    That seems like the most overly complicated way to mount a carburetor I've ever seen. You make it look easy, I doubt it went that smooth the first time you did one

      You are correct, there was a lot of head scratching going on during that first one.

      Husqvarna is a Swedish company, headquartered in Stockholm - which is not far from the Arctic Circle. During those long, long dark winter nights, they have nothing better to do than dream up ways to torture the rest of the world. Witness Ikea, for example, another Swedish company, responsible for more hours of human frustration and misery than can even be counted.

    our k770 just stopped working and now im scrounging the internet to see what i can find. i pulled the cord and it does a partial rev up like it wants to go but than it just stops or it backfires. any suggestions you could give me that you think it could be just based off that pretty please. Im not a mechanic in the slightest but willing to try to do somethnig other than buying a new expensive saw. Your video is super helpful in seeing how it all works so thank you for posting this

      What you describe sounds like either a decompression valve that isn't closing on that first pop or a bad ignition module. Thats my best internet guess although there are other possibilities like water in fuel or an air leak.

    Great info in this video. I have a K760 that wont prime. Would this be the diaphragm in the carb?

    • @TheGreasyShopRag
      @TheGreasyShopRag  7 місяців тому

      It could be but it could also be a plugged micro screen or bad main nozzle check valve in the carb, a holed, disconnected or pinched fuel line, a plugged fuel filter or the bulb itself.

      Its pretty difficult to diagnose these types of problems online. It could be as simple as a fuel line that came off or as complicated as a sheared flywheel key or bad crank seal.

    I'm going to guess that "they" shot the parts cannon at it in the way of air filters before you got it. Kinda clean for a concrete saw. I had to grin when I saw you wipe that gasket on the rag, I'm guilty of doing that too. 😉

      I only did what you see in the video. This and a few other contractors we work with have their own mechanics. I think most of those guys are more at home around a dump truck or skid loader. 2 strokes are still a mystery.

    Hi do you know why my concrete saw smells like burnt rubber? I think the blade touches the blade guard.

    Hello. I am going to try and work on a 770 this weekend. It shuts off when you try to make a side cut, then does not want to start backup for a few minutes. Any ideas or information that you can give me would be very helpful.

      My first thought would be to look at the fuel filter to see which way its oriented during your side cut.

    I have a Husqvarna lawn mower Nd chainsaw. Looking to add a weed eater, blower, edger to my home lawn equipment. I would like to stay with Husqvarna products. Are they a good one to stay with or would you recommend a different company? I do not mind making an investment in quality products.

      Husqvarna makes home owner and pro grade equipment. Obviously the home owner grade stuff can be janky but usually it holds up well when properly used and maintained. Look at the numbering system they use. "1" series equipment is home owner as in 125b handheld blower or 129 string trimmer. "4" series equipment such as the 450 rancher chainsaw is farmer grade. That is its built to last a bit longer. "5" series is pro grade like a 550xp chainsaw. FYI "3" series used to be the pro grade stuff.
      Another way to compare relative quality of engines is to look at the emissions compliance period sticker. The unit with a 300 hour compliance is probably more durable than the one rated at 50 hours. Finally, and I tell this to customers all the time, find a dealer you can rely on. If that dealer is reputable and stands behind his equipment then don't be concerned buying that brand. Hope this helps.

    Since I'm forever 12 years old, I thought "what is he fuzzing out? oh, contact information." I don't work on that stuff, so i don't know what kind of options they have......

      Ya when I asked the boss if he had a problem with me making videos his only concern was customer privacy. I hang the camera in the morning and push the button when I want to record. I get a lot of content but its limited to the bench (pretty much). I spend a lot of time editing audio like saving benchtop noises but eliminating f-bombs from across the room.
