Yes!!! And unless this is sped up, it's about at least a whole step higher!
The voice and guitar chord shapes are already there not to mention the infectious energy but it's a great tune that any band would kill to have written. I miss seeing live bands in their formative years who were clearly about to go onto bigger things.

We've met before, in Dallas on this tour. You and the band were late and I was doing the drum soundcheck. Later in the lobby, I sat in while you were being interviewed. As crew at the hall, I honestly didn't have big expectations of you and the band being as good as you were. They did a lot of up and coming artist's, but you all brought it in Spades. I still get grump for going big on KATW, but I'll stand behind it. You don't have to re-invent the wheel to make people feel good.

It sounds different
I was around when that song was released. I thought the energy was fabulous. And Katrina certainly has a big voice. Many of my contemporaries, who were aficionados of “serious rock” ridiculed if for being some lightweight pop song. Well it certainly has had legs. And I’m glad it’s had so much success.

This was actually released in 1985.
This was actually released in 1983. The original album was self produced and only picked up by a Canadian Record company (Attic Records) in 1983. It has this version without the horns that became the big hit two years later.
