Your very conscience proves a creator. The morals (standards of knowing right from wrong) of your heart that are common to all humans no matter where or how they live are the same. I'm not talking about culture, or personal agendas here. An atheist and a Jew has these same common morals that a Hindu has. A rapist, a murderer, a terrorist also all have these same morals built into their hearts, which makes them guilty when they do wrong. Why is it that tribes in South America who never had contact with any other people for hundreds of years are known to be fundamentally identical in the way they love their fellow man, like the invaders who came in and took over, do? That is part of the image of our Creator. It is also fundamentally common to have the same repetitive sins in each culture.
If there is no Creator, or higher power, then what difference does a rock on another planet have with your brain. None, except the types of molecules that make up each, according to evolution. Then how is it that you want to seek the face of something higher, you being the same as a rock.
To struggle with the concept of God is a relative position, founded in relative truth. Yet, that is in itself an absolute truth to the person who is struggling. But, for another person who knows in their heart that God is real, they are also using relative truth, yet absolute to themselves. Relative truth means that your truth and my truth can be opposing, but true to the person who holds it. That contradicts any relative truth, because really they are personal absolute truths.
Take the common standards that all humans adhere to. Where did those standards come from? Not evolution. In evolution each is for itself and survival means whatever truth will protect that creature is the truth that is dominate. Therefore, evolution cannot put common truths in each person, because that contradicts the dominating truths used for survival, and there would be no person alive past a million years ago.
Absolute Truth in its fullest form comes from intelligence. Man has intelligence, but you or I cannot put that common absolute Truth in a person who grew up by themselves amongst wolves in the jungle since being a baby. Those stories are real. Those people when discovered were moral humans, whereas the wolves that raised them do not have human morals. Only a HIGHER intelligence can pass on those morals to each person.
Pray for God to reveal His Truth to your mind. Stop doubting the One who has been calling you since before you were born.

This is a very good explanation of the different philosophies underlying the observers. If the observer goes to the Atheist church then he sees things through the lens that teaches "Rocks are our creator god". Whenever he sees carbon, methane, water, etc. he exclaims "Aha! The building blocks of life!" His excitement stems from his religious training, which says, "If we can find extraterrestrial life then that proves that rocks are our creator god." It's a very religious atmosphere among Atheists.
Certainly, it doesn't prove that but that's the case the Atheist wants to make.

Never has a single atheist said that rocks are our creator. We merely say that there is no evidence to justify belief in the existence of a creator deity.
@@stevepierce6467 - What is said and what is taught and learned can be different things. Many preachers say that a man is justified by faith but what they teach and what is learned is justification by works.
"Building blocks of life" teaches that life can arise from mere minerals, amino acids, electricity, etc. Nobody says, "Minerals create life" but that's what gets taught. That's what gets learned.
Atheism teaches that we have a creator and that creator is an inanimate object. When you get into the realm of creation, you enter the realm of religion. Science cannot demonstrate that life comes from non-life but it's a theology that is widely held and jealously guarded. It has the look and feel of religion. In other words, it quacks like a duck.

When I was a small child, my mom and dad told me that God created everything and that he could see everything I do or think. And when I was in high school my dad was my physics teacher. I absolutely love this series and cannot watch it enough. I only pray that God would find me worthy of being one of his children. I love everyone that believes in God and I'm trying to love even those who do not.

Why would the heavens NOT declare God and His Devine Will? How was EVERYTHING created? By His Word. The heavens and all we can and cannot see or perceive... ALL of it is God's Word made manifest. Astronomers and other scientists are merely translating God's Word. And just like with the written Bible there are good translations and bad ones. Our discernment of this is all important.

One of the things I struggle with is what to do with the words "natural" and "supernatural." On the one hand, the presence of God seems very natural to me. The infinite power of God and the infinite wisdom of God both make perfect sense to me and seem quite natural to me. In my heart, I expect God. I would be quite surprised if I were to somehow discover that there is no God. The existence and nature of God seem to me quite natural.
On the other hand, as I observe the universe, from galactic clusters to sub-nuclear particles, everything seems designed, everything seems to have purpose, everything seems created and therefore there is nothing that is natural. It is all artificial and behind it all is the Creator God who has done all things with intentionality. If by "natural," you mean by simple chance without the intervention of an intelligent agent, there is nothing in the universe that meets that description.
So, yeah - I struggle with both of those two words. They seem to me as things that come out of the minds of godless men and don't at all fit in my Christian worldview. I suppose the only thing "natural" in the universe is God Himself. He is exactly what we should expect and He certainly is not an artifact. Everything else in the universe ultimately has God as its source and is therefore artificial. God is natural. Everything else is artificial. There is no "supernatural."
I think to begin you need to understand that anything "natural" is confined to our universe. Therefore, any source not confined to our universe is "supernatural" though that comes with baggage. I prefer to call it "extra-natural"
We could define anything that can exist and anything that has reason to exist as a natural existence but that would conflict with those that call themselves "naturalists." It would just confuse the issue.

