapras, Scyther, Persian , Jolteon and Dodrio as that was the very first team that was used to clear a Pokemon game as the creator himself used it during his first play through of red. This is a nod to Pokemon origins as well. I get having the three starter plus pikachu team. But it would be nice if they mixed red team up.
Gen 1 & 2s sprites. Theres just something about them. The expression, stance and and poise that manage to turn a 14(?) year-old kid into an iconic entity with more presence and menace than even Giovanni that the newer gens simply dont have.
A concept I made for Scarlet and Violet: as the final battle of the game you walk into a stadium where Red is waiting and a mix of the Gold/Silver and Heart Gold/Soul Silver versions of his theme play at the same time and right when you start the battle, you see that he has evolved his Pikachu into Raichu and after you have taken down all of his Pokémon except for Charizard he will Terastalize his Charizard into a Dragon type securing the ultimate final battle...

I like how Blue is a loudmouth, and Red is a silent badass
Red: Finally, a worthy opponent. Our battle will be legendary!

I remember facing Red. As someone who played FireRed throughout their childhood it definitely sparked some memories.
Dissapointing in let’s go for not having reds theme
Tbh let's go and newer Pokemon games are more kid friendly, that's why it doesn't have the intimidating red's theme.
@@johnt3606 they managed to make the theme less intimidating in SM/USUM. They could have made something similiar or even used the same theme for Let's Go.
_4kt. Venom They didn’t have blues theme either which is a massive shame
@@marleymol3610 They did have blues theme in Lets go but they gave it to that puny little kid "Friendly Rival".
Nice reference
Always battle red on set Pokémon option. Makes it more intense.
I always play on set option
Red on let's go doesn't look as good like HG/SS or SM
True and he has not the original theme song
He's dressed in his gen 1 outfit. It's the same as Gold and Silver too.
@@youngster_joey but SM improved on his design to make him look older. Let's Go only cares about nostalgia.
@@Nutshaq No.
@@scottchaison1001 yes. You're nostalgia blinded
Judging off the anime special, it's crazy how he goes from being the most novice trainer ever to being known as the legendary trainer. What a glow up.
Imagine you’re in a battle, and Red pulls out his ultra secret move:
*Using revives on Pokemon*
"Don't dot dot me!"
Pkmn trainer Red wants to tango!
...you should really...visit your mom...sometimes
...!
EVERYTHING I DID WAS YOUR SLOPPY SECONDS
Nice reference
Pikachu used CHARM
Godzilla attack's sharply fell!
Godzilla used EARTHQUAKE
Pikachu fainted!
SOMEHOW IT SEEMS FAMILIAR TO ME...
And pikachus a boy using charm on a boy Tyranitar :D
I don't understand
Well it somehow remembers me of the expression "a morena tentou me iludir"
But now i thought something worse
WHY
I actually watched an animation about gold vs red and gold have sent a tyranitar...
@@Sruntik5130 it's just a joke :(
That shiny tyranitar in the beginning is BEAST!
You are challenged by battle legend Red.
DEAR GOD THAT SENTENCE SENT CHILLS DOWN MY SPINE
Every song in white two and black 2 is so peak 16:13 even the low hp one 😭
I absolutely agree! Every song is a masterpiece
*The Master Trainer Pokemon Has Return!*
Bruh, the "pokemon" should come before "trainer".
I might be Strange... But i love the B2W2 soundfront and Battle
I like it too it s my favorite and I

"RUUUUN ITS GODZILLA"
"It looks like Godzilla but due to international copywright laws it's not"
"STILL WE SHOULD RUN LIKE IT IS GODZILLA"
"though it's not"
In pokemon go I named it Godzilla...... this is the part you run
Let this sink in:
Red hasn't had his proper battle theme since Black 2 & White 2, and he had the wrong team in Let's Go.
Pokemon Company: You have met Legendary Pokemon , now meet a trainer who is a legend
Did anyone actually battle Blue?I feel like 90% or more people picked Red lol
Me, it's actually more difficult
u can battle blue?
@@alexander18ism in sun and moon
I picked Blue. Didn't wanted to fight my *past* *self*
Lil Shenron I battled blue
"Oh look, another protag. Just take the money already. Jeez why don't they have any of you guys be final battles?"
If they ever remake this game for the switch, please leave red as strong as he was in the originals or even stronger, he is a legend, and deserves to have powerful Pokémon, and let’s not forget.. his badass (scary) theme song :).
i like how as soon as you send in your pokemon the music starts getting more tense
I like how Red stayed on one region and stayed at Mt. Silver for 3 years and actually grows up while Ash travels to another region his pokemons released except for pikachu amd forgets every thing he learns

Smae, my first is Gold ver. So i never who Red is and when i dot dot.. I was like "what is wrong with him? " Then i get surprised by lv 75+ Pokemon battle
This was just dumb
That grammar tho.

Red. The Pokemon King.

Gold the Pokemon Prince

what compelling dialogue. brings a tear to my eye
Can we all agree that Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 are just absolutely outstanding?
No
Not all of us can, although it's true
Red is one of my favorites because if you beat him at the battle tree and talk to him after in US/UM he will give something cool ;)
0:30 man that one-shot on the lvl 81 pikachu felt good
That's because ground type moves like Earthquake are super effective against electric types like Pikachu

in older gen. His sprite give so much mysterious vibe and you know that the guy is serious about winning
No one more asking about shiny draginite GOOD JOB 😁
I think we can all Agree HgSS was the most epic.
Yup. Especially that battle theme.
Red: Yare yare daze...
Jotaro: Are we related?
Red: show his Joestar's star on the neck.
Jotaro: allright. follow me, we must defeat Dio

But it would be nice if they mixed red team up.
when i win the first time against him was on my first try. that day i never forget for the rest of my life. that feeling was legendary.
Gen 1 & 2s sprites. Theres just something about them.
The expression, stance and and poise that manage to turn a 14(?) year-old kid into an iconic entity with more presence and menace than even Giovanni that the newer gens simply dont have.
Pokemon Trainer Red hgss is the best

@@zadatops de hecho le dieron muy buena fuerza en Black and White 2. Y si te descuidas, en HeartGold y SoulSilver te puede poner en problemas
It’s unreal how much better old Pokémon games look compared to new
A concept I made for Scarlet and Violet: as the final battle of the game you walk into a stadium where Red is waiting and a mix of the Gold/Silver and Heart Gold/Soul Silver versions of his theme play at the same time and right when you start the battle, you see that he has evolved his Pikachu into Raichu and after you have taken down all of his Pokémon except for Charizard he will Terastalize his Charizard into a Dragon type securing the ultimate final battle...
I remember spending a few days grinding a Larvitar in Heartgold
And it was so worth it
It pretty much was the MVP of my team
Sucks I had to wait till the end of the game to get it though
Who is faster: Pidgeot using a quick attack
Who really is faster: Lapras using an ice type attack
Ice shard has more priority than quick attack. Projectiles can be just as fast as a tackle
I love how even the 2d 8bit theme is a bop too if not more of a bop
The super effective hit sound always sounded so satisfying.
I prefer the Gen 7 Red because he feels so mature and grown up, and I love his design. Plus his theme is the absolute best.
