Three years ago, I built a model garage in 1/43rd scale using your excellent method. It has stood the test of time and is one of my better models. Thank you for your painstakingly detailed instructions.

I purchased Your DVDs several years back. Best scratch building instructions and examples I've have found. Still go back and watch them when I need a refresh.

Excellent video Mr, Huffman. Not only does this produce amazing models, but it also teaches building framing without the danger of letting a beginner loose with nail guns and saws. For people in a hurry, this model making process is agonizing, but for people who actually enjoy the effort and the artistry of making perfect models this is definitely the way to go. Also your video is as pleasant and calming as watching a Bob Ross painting show. Thank you very much for your clear and complete presentation. I enjoyed this video immensely.

They should show this video to trainees learning construction, as it is perfectly presentable as a how to do framing when constructing a house. As a modeler, your techniques are painstakingly accurate but effective and provide a very realistic result throughout. Excellent tuition which is clearly and concisely explained in a very relaxing manner. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills with us lesser mortals.
Could you do a video on making and constructing the wooden plank cutter you used during this video, possibly doing a parts list including sizes of the metal pieces used, and how many nuts, bolts etc are needed. It looks like an excellent piece of equipment and I would love to construct one for my own use.

This is like a soup- to- nuts banquet in "Old School" model building. Always something to learn here. I'll continue on to the other three episodes and subscribe as well. Thank you so much.

Mr. Huffman, if you enjoy old buildings you should look up historical sites to visit. Ghost towns are wonderful for the old structures. Just a suggestion. I would love to see you do an old school house. Thank you for your videos. Your voice is soothing and your work is incredible. I have learned so much from you.

Love this building design. I model in HO SCALE, and 1/25th scale as well.

This would be a really cool way to make a building under construction. Just the framing set up on a foundation, or half the building with the clapboard siding up, etc.

if you didn't go to Louisiana between now and this video, go down to Nola (my home town) they're still there! All the houses and buildings you are talking about are all there. In New Orleans and all along the bayou too. Go to jean Lafitte.

Great Video series Darryl, I'm so thankful that you have shared them on UA-cam! Eventually I plan on scratchbuilding a two stall engine shed, this will be my go to series when it's time!

I like the sponge technique to create a peeled paint effect

I use the sponge technique more and more as I get older. The only technique I am not comfortable with these days is the Ranger Crackle paints. They work great but not consistent for me.

Jason Jensen Trains has some great videos on UA-cam showing the sponge technique. I like to to apply a different color of paint over and "older" layout of paint.

@@darrylhuffman1564 I'm a HUGE Jason Jensen fan; that's where I learned the sponge technique from. I stain my walls first and then apply the top coat with a sponge leaving the stained wood to show through at ares like weathered wood.

Darryl you are very good at building from scratch.
I was wondering if the person who built your material cutter for you would have a drawing of plans with measurements and material used that could be purchased and sent be email? If so please let me know. I will be watching your videos and I have subscribed with a thumbs up. Thanks for sharing your skills with us.

I have tried for years to get him to make more but he has no interest in doing so. My video on Building A Shay Wood Miter is the best I can do.

Total lack of a materials list. Basswood or Balsa? Try with coffee stir sticks.