I think my point is that language is man's perspective. We have no clue how God would communicate, much less what His language would be. Therefore, we are generally going to describe these words from our perspective, especially when there are many that wouldn't even believe God exists to accept your take on things. I think your thought process works great during a coffee table discussion where we can flesh out our meanings but in a conversation with others, outside your circle, it would just confuse the issue.
Creation and evolution not compatible.
God did create everything and all creatures with a determined path. This is why the fall is called the fall. We fell from the determined path. If God never had a determined path for us, then what could we fall from?
"And God saw that it was very good" then mankind fell.
If, evolution was a tool used by God, then since earth would be the only determined planet for evolution to bring about all that we see today, and because aliens are not in God's creation due to man only being made in God's image, then are we not determined to follow a certain path in the will of God. That thought is self defeating.

The big bang theory came from Georges Lemaître, a Belgian cosmologist and Catholic priest. He never came away from the fact that God created the universe and everything in it. But as Jesus spoke in parables, Moses who wrote genesis, with the holy spirit IE God. Ever tried explaining a complex theory to a person like Moses, in that time in history. He could never understand it. So it was given to him in a simple way that he could understand. Science shows that this world was made by God it didn't just happen. God is outside our "time" he is infinite.
I personally believe , that it is not to be taken literally but the main points of truth are in the story of creation. God is the master ordinator. It is a simple way to explain to a simple man, Moses, the way God created the world.
I believe the more man knows science the more we can see God , although science and the bible are separate. Our God is a great God.

It is dependant only upon your recognition of being a sinner saved by grace through faith in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus on your behalf. It wasn't until barely 100 years ago that we finally realized that our galaxy was not the whole universe. The universe, and especially life, are too complex to have come into existence randomly.
How about this: the universe and life are so complex because they came into existence randomly. This is apparent since so many of the complexities are in conflict with each other; for example complex germs vs. complex animals and plants. Or perhaps complex geological formations vs. complex human settlements (earthquakes and volcanoes).
Kepler Galileo and even Isaac Newton who was a virtual Bible scholar where the founders of modern science and intellectual thought and the universe they laid the groundwork the foundation and the principles that declare the heavens as God has declared before any atheist or secularist because the very Venture into space and understanding of the heavenly bodies it's impetus it's origin we're in men of Faith who came from the understanding that the heavens declare the work of God it was by the efforts of these men of God who laid out the argument and the evidence of God's handiwork and the constellations that looked beyond that weren't looking at a statue like the Greeks they weren't looking at Poseidon or Zeus or things that were cut by man's hand to worship they were looking at the very thing that was the representation of God and worship the god that created these heavenly bodies isn't it interesting that Martin science is not even predicated on the original sourcing of the men of faith of science who actually invented science

These people, Young Earth Creation believers, start from the wrong premise that Genesis creation story should be read literally. Fact of the matter is that it should not be read literally. For example, is the serpent that talked with Eve a literal reptile snake?
It makes more sense than believing two pieces of matter (that somehow just existed ), slamming into each other in a universe (that somehow just existed) made a spark that turned into all the plants, animals and people that exist on this planet. Yeah, that makes so much sense. It is way more likely that a tornado will go thru a Boeing plant and throw everything up into the air and when it all comes back down it is a fully functioning 747 complete with passengers and a pilot!

Those pictures are CGI. You have missed the mark. There is nothing in Gen 1 about a "universe." We live in a closed system. "Face of the deap" flat. Scripture also describes earth as a compass, flat.
Thats because Genesis is only speaking of the creation of EARTH, not the universe. Its basic reading comprehension and context. The Bible doesnt need to say "universe" because the writer, who was Moses, assumes that we can clearly look into the sky at night and see that Earth isnt the only thing God has ever made in space. (Back then, they could literally see the universe at night because there wasnt as much light pollution as we have today, so the sky was such clearer at night. So they could see the stars, galaxies, and planets) The author assumes were not idiots. Also, there is a scripture in the Bible that calls the earth a "circle", which many translate to the same word as sphere. Either way, if you have eyeballs, you can clearly see that the earth isn't flat. I dont even know how people still believe this when we have literal pictures of the planet.

The universe of the heavens far outweighs the universe of life.
So far i have found no one who has figured out Genesis 1 but me.... No pastors no physicists etc. It's very simple..and seeing it properly makes all the other verses about the universe make sense. Ok.... It's so simple, easy enough to draw, start with Gen 1:2 and draw a circle, that is the dark deep water, a sphere...let there be light, is the first Day... Then He separates the water above from the water below, creating a firmament He calls Night, our universe..leaving a dot of water in the center of the Firmament. Having separated Day from Night.. then He completes the earth making the water gather together and the dry land appear. Etc. Then He makes the stars and sun and moon and rotation for day and night on the earth. When i got done with the picture it looked like an eyeball, the pupil our universe of Night, the Iris like the water that surrounds our universe, and the whites of our eyes is topside where God's universe of Day is. He made the earth out of water, the water was here first. See my picture here on my comment? That is my picture of the eye that i drew.. remember in Revelation chap 4 it says God's throne sits on what looks like a sea of glass clear as crystal...that's on top of the waters above, that is above the water below, our earth. Our universe is in what would look like a giant bubble. Our universe is surrounded by water...the end of the universe is a wall of water, pitch black..like a black mirror reflecting everything in it, so we will never see the end of the universe because it's an optical illusion, like when you stand between two mirrors and it reflects like infinity. When the heavens disappear like a scroll, it's when the water above closes down over the universe and all the stars disappear, leaving only a full moon blood red because the lake of fire glows bright orange and reflects back to the lake as blood red...so hell, the earth having melted with fervent heat, the lake of fire, the abyss will have a full blood red moon orbiting around it for eternity...the moon is full 24/7 because the only light reflected on it is from the earth/lake of fire and all the stars are gone, no more sun....a place completely forgotten by us who have been saved by the Word of God. Think about it...i believe this picture is truly what the Scriptures have revealed..

I don't think that Genesis Chs 1/2 are all about Creation. Yes, Creation is mentioned, but the main point of Ch 1 is to tell us about how God prepared the earth for mankind. It is not concerned with those things that have no direct relevance to mankind; that is why the earth's early history does not figure very much.
Forinstance we are not told where the water came from, nor how the atmosphere was formed; there is no mention of earth's early life, or even the much later forms such as dinosaurs etc. Why? Because the focus is on the creation of Man in verse 26 and following.
In Ch 2 we learn that Adam was formed, not created, and that Eve was also formed afterwards from a body part taken out of Adam.
What is usually overlooked is the importance of the declaration that God rested from all the work that he Created AND Made. Adam and Eve were both MADE, they were not Created.
There is a whole lot more to Genesis than is generally understood.

I don't understand the point you are trying to make, but it sounds like you are trying to make an argument for an old age of the Earth.
I also don't understand the distinction you are trying to make between the words made, formed and created. Whatever the point you are trying to make is, you are quite wrong about what the Bible says. All three words were used and it couldn't be made any more clear what was being described.

As far as where the water came from. God didn't tell us how He made anything. only that He spoke and it was so. Do you imagine that you would understand even if He tried to explain such a thing to you?
No one says that you have to believe the Bible literally, or ay all, but whether you believe it or not, don't misrepresent what it clearly says.

It's only 'clear' to people who want to see it in a particular way. It's not that I am making any distinction, the words are there in the text... and in Scripture, nothing is written without there being a reason for it.
Hence, when the text says that God Created AND Made, isn't it 'clear' that while some things were Created, there were other things that were Made?
So what's the difference? To me, 'Created', means to bring into being that which had not previously existed, whereas 'Made', means to use that which had been 'Created' in order to 'Form' something else.
Verse 1 speaks of the creation of the heavens and the earth, in other words, time, space and matter, everything afterwards came from this. However, whenever a new thing was brought into being, it was 'Created', but variations of that creation were 'Made'.
If you couldn't see the point of my first comment, I don't think you'll be able to see what I'm getting at in this comment, so I don't think I should continue further.
As I have already said, there is a whole lot more to Genesis than is generally understood.

Where does Bible say the earth is rotating and orbiting or that gravity exist? Just a question to my christian brothers and sisters. We disprove evolution by scripture yet we agree with evolution when it comes to 1000 mph rotating earth, 67000 mph earth rotation around the sun and over 500000 mph solar system orbiting around milky way?
Nothing comes from nothing, but something comes from something.....I believe somebody way powerful than our human minds can comprehend created this whole body we called universe.. things are mathematically in order so much so, not a fraction of an inch was left out..
Since the universe is 14 billion years old, why would God have been in a rush ?.. and choose to create every creature from dust, within just 6 x 24 hr, earth- measurement periods...and then all this rush, only to chill and be cool about the next 20 k years + ?
I have a simple question. There is no question that God is the God of creation. God is the Creator of life and knows us individually. But, it seems to me to limit God to take the view that God created the whole of the Universe at the time of our creation. Why would you take that view as a creationist believer? God is infinite, he has no beginning and no end. The universe is unimaginably large. If it were all made at the time of Genesis creation, you would put God in an infinite box. Where was God before our creation? Do you limit the other inhabitants of the universe to our same point of creation? It is laughable that the atheist mourns the wonder of trying to find other inhabitants if not just the presence of other life that they have to create science fiction to pollute the beauty, and the simplicity of who God is. If you read the first verse of the chapter ( and the entire chapter ), you will see it is speaking about wisdom, not man.

Claiming that the biblical verse "stretching out the heavens like a tent" is a scientific description of the creation of the universe is nonsense. This is an isolated text within the bible and is simply a poetic description of the heavens that is a very natural expression by people familiar with erecting and living in tents.
There is no need to twist or misapply scripture to affirm the truths of creation, God, or discoveries of nature.
Its an analogy. As one stretches out the corners of the tent while they pitch it, so God stretches out the heavens in its own way. Its an analogy, not a scientific statement. The importance of the verse isn't in it being a scientific statement but that it conforms to the same colloquially sayings we use today about how the universe expanded.

@@blusheep2 Since the stars and moon travel across the sky at night, it seems as if the heavens are stretched across the sky as well as having the encompassing feeling that a desert tent has.
However in context, it is more than a bit rich to claim it is some kind of revealed cosmological knowledge about the creation of the cosmos because that is not the context or purpose of the passage. Unless there is very clear intent of claimed revelation, I think it should not be used as evidence of scientific illumination in scripture because "stretching scripture" in this way just undermines the credibility of Christian exegesis and seems like clutching at straws to add scientific credibility to the bible. Our credibility is strongest when we stand on solid ground.
This stretching of scripture is in comparison to very valid texts that specifically provide revealed knowledge such as the concept of the Word, the Logos being the agent of all creation (FROM the Father , THROUGH the Word who also became Christ, and BY the Holy Spirit, in John 1, Genesis , Romans 1., Colossians 1 v15-20.
These are all profound revelations, but particularly of John 1 which has relevance to, DNA, which is even described by scientists as the Language of Life.

I think their argument would be that the whole Bible is a revelation and infallible and therefore a statement like that, is in fact, a claim of revelation. I would disagree. I am not a Biblical inerrantist. If that is a word.
Most of the people that will use that argument aren't usually that educated in exegesis. They are regurgitating stuff and a lot of them are Young Earth Creationists which are already pretty bad at Biblical exegesis.
Another problem with using imagery and perspective this way is that it can be found in other holy books. The Quran says something similar and the Muslims use it to claim their book is of Allah.
I think linking John 1 to DNA would also be a stretch that shouldn't be made.

Through modern interpretation words like Israelite, jews and Hebrew have been changed and misunderstood compared to there original meaning. The word jew doesn't even appear until the 11th book of the bible. The word Jew is used to describe several different groups of people. It could describe those from the house of Judah which is a lineage those who were from the geographical area known as Judea or people who practiced Judaism. Jesus didn't fall into any of those. The the Hebrews were not a particular group of people but a language group and the Israelites where the actual race of people that occupied the Middle East

These gentleman are imprisoned by the Bible and particularly the book of Genesis. How can they possibly be relied upon for an objective account of the evolution of the universe when their “science” is predicated on a single book within which they try to shoehorn their narrow views. Their individual and collective work is based on an uncritical belief in the inerrancy of the Bible. This disqualifies them from rational scientific research. Inerrancy is anathema to science. And while I’m at it, go and look at the work of Professor Roger Penrose and his ideas on conformal cyclic cosmology.
